~3rd Person POV~

"Emma! Emma slow down!" Peyton called after his little sister as he ran in the direction she went. "Emma! Emma stop!" Emma heard as she ignored her brother and kept running away from him. Tears fell down her face and she would occasionally wipe them away with her hand while running. She didn't care where she went. She just wanted to be alone and definitely not have her brother bothering her. Her vision soon blurred and as she thought of the situation she got more and more upset. She began running faster and faster than before. "EMMA! WATCH OUT!" She heard her brother call. Suddenly she saw one of her biggest fears. The river. Her eyes widened and she tried skidding to a stop but she tripped. And before she knew it she was under the raging rivers water. She gasped for air as she kept pushing her head above the water. This would've been easy for her...if she knew how to swim...

"PEYTON! *Cough* HEL-" She screamed but she was cut off when she went back under the waves. "EMMA!" Peyton called out as he stood a foot away from the river. Emma was being pushed down the river and Peyton wasted no time to run and try to catch up to his sister. Emma was thrashing around in the water and trying to get back above the waves. Peyton's eyes went wide when he saw a very rocky part of the river. He knew his sister was trying desperately to swim or get above the water but if she reached the rocks and continued this she  could hit one of the rocks and be dangerously injured.

Without thinking Peyton dove into the water and swam to his sister. By this time Emma was above the water but she was still desperately trying to swim. Peyton soon reached his sister and he put his arm around her back so that he could support her from behind so she didn't reach the rocks. Then he stood up and helped his sister up. They had a hard time standing due to the current. "T-thank you big bro!" Emma said trying to catch her breath but at the same time trying to keep her balance. "Don't thank me yet!" Peyton responded trying to take a step against the current with his sister.

"What are we going to do?!" Emma cried in worry. Peyton was silent for a minute. He knew what they should try to do but he didn't want to scare his sister. Even if they fought the current there was still a chance that they could get wrapped back under the waves. Peyton thought of his reply carefully. "We are going to try to take steps against the current alright Emma?" Peyton said in the most reassuring voice he could. "BUT WHAT IF WE GO BACK UNDER AGAIN!" Emma cried in a paranoid way. "Hey hey Emma! Calm down! Think positive!" Peyton quickly replied trying to calm his sister. "But!-" Emma started to say but was cut off when she started hyperventilating. "EMMA! TAKE DEEP BREATHS! YOUR GONNA PASS OUT!" Peyton screamed noticing his sister was pushed back a bit by the current. He pushed his sister back up where he was with his arm still around her back to support her backside. "O-o-ok!" Emma said and took a few deep breaths. "Now are you ready?" Peyton asked looking at his sisters face. She shook her head 'yes'. "Alright take one step forward with me one at a time" Peyton said. "1...2...3" Peyton counted down and both of them took one successful step.

"1...2...3" and again they both took one successful step. And then again and again and again. And before Emma realized it they were at the spot where she had originally fell off but the good part was they were almost on land! "Now all you need to do is step out of the river" Peyton said and as soon as Emma heard that she got out of the river as fast as she could. Peyton tried taking a step out of the river but his foot landed in a bad spot and he slipped back under the water. "PEYTON!" Emma cried and looked at the spot where he fell in. Several minutes went by and Peyton still hadn't come up from under the water...

"BROTHER!" Emma screamed with tears flooding her eyes at the dreadful thought that he might have drowned. She stared at the water...waiting...hoping...

Emma let out a regretful scream. She screamed as loud as she could. This was her fault. Her brother was gone because of her. She cried and cried and cried more than she had ever in her life. She had never felt this much pain and distress. "Please...Please Peyton...Don't leave...Not yet..." Emma said quietly almost like a whisper.

~Peyton's POV~

Everything was black. Pitch black. I heard a loud familiar scream. It was Emma's scream. I wanted to move so badly. I wanted to show my sister I was alright but I couldn't...

I wasn't sure how much time had passed. But suddenly I was pulled out of the water. My eyes barely opened. I saw the outline of a yellow figure. And then darkness.

I gasped and sat up. I looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. Stone walls surrounded most of the room. But the exit/entrance had a sort of weird door? It was leaves woven together making strands that blocked out the bright light of the outside. I felt warm ground under me not stone cold ground which confused me. I looked at what was under me and was surprised to see a big leaf. I looked at the decor in the room. And thought...

Where am I?

Suddenly I heard something move and looked at the spot where I heard the noise. My blood ran cold when I spotted it. My heart sped up faster than a cheetah.

It was massive.

It had sharp claws.

It had shiny, sharp teeth.

It had huge wings.

It had golden, glowing scales.

...

And I thought...

Hey lovelies! So this book actually came to mind randomly😅 But anyways I really hope you enjoyed! This chapter took me 3 hours to complete! But it was worth it in my opinion! I hope you all have been staying safe and doing well! I've personally been stressed out because over the course of three days my dog was constantly having epilepsy episodes. Like she would have one then stop then have one then stop and it would repeat! My dog was diagnosed with epilepsy years ago but they were never this bad...She had to go to the vet overnight and they had to give her a lot a lot of medication...The poor baby is barely able to act herself lately...We got her back yesterday.
