Arden Grimes lost everything.

Before the world had gone to complete shit, Arden had lost his father, Rick Grimes. Rick Grimes was a sheriff deputy before he got shot on the job. Arden still remembers that day, the day his mother and his godfather, Shane Walsh had to tell him and his younger brother he would not be coming home for a couple weeks. A couple weeks turned into a few months, and since then, Arden was starting to forget what he looked like. He hated it.

The worst part was he never got better. When the dead started to rise and overrun the living, they had to leave him there, rotting away in the hospital bed. After all, he was presumed to be dead. Arden hated the changes that happened to there family. He hated how they had to leave their home, to find a new one in the woods with strangers. He hated how his godfather started flirting with his mother. He felt like the world was against him. A couple months after the world had ended, and the Grimes family had made a campsite their new home for now, their father suddenly returned. Arden was back to his regular self for a while.

When their spot gets overrun, they have to leave. Sophia, a little girl who is Carl's age, runs away from the group. While they are out there looking for her, they spot a old nice farm house. Carl had unfortunately got shot by a hunter trying to find dinner from his family.

While trying to do everything he can to save his little brother, he sees her. Beth Greene, his light in this god awful world. Would she be his answer to happiness? Or will it end just like everything else in his life?

This book will be sad, so be prepared. If you saw my oc amara, with arden as the love interest, that is because there will be some drama and mixed feelings after arden loses beth in season five.
