⚡️FIFTEEN.

━━━more champions!

THE ENTIRE GREAT hall paused, every whisper paused for two seconds before a buzzing noise surrounded everyone, Birdie looked around everywhere, her eyes scanning the whole room for her brother — what the fuck was happening? How the hell did he manage to put his name in? Soon enough her gaze stopped, she found her brother sat down next to Ron and Hermione with a dumbfounded look on his face — now, no matter how distant they were as siblings Birdie knew her brother and the look on his face definitely doesn't mean that he knew he would even have slightest chance of getting chosen.

She saw Regan doing the same thing as her, both of them exchanged looks — she didn't know whether Regan thought the same thing as her or if she knew something else that Birdie didn't or if she was just as clueless, she then turned to look at Harry again, she gave him a look, and Harry mouthed 'I didn't do it, I swear, I didn't' to her, and all she could do was give him a reassuring look, that she's sure didn't do much.

"Harry Potter, Harry! Up here, please!" said Dumbledore from the top table, and Harry looked even more stunned, Birdie wanted to get up and help him, but as soon as she was about to grow up — Professor Sprout's stern gaze made her sit back into her seat.

Birdie watched Harry get up to his feet, he stumbled onto his way because of his cloak, as he walked he gave his sister a look, she knew what it meant and got up — she didn't care about the stupid rules, her brother had gotten himself in trouble yet again, why does trouble always follow the Potters' like it's no one's business? She walked hurriedly to join Harry, getting rid of the grip Lorelei had on her hand.

"Ms Potter, you can't go in there" Dumbledore said calmly, "It's a room for the champions"

"With all due respect, sir" said Birdie with a cold look, "I don't care"

"Ms Potter—" Professor Snape was about to say something when Dumbledore interrupted him.

"It's alright, Professor, I'm sure a few minutes in the room couldn't hurt anyone" Dumbledore said, passing her a kind smile, "Go on, Ms Potter"

Birdie gave him a nod and hurried inside, she saw Harry standing in the corner just looking at everyone with the shocked expression still on his face, she took strides towards him and then grabbed his arm, turning him around to face her, "What the hell happened?"

"I- I don't know" Harry said with an unsure voice, "I swear, Birdie, I didn't put my name in the goblet"

"Look, Harry, I don't know what to do here" Birdie said pinching the bridge of her nose, "I'm sorry, I would help you out but I don't know what to do here, oh my god what are we going to do? You can't participate, do you think they'll let me do it instead of you-"

"What eez eet?" Fleur Delcour moved forward, "Do zey want us back in ze Hall?"

Harry and Birdie stared at her, both of them staring at her with the same identical expression on their faces, well what the hell are they going to do now? Cedric looked over at the two Potters, his eyebrows furrowed and Krum was still busy giving brooding looks to literally nothing, both the siblings gave each other another look.

The sound of scampering feet interrupted the teenagers as Ludo Bagman entered the room and led Harry forward by taking him by the arm, Birdie opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out, Cedric moved forward towards her, "What's happening?"

"I'm not entirely sure, the fucking ugly ass goblet spit Harry's shitting name out" Birdie said in her panicked voice, Cedric's eyes widened.

"How did he manage to put his name in?!" Cedric exclaimed in a hushed manner, "With all the protection spells Dumbledore put-"

"Take a look at his bloody face, Ced" said Birdie, "Does it look like he has a clue about what's happening? He didn't put his fucking name in"

"Then what happened?" questioned Cedric.

"I don't fucking know, man" Birdie said, "How the hell am I going to get him out of this one?"

"Look, just try and relax, ok? Dumbledore will fix this"

....

"How this situation arose, we do no know. It seems to me, however, that we have no choice but to accept it. Both Cedric and Harry have been chosen to compete in the tournament, this, therefore, they will do" Dumbledore said, his face grim.

Birdie and Cedric looked at each other, "Professor, you can't let him participate!" Birdie said to Dumbledore who turned around, "He's only—" she paused, how old was he again? Oh, right he's two years younger than her, "—fourteen, we're basically sending him to die out there"

"I'm sorry, Ms Potter, but I don't see another option" said Dumbledore.

"Ze girl eez right" Madam Maxime said, and Professor McGonagall nodded her head in agreement, "He eez but a child!"

"My dear Madam Maxime, if you have an alternative, I would be delighted to hear it" said Dumbledore and waited for a second but then nodded when he got nothing but silence from Madam Maxime, she glared silently at him and Birdie could swear she saw her mouth a swear word in french or something like that.

"This wouldn't be fair" Karkaroff said, "If Hogwarts has two champions we should be allowed to choose another one from Durmstrang"

"Karkaroff, this isn't a competion, we are putting our children in danger!" Professor McGonagall said, her voice projecting her rage.

"But eet eez a competition" Madam Maxime said, "We will put forward one more champion also"

"But the goblet is not lit anymore" said Dumbledore.

"Ms Potter, put your hand down this isn't a classroom" Professor Snape snarled, and Birdie put her hand down embarrassed.

"Is there something you wish to say, Ms Potter?" Professor McGonagall asked the girl who cleared her throat.

"Um, I have an idea for choosing another champion" Birdie offered.

"FOR THE LAST time, Ms Potter, you cannot compete instead of your brother!" Professor Snape said with a glare to the Potter who wanted to poke her tongue out at him at that exact moment, but advised herself against it, "Now, if you could get on with the plan we would all appreciate it"

"Oh, right, the plan" Birdie said, "It's quite simple, really — you pick a name from the bowl full of names written on a chit" she shrugged, "And to ensure no one is cheating, the professors themselves can write the names down"

"Ms Potter are you suggesting we use chits to pick out the next champions?" Igor Karkaroff said with a nasty scowl on his face.

"I don't see anything wrong with it" A lady with tan skin and a very familiar face said as she walked inside the room, she had this aura around her — something that reminded Birdie of someone, she just wasn't sure who.

"Ah, you are finally here" Karkaroff said, his ever so present frown still on his face, "This is Ms Ross, everyone — she teaches Quidditch and Defense back at Durmstrang"

"Pleasure to see you again, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Mcgonagall" The woman said, Birdie watched as her chocolate brown eyes scanned the entire room and she passed around smiles to everyone, "And, oh—" the woman released what seemed like a combination of a gasp and a strangled little scream, "Sniv— Uh, I mean, Professor Snape, how good to see you, haha, you must forgive me I've had a rather long journey..." she passed Snape an awkward look.

Birdie had immediately decided that she liked her, anyone who dislikes Snape is immediately liked by her, that's kind of the entire Hogwarts, but she is a Hufflepuff, am I right?

"I believe — Ms Potter, isn't it?" Ms Ross said and then paused, waiting for Birdie to confirm and so she did with a nod, "Right, I think her method is simple and effective — what else do we need?"

"No more champions should be allowed!" Exclaimed Moody from a corner, all of sudden making every startle a bit, "Putting more kids' in danger, I simply should not have it!"

"Well, eet eez not your decision to make" Madam Maxime said in a dangerous voice, Birdie backed away a bit as she passed everyone in the room a glare, "Two of out of ze three schools agree, I believe it is a matter of majority"

"I simply will not let Hogwarts have an advantage!" Karkaroff roared and Birdie swore she saw Ms Ross roll her eyes in the slightest.

"Advantage? High master, let me remind you Harry Potter is just fourteen!" Minerva shot back with just as much rage, though Birdie knew that wasn't the most Mcgonagall could do, she'd seen worse, "He can get himself killed!"

"He should've thought of that before he made someone put his name in!" Karkaroff said bitterly.

"He didn't make someone put his name in" Birdie snapped before she could stop herself, everyone in the room turned to look at her, she herself didn't believe what she had just done, "Harry wouldn't lie like that, and he isn't interested in the Tournament, I don't see a reason as to he would go so far just to put his name in"

"How about zis?" Madam Maxime said, turning everyone's attention away from Birdie, Birdie silently thanked the headmistress, "We will make sixteen-year-olds to put their name in, zat way no one has an advantage"

"I'm sorry, Madam Maxime" Professor McGonagall said stepping forward, "Your solution to an underage wizard being chosen as a champion is to choose more underage champions?"

"Zat is the fairest option, is it not?" Madam Maxime questioned and watched McGongall's lips purse, "What do you say, Karkaroff?"

"I agree with Madam Maxime" Karkaroff said, his voice harsh, "One year younger won't make much difference — back at Durmstrang, we don't coddle our kids, they know how to last in a fight"

"It's settled then, every sixteen year old from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons can now choose to put their name in this bowl and we shall pick one out for both schools" Ms Ross said, trying to get rid of all the tension in the room, "Now, I suggest we get going with the process — the kids will have to prepare for their first task"

"Of course" Dumbledore said, having given up on the topic, "We must hurry, I'm afraid it's past their bedtimes"

"Bedtimes" Igor Karkaroff scoffed, "Back at Durmstrang—"

Birdie tuned him out, she didn't care what they did back at Durmstrang, all she care about right now was her brother, how the hell does the kid manage to get in a life threatening situation every year?! One of these days she's going to die protecting him, or worse...get a gray hair.

"Hey" Harry said as they watched everyone leave the chamber, "Thank you for sticking up for me, and believing in me"

Birdie looked at him and passed him a smile, "It's what sisters do, little bro"

"Please don't call me that again" Harry said with a grimace.

"But it's cute!" Birdie pouted.

"Maybe to you?" Harry said with a frown.

"Fine" Birdie said rolling her eyes, "Now, go and talk to your friends — they could provide you some comfort, and I'm sure Regan, Ron and Hermione are worried about you"

Harry passed her a nod and moved out of the chambers himself, Birdie released a sigh and then walked out. Out in the Great Hall students had already started putting their names on a list, and the headmasters writing their names on a chits, because of how less underage students were here — the amount of chits was lesser than expected, therefore it did not take long for every student to put their name in.

"Normally, the Triwizard Tournament only has wizards and witches of age participating, but normally the Tournament doesn't have four champions either, we've decided to take the rules as more of guidelines" Ludo Bagman announced, "Due to the surprising turn of events — two more champions will be chosen to make it a fair competition, I will now request High master Igor Karkaroff to step forward and pick a chit, please"

Igar Karkaroff stepped up and Birdie watched him stare at the barely even half bowl for around a minute before he reached his hand in and pulled out a piece of parchment, "Lorelei Black!" he exclaimed, a look of displeasure on his face, Birdie felt her eyes widen as she watched an ecstatic looking El join the other champions on the other side of the front line, talking in hushed whispers to Cedric Diggory. The noise resembling buzzing once again surrounded the entire Great Hall as they watched Lorelei, Lorelei couldn't be more unbothered.

"Madam Maxime, now, if you please?" Ludo Bagman said and Madam Maxime stepped forward, towering over everyone and everything in sight.

She put her perfectly manicured hand inside the bowl and pulled out a piece of parchment, "Eloise Moreau!" She announced excitedly, Birdie imagined she was particularly glad because she had been one of the better students, Birdie watched the brunette walk up to the front line and chat excitedly with Fleur.

El gave her a huge smile, and Harry a look that screamed 'help me', oh, bloody hell. One normal year, that's all she asked for, ONE normal year, just the one!

Lmfao I'm stressing out about my exams😭
