Jax:

Next Day

Night - Skies

Jax had been out of the house all day the next day, testing the limitations of the improvements he had made on his own suit.

Tony had sent Pepper to Stark Industries to download the shipment files of all the weapons that were being sent anywhere other than the military to destroy them so that they couldn't use his weapons for bad.

The Ten Rings had found the remains of the suit that Tony had built in the cave and given it to Obie.

Obie was trying to make another suit to better the Starks.

Jax was flying in the sky at night, talking with Pepper. "What do you mean he paid to have Dad killed? Pepper, slow down. Why would Obie..."

Pepper was leading Agent Coulson and other agents through a basement. "I don't know. Tony's not answering his phone. Please go home and make sure everything's okay. Thank you, Jax." She hung up, looking at the agents. "I know a shortcut."

Jax turned around, flying as fast as he could through the sky, reaching the Stark mansion, flying down through the hole in the roof and several floors to get to the living room.

🚀

Living Room

Jax saw Tony only shortly paralyzed from a device of Obie's, stopping, landing on the floor. The mask pulled back off his head. Jax walked toward Tony. "Dad?" He saw that the arc reactor was missing from his chest. "Oh, my God. What happened?"

"Obie," Tony answered. "Need... Reactor."

Jax nodded. "Got it."

Jax flew through the hole in the floor down to the garage, landing, walking quickly toward the desk, opening the glass cube with Tony's old reactor, taking it out, flying up to the living room once again. He walked closer to Tony. The glove pulled back from his hand. Jax prepared to put the reactor into his chest.

🚀

Stark Industries

Obie was in the Stark Industries' Sector 16 room underneath the arc reactor, putting Tony's chest arc reactor into the chest of his own metallic suit.

🚀

Stark Mansion - Living Room

Jax finished putting the reactor into Tony's chest. "Are you okay?"

"Where is Pepper?" Tony asked.

"She's fine," Jax told him. "She's with five agents that are about to arrest Obie."

Tony shook his head. "That's not gonna be enough."

🚀

Stark Industries

Pepper led the five agents through the lobby of Stark Industries. "Section 16. Section 16... There it is." She swiped her key card in the holder, but nothing happened. "My key's not working. It's not opening the door." Agent Coulson took out a device, walking closer, putting it on the electronic lock on the door. "Wow, what is that? It's like a little device, like a thing that's gonna pick the lock?"

"You may wanna take few steps back," Agent Coulson told her.

They backed away toward the four other agents, all of which were turned away from the door.

There was a small burst from the device that destroyed the lock on the door.

🚀

Stark Mansion - Living Room

Jax was about to leave the mansion.

Tony stood, grabbing his arm to stop him. "You have to let me come with you."

"You just got paralyzed by a creep that sold you for murder and is also trying to become better than us so he can turn into a super villain," Jax told him. "And that reactor in your chest is not suitable for your suit. It's not powerful enough to keep the suit powered up for you to even fly. Let me fight this guy."

Jax's helmet and mask closed around his head. He flew out of the house, leaving.

Tony pulled out his phone, making a call, walking toward the stairs leading to the garage. "Hey, Rhodey, I need you to do me a favor."

Rhodey was driving in the streets. "Yeah? And what's that?"

"I need you to keep the skies clear," Tony answered. "And I know you're gonna ask you for an explanation, so let me give you one."

Tony walked downstairs.

🚀

Stark Industries

Pepper and the five agents walked into Sector 16 at the Stark Industries.

The agents had their guns drawn.

They came across the suit from the cave.

Agent Coulson looked at Pepper. "Looks like you were right. He was building a suit."

"I thought it'd be bigger," Pepper told them, looking around, seeing broken wires hanging from the ceiling.

The agents split up to look around the room.

The chains behind Pepper were dangling, swinging slightly.

Pepper turned toward them in confusion.

White eyes started to shine from the shadows behind the chains.

Obie stood in full, almost ceilings level height, targeting Pepper. The suit he was wearing was huge.

Pepper screamed, running away.

Agent Coulson aimed his gun at Obie. "Take him out!"

The agents fired at Obie, but didn't have much affect.

Obie slammed into metal and electronic things, making them burst or spark up, running after Pepper.

Pepper ran out of the room, leaving.

Obie tried to follow, but was too large to fit through the doorway.

🚀

Skies

Jax was flying through the night sky. "Call Pepper."

Jarvis: "Calling Pepper, sir."

Pepper was standing outside the Stark Industries building. She answered her phone. "Jax?"

"Pepper, my dad's fine," Jax told her. "Where are--"

"Obadiah, he's gone insane," Pepper told him.

"I know," Jax told her. "Listen. You better get outta there."

"He built the suit," Pepper told him.

"Get outta there, right now!" Jax told her.

Pepper looked around.

🚀

Stark Industries - Outside

The ground behind Pepper started to break and rise up.

Pepper turned around.

Obie emerged from the breaking ground, standing, looking at Pepper. His voice was changed. "Where do you think you're going?" He stepped closer. Pepper backed away, screaming. "Your services are no longer required."

Obie held his hand toward Pepper.

The large gun on Obie's suit's wrist was preparing to shoot.

Jax flew toward Obie. "Stane!"

Obie started to shoot at Jax. Jax tackled Obie through the building wall to the street on the other side.

🚀

Street

Jax tackled Obie past the traffic, landing in the middle of the road.

Obie purposefully made cars wreck into each other.

Others were driving away as fast as they could, or stopping before they could get to Obie and Jax.

Obie stood, picking a car off the road.

The other and the children inside were screaming.

Obie held the car over his head. "I love this suit!"

Jax stood. His voice was also altered by his suit. "Put them down!"

"Collateral damage, Jax," Obie told him.

Jax made the light rays from his palms fade. "Defer the power to chest piece."

The light ray shot out from the arc reactor on Jax's suit to Obie, making him fall into a car behind him.

The car started to fall.

Jax caught the car, putting it down.

The children and the mother were screaming.

The mother drove into Jax, taking him down the road.

"Lady!" Jax told her. He started to fall. "No, no, no, no, no!"

Jax fell to the ground.

The car drove over him, throwing up sparks.

Jax pushed the car off of him, letting it go down the road.

Obie walked closer, landing on the ground next to Jax.

Jax stood.

A man riding a motorcycle tried to drive past.

Obie picked up the man, tossing him aside, picking up the motorcycle, using it to hit Jax so hard he fell into a car behind him.

People were getting out of their cars and running.

Obie kicked Jax, picking him up. "For thirty years, I've been holding your father up. Your grandfather before him. And then your father wants to give the company to you." He threw Jax to the ground, stomping on his chest. "I built this company from nothing!" He picked Jax up. "And nothing is gonna stand in my way." He turned around, throwing Jax into a bus, breaking the wall, walking closer, turning his back to the bus. Grenade missiles came out of the suit onto his shoulder, aiming at the bus. "And least of all, you." The missiles fired at the bus, making it explode. The explosion threw Jax up in the air, making him fall. Jax flipped through the air, flying before he could touch the ground, hovering there in the air. "Impressive! You've upgraded your armor. Is that where you've been all day?"

"You have no idea," Jax told him.

"Yeah," Obie told him. "Actually, I do. Because I've made some
upgrades of my own."

Obie started to fly toward Jax.

Jarvis: "Sir, it appears that his suit can fly."

"Duly noted," Jax told him. "Take me to the maximum altitude."

Jax flew higher into the sky.

Obie followed him.

Pepper watched from outside Stark Industries.

Tony was in the Stark mansion, able to see two blips of light from where he was.

The larger one was caused by the large fireball created by Obie's suit to make him fly.

The shorter streak was caused by the fire created by Jax's suit to make him fly.

🚀

Air Base

The soldiers were going on with their day.

The computer expert saw the two blips of light on his screen. "Sir, you're not gonna believe this. Those things are back."

"Get me major Allen," the officer told them. "Scramble the jets!"

The expert picked up his phone to make a call.

Rhodey took the phone from the expert, hanging up. "Not necessary, people. Just a training exercise."

🚀

Skies

Jax was still flying into the sky. "Climb!" Obie was still following him. "Keep going!"

They reached highest altitude.

Obie's suit started to ice up.

Obie grabbed Jax to stop him from flying any higher. "You had a great idea, Jax, but my suit is more advanced in every way."

"Oh, really?" Jax asked sarcastically. "How'd you solve
the icing problem?"

"Icing problem?" Obie repeated.

Obie's suit powered down.

Jax smiled. "Yeah... Might want to look into it."

Jax punched Obie on the head, breaking some of the ice, making Obie fall full speed back to the ground below. He watched Obie fall.

Jarvis: "What are you waiting for, sir?"

"I'm just enjoying the view," Jax answered. "All right, play time's over. Back to work."

🚀

Stark Industries

Jax flew back down to the ground, landing in front of Stark Industries.

Pepper and Tony walked closer.

"Jax," Tony told him.

"Dad?" Jax asked. "When'd you get here?"

"Pretty much now," Tony answered. "I get it. You don't want me in the suit 'cause this thing in my chest won't power it up and I would get myself killed. Got that. That doesn't mean I can't help."

Pepper looked behind him. "Jax!"

Jax turned to face Obie.

"Nice try," Obie told him, trying to punch Jax.

Jax ducked, shooting a light ray into Obie, making him flip through the air and fall to the ground.

Tony took Pepper by the hand, running into the building.

Obie stood. Jax flew closer, punching him in the head. Obie grabbed Jax, throwing him aside.

Tony was inside with Pepper, calling Jax.

"Dad?" Jax asked.

"Jax, this isn't working," Tony told him. "We're gonna have to overload the reactor and blast the roof."

"How are you gonna do that?" Jax asked.

"I go to the central console, open up the bolt of circuits," Tony explained. "When you clear the roof, let me know, and I'm gonna hit the master bypass button. That's gonna fry everything up there."

"Okay, I am going up there now," Jax told him.

"Make sure you clear the roof when the reactor's ready," Tony told him.

"All right," Jax told him. "I'll buy you some time."

"For God's sake, Jax, be careful," Tony told him.

Inside, Tony flipped all the switches on the control console.

Outside, Jax flew up to the roof.

Obie stood, following Jax up to the roof, landing. He looked around, unable to see Jax. He walked a few paces forward.

Jax jumped onto Obie's back, ripping out a wire from the back of his suit's next. "This looks important."

Sparks were thrown. The power in Obie's suit was temporarily flickering.

Inside, Tony hit all the buttons he needed to in the control console.

Pepper watched him worriedly, having no idea what he was doing.

On the roof, Obie wiggled around until he was able to throw Jax off of him, tearing his helmet and mask off.

Jax slid across the roof, onto the window skylight above the arc reactor.

Inside, Tony turned all the dials he needed to in the control console.

Pepper stepped closer curiously, but kept her distance.

On the roof, Obie's mask and part of the chest opened to reveal Obie inside.

Obie looked at Jax, still holding his helmet/mask. "I never had a taste for this sort of thing, but I must admit..." He looked at the helmet/mask in his hand. "I'm deeply enjoying the suit."

Obie crushed the helmet/mask in his hand, tossing it to the glass next to Jax.

Jax looked up.

Inside, Tony and Pepper walked into the lobby of the building.

On the roof, Obie walked closer to Jax. "You really outdid yourself, Jax. You made your father proud. You would have made your grandfather proud."

Jax took a knee to the glass.

Tony was standing at the arc reactor, preparing to turn it on. "It's ready, Jax! Get off the roof!"

Outside, Obie tried to shoot Jax in the head repeatedly.

Jax raised his arms in front of him to use the suit as a shield.

Obie shot the glass underneath Jax, making it shatter and Jax fall through.

Jax caught the edge of the skylight.

Tony saw him from inside. "Jax!"

"How ironic, Jax," Obie told him. "Trying to free the world of weapons, you and your father gave it the best one ever."

"Dad!" Jax called, telling him to get ready.

Obie walked closer. "And now... I'm gonna kill you with it!" He tried to shoot Jax, but missed. "You ripped out my targeting system, you little prick."

"Jax!" Tony told him.

Obie walked closer to Jax.

Inside, Jax waited until Obie was standing on the skylight, flying down into the lobby of the building, grabbing Tony and Pepper, hitting the button to turn on the arc reactor, flying out of the building with Tony and Pepper.

Outside, there was a blinding blue light that shot up to the skylight, surrounding Obie, scorching him alive. The light from the arc reactor continued to shoot up into the sky to the clouds.

Jax, Pepper and Tony were outside of the building, looking up at the light in shock, knowing that Obie was gone.

The light completely faded.

Inside, Obie and his suit fell through the skylight, down through many mechanisms of the arc reactor until he reached the bottom, setting off an explosion that took the whole building with it.

Outside, Jax, Tony and Pepper watched everything, the light of the fiery explosion reflected upon them.
