Amir x Haya.
"Amir, can you just sit with us for a few minutes instead of working like a mad man?"
He heard his mother say, not even bothering to hide the despair and sarcasm in her tone at the same time.
As someone who had always felt too attached to his mother, Amir smiled at the complaint and put his phone away, walking up to his mother as he sat on the edge of the sofa.
"Yes, mother. I can." He affirmed, leaning back and staring at the woman.
"Have you seen your eyes?"
And there it was.
The worry.
Amir shook his head. What was wrong with his eyes?
Queen Azizah clicked her tongue just so very lightly. She didn't like that while every other child of theirs got themselves royally pampered, Amir never really desired that treatment.
She felt proud that her son had a humble attitude but sometimes, he also deserved to feel like a Royal. He was the Crown Prince. He deserved to pamper himself but he hardly ever did it.
Even his clothes were picked out by her and she was sure that after his marriage, Haya would take up the task.
Amir only worked and worked and whatever remaining time he did have, he would either pray, look around nature or read books. He had friends and confidants but he didn't exactly spend much time with them.
Her son was quite anti social and yet no one ever said a bad word about him, only because he was so very charming.
"You know I don't like staring at myself." He replied to her comment about his eyes, shrugging his shoulders.
"Yes. But now there is someone who would like to stare at you." She mentioned Haya without even taking her name and relished in the fact that her son's dimples were already on display.
"And for her, you need to look a little alive."
Amir frowned just a bit.
"Do I not look alive enough to you?" He enquired, his mother chuckled.
"You do, Masha'Allah. My son has a light in his eyes that no one else does."
"You've said that since I was seven."
She had. She always found Amir to be so full of life and light, so innocent and yet so smart. God had given her the most precious gift in the form of her son.
"Yes, I have. But you need to do something about the dark circles. Not very attractive, my son."
So she was a little obsessed with him always looking his best, this is why she made sure to pick out the best suits for him. Every single one of his suit was custom made, then hand picked by Queen Azizah. Only because Amir didn't care enough about it.
She saw her son lean back, nodding. Since he looked slightly more relaxed than before, she knew that she had to atleast ask him once about the one thing that had been bothering him quite a bit.
"Can I ask you something, son?" Amir heard his mother question.
"Ofcourse, you can ask me anything."
"Do you think that you've chosen the right woman?"
He sat up straight, slowly. Why would she ask him that now?
"You talked with her, didn't you? What do you think?" He cross questioned instead.
"I think she's under your spell, she is so taken away by you that she's not looking at the bigger picture."
His mother opened up her phone, swiping across the screen as she showed him a picture of Haya. Haya, in a red dress, Haya looking absolutely breath taking but Haya, also wearing the clothes that he did not consider halal.
"This is her, from today." She pointed out.
As if that was not enough, his mother pointed his head towards one of his sisters, who was walking towards her room down the hall.
"And that's a woman from your family. The transition is going to be very complicated for the both of you."
Amir knew that. He knew that the journey was risky and it was going to be complicated. But he had wanted three things from his life partner.
He wanted spirituality, he wanted a woman who was not selfish and he wanted a woman who would love him no matter what.
He had found all three in Haya. He never thought he would find spirituality within her but he had. He had found it in the way she had painted those words, he had found it in the books she read and the poems she often quoted, he had even found it in the shadows of her eyes sometimes.
He wanted someone who wasn't selfish. Haya wasn't selfish. She was not self less either. She loved herself. But she also gave her all to people, she put in effort for the people she cared about and even for the people she didn't care about.
He wanted someone who would love him no matter what. Haya would. He knew that because he knew her personality. If she loved someone, she would love all of that person. She would love his weakness and his strength and she wouldn't judge. She would be patient with that person even when she wouldn't want to be.
So yes, even though Haya was stubborn, even though she wasn't exactly suitable for his family, even though she was different and blunt and opinionated, she was just a beautiful person anyway.
He swallowed, staring at his mother.
"I am hopeful that Haya will understand in due time and maybe I'll have to do the same for her." He stated, his mother nodded.
"That is going to be hard considering the kind of man that you are, son."
"The kind of man that I am?" Amir asked, with an eye raised.
"Yes."
"You're firm when it comes to your ideology, Amir. She's stubborn enough when she believes in a cause."
Her mother didn't know Haya enough but one phone call had been enough to decipher some of her traits.
"So you think it's going to be a disaster?"
"I think it's a risk."
Amir smiled. Every marriage was a risk. All we could do was trust in Allah and do our best.
"I think I might love her."
He didn't know if he loved her completely or he didn't but he knew that he hadn't felt attached, infatuated or even attracted to any woman other than Haya. Sure, he had found women beautiful and an epitome of God's incredible blessings but he hadn't found someone so graceful and charming and just so lovely.
"I know, son."
"I think she might love you too." He heard his mother add.
He knew Haya was deeply infatuated with him. Love? He didn't know that. Amir let out a deep sigh, praying to the almighty that their love and companionship would be enough to ensure a happy marriage.
Seeing the frown on his face, his mother nudged his shoulder.
"Do not fret, Amir. Allah knows what's in your heart." She pointed towards his chest, continuing.
"Do you remember the one ayat that your father always spoke?"
"Yes. 'Good women are for good men and good men are for good women."
He repeated, his mother nodded.
"Believe in that. Your marriage will be just fine, insha Allah."
"Insha Allah, mother."
And he hoped and prayed that everything would not only turn out fine, but perfect.

Royal Houses of Buredaan and Maraaish announce the engagement of Princess Haya with Crown Prince Amir.
The thirty year old Crown Prince Amir Bin Abdullah of Maraaish is quite popular in the middle East and South Asia for his progressive yet culturally significant and religiously respectful views. Infact, the black haired Prince has actually made quite an impression in the United States with his first solo trip earlier this year. Whether it was the accent, the dimples, the respectful nods or the Prince's hand gestures, social media kept buzzing about the Maraaishi Prince for days.
Some people define Crown Prince Amir as erudite, spiritual and suave, a man with a calm perspective on life and a simple nature. Others call him the handsome Prince with a dimple.
However, it seems like the Crown Prince's choice of women isn't simple or calm like his nature.
Our sources in the Royal House of Buredaan claim that Amir was able to befriend Haya, courtesy of their many official and unofficial meetings in the past many months. However, it was only after he started liking her a little too much that he knew he had to marry her. Well, isn't that sweet? It is.
However, Princess Haya is every bit if the modern rebellious Princess we all used to only read about in books and fairytales.
Educated at the University of Oxford, with several diplomas from universities in her own countries and well, too many more places..Princess Haya has the intellect for sure.
But no one can forget her rebellious attitude, her very fresh social media messages that often lead to controversies and well, alot of drama. The opinionated Princess is set to marry the very calculated Prince. Is it a match made in heaven or is it a journey towards hell?
"Salam alaikum," Amir greeted the moment he heard her pick up the phone.
Haya hadn't called in the entire day and while he wasn't the kind of man to call on his own all the time, he knew that he had to call his future wife now. He had to hear her voice.
"Amir, Salam.." He heard her greet him back loudly, his ears catching the loud music behind her.
Amir let out a sigh.
"Are you busy?" He enquired because usually, he wouldn't even hear a bird chirp while talking to her.
Today, all he heard was voices and music and Haya speaking loudly over it.
"Not exactly, just having alot of fun. Aaliya threw me a bridal shower thing tonight, so I'm just here with my friends." She replied, and Amir understood that.
While his friends had already planned some sort of gathering in the desert the following morning, he knew that Haya had people around him who were wild and loud.
"Alright, I'll let you go then." He decided to not disturb her while she was enjoying herself but Haya clearly wanted to talk to him.
"No, wait. It's been an entire day. I want to talk." She murmured, moving away from the noise as she found a private space in the wide hall.
"Okay,"
"I was reading the article by vanity Fair. Did you read that?" She enquired as Amir heard the faint noise, it was much more calm than before but not completely silent.
"It did catch my eye." He replied, remembering a few words here and there.
"And what do you think?"
What did he think? He didn't think about such things at all.
Amir smiled, letting out a soft sigh.
"I don't think about such articles, Haya. I think about you." He told her genuinely and all he heard was the laugh followed by the sound of her humming.
"Oh oh, there's a little flirt within you." She teased, he tried to stop his dimples from poking out.
"There isn't." He dismissed.
"Yes, there is." She replied, chuckling.
"Haya," He tried again.
"Amir," She said in the very same tone.
"I'm not a flirt." He defended himself, Haya rolled her eyes playfully. What would be so bad about it if he was?
"But you're a romantic, no?" She tried another way, Amir sighed shaking his head.
"I hope so."
"I know you are. I've seen the way you see me."
And there it was again. The slight squeeze of his heart as he thought about her, about seeing her.
He hadn't seen her for a few weeks now and he had never wanted to see someone more than her, his heart clenched everytime he thought of her and one way or another, Amir knew that he missed her.
"Haya," He whispered her name but she heard it over the phone anyway.
"Hmm?"
"I miss you, you know." He told her, Haya smiled feeling her own heart squeeze as she heard his words.
"You do?"
"Yes. Now that the world knows you're going to marry me, all I want is for you to be in front of me all the time." He further added, expressing himself more than usual today.
Haya didn't know why but she liked this side of him more.
"Sometimes, you're so expressive Amir. And the other times, you're all haram Haya. I don't even know what to say and what to not say." She responded, telling him the truth.
"Say whatever you like. I like you that way." He said honestly because that genuinely was the utter truth.
He liked all the parts of her and it didn't matter if he agreed with them or not.
Haya smirked, humming.
"Well, I would say that I look super sexy tonight so you should totally see me. And that I miss your presence as well and my ears are burning as I talk to you which is unlikely for someone who is not shy at all." She elaborated, laughing.
"You could have said you look beautiful." Amir pointed out.
"But I always look beautiful, that's God's blessing." She murmured, all proud.
"You're God's blessing." Amir replied without any hesitancy.
Her ears burned with his halal flirting or whatever it was. She smiled so big that her cheeks felt like hurting.
"And now my cheeks are burning." She said with a small whine, continuing as she heard no response.
"Halal flirting with Crown Prince Amir 101." She teased, this time the Crown Prince chuckled out loud.
"Enjoy your night, Haya." He wished, Haya squeezed the phone in her hand and kept one hand on her heart, feeling too much all of a sudden.
"I'll call you." She said, breathless.
"I'll wait."
He replied, hanging up.
Haya.
Didn't I say I looked sexy?
Amir.
🙂
Haya.
Amir.
Beautiful.
Amir.
But also, haram Haya.
Haya.
😂😽
Amir.
I'm glad you're having a good time.
Haya.
There's no alcohol and it's just us girls.
Amir.
Why are you telling me this?
Haya.
Because I want you to know that I'd never do something to embarrass you.
Amir.
Haya, I know that.
Haya.
Okay. I will see you in three days.
Haya.
And then once we get married,I'll wear all kinds of sexy clothes for you and you won't even be able to say haram Haya because it won't be haram haha.
Amir.
Haya, I am not sure what I should say.
Haya.
Let's do this again. I'll see you in three days.
Amir.
Insha'Allah.
