Chapter 76
Oliver looked horrified.
But he saw Scarlet step in front of her brother and take the impact of the knife so he didn't have to.
It decapitated her but at least she didn't suffer. Although, Kyran would soon die and he wouldn't understand why.
He quickly ran over to his soulmate, it was too dangerous to dwell on it now.
"Vinny get up, we have to keep going," Oliver said and avoided looking at her head. He pulled Vinny to his feet but the vampire felt so overwhelmed and so traumatised that he turned and threw up all over the snow.
Oliver rubbed his back, he didn't know were Madison and Duke were. They would surely break down if they saw their daughter like this.
As Vinny continued to be sick, Luka and Rayvon charged towards the demon leader.
He hellhound glanced behind him as Mila launched towards them, but Rayvon revealed his power just in time.
He lifted a hand and immediately pushed her out of the way.
This slowed him down but little Luka had found his confidence and ran straight into the demon leader.
He was knocked off balance and fell while Luka grabbed the instrument.
He turned and threw it to Rayvon, just as the demon leader grabbed him.
"Say goodbye" He growled and grabbed his neck. His eyes were black and he was full of sinister intentions.
He positioned his hands to snap the half angels neck but just as he did so, Rayvon launched the instrument at him in desperation.
The heavy clamp hit him straight in the face.
He dropped Luka and stumbled back.
Rayvon steadied his soulmate but Mila picked the instrument back up.
"Admit it, you've lost" She yelled with a smirk. "You can't beat us."
The world around the kids was chaos. People were dying, blood was spilt, limbs were lost and it was all for them. They couldn't lose. They felt too pressured to do everything in their power to succeed.
They had a destiny and today, they would fulfill it.
"I love you Rayvon," Luka thought.
"I love you too."
They glanced at one another and now, it was time to unleash their powers but just as they were about to get started, Mila stabbed the air with the instrument and slashed it down, creating a huge tear in the fabric of the two worlds.
Everything seemed to jump off balance as Luka flew in one direction and Rayvon flew in the other.
The tear instantly wobbled and suddenly opened up.
It made a loud noise, stopping everyone in their tracks.
Vinny was on his knees and breathing heavy from what he just witnessed. His sister died to protect him and he was actually really struggling to deal with seeing her in such a horrific way.
But he and Oliver turned to see what that loud noise was.
The ground was lightly vibrating as Luka and Rayvon landed about twenty meters apart.
The rest of the family had also stopped and watched with terror. The demons have done it, they've opened a tear too fast and the fabric between the two worlds was going to collapse.
But this couldn't be it, could it?
The demons can't just win like this.
Luka scrambled to his feet and watched Rayvon do the same.
They were too far apart and the noise was too loud for them to shout.
"Luka, don't panic. I can still feel the power rising. We need to use it somehow" Rayvon thought.
"I think it'll be stronger if we try and connect ours together somehow," Luka thought back.
They didn't know what they were doing. Life doesn't come with an instruction manual.
But this, it felt right. They knew they should connect their power.
"I feel like I just need to come into contact with you to connect."
Just then, the tear turned until a hole, exposing a deep black colour that was forcing the weather to turn crazy.
Gale force winds, extremely dark clouds and the threat of a thunderstorm lay ahead.
Everyone gawked at this hole and rubbed their eyes. It looked insane to just be sitting there in mid air.
But the sky was getting gloomier by the second and the atmosphere felt very tense.
Nobody knew what would happen to this world if the fabric was to collapse.
But Rayvon and Luka were not prepared to find out.
They watched each other from across the field. The world around them instantly muffled while their concentration was strongly fixed together.
"Luka, let's save the world."
They both let a smile appear. That was cheesy but it's exactly what they're about to do.
Well, try to do.
When the tear began to get bigger, they started running.
They needed to reunite in order to truly connect and expose the strengths of this power.
John, Jed, Corey, Panuleon, Zachariah, Duke, Madison, Oliver and Vinny all watched as the kids ran.
The demons were too startled by the tear to stop them.
But they didn't know that as they sprinted through the snow, the power was overtaking them both.
This was the moment that would decide if the kids had what it takes.
This was the moment that decided their future.
Are they really the miracle kids?
The demon leader saw what they were going to do and tried running towards Luka. He was little and he could easily wipe him out but the power wouldn't allow him to get close.
As the kids got nearer, they started leaving a faint trail of gold behind them as their eyes shined bright and swirled with power.
Oliver pulled Vinny to his feet as every Vampire, human and Demon watched with fear, wonder, and amazement.
The pressure was building, the tension was getting stronger and the kids were almost there.
They were so close.
Just a few more meters and they will connect.
Everyone held their breaths. They didn't know what to expect but neither did Rayvon and Luka as they held out their hands, getting ready.
Their purpose was here.
Their time to shine was now.
Then,
They connected.
They threw their hands in the air and pushed them together, intertwining their fingers in the process.
A huge explosion of gold, bust from within them and rippled through the field.
It affected everyone but the family.
They stood and watched with open mouths and wide eyes.
Huge gold electric bolts of lightning were coming from the kids as they cried out but remained strong. The power was tearing them down but it was killing every demon around them as they were struck with the electricity.
The hole was starting to close.
Nobody knew how they were doing it but it was working.
Luka felt like everything inside of him was forcing a way out and it hurt.
Rayvon squeezed his soulmate's hands. He couldn't control the amount of power that came out of him. He couldn't stop it but he knew it was working.
This is what the angels were talking about.
They said to Oliver and Corey when they were pregnant that their kids will form a bond that was so strong, it would hopefully win the great war.
And here they are today, eighteen thousand years later and putting the angel's theory to the test.
The sky was erupting a gold thunderstorm and it was the most magnificent thing anyone has witnessed.
It looked so magical.
Thunder crackled through the sky as the furious wind grew stronger.
Everyone who was watching fell to the ground for protection. It was too strong as the couples gripped one another for comfort.
But they couldn't stop watching.
The kids had taken this war and made it theirs.
They were doing everything they could and they were giving everything they could.
The energy, the emotions, the time and effort were pouring into the sky and mending the fabric of the two worlds.
But was it too much?
It might be for Luka's little body but they were holding on, right until the very end. They needed to know if they had done it.
Have they won the war or have they just put up a damn good fight?
Mila and the Demon leader clutched their heads and screamed with the rest of the hell-hounds.
The power had started to disintegrate everyone who was already dead and every demon.
Vinny glanced at Scarlet's body but it was starting to disappear.
"No" He breathed and crawled over to it.
Oliver watched as he held it in his arms and tried to hold on to her, but she was fading.
"Don't take her!" Vinny shouted. How're they supposed to give her a proper funeral without a body? But she kept fading until the vampire was hugging himself.
Oliver's heart dropped while he crawled over and comforted him.
"Shhhh" He whispered and rocked him slowly. Vinny sobbed into his shoulder. He never thought he would be so upset about her death but she was starting to change and he believed he could've found the sister who he always wished she was.
But she sacrificed herself for him and now he felt responsible.
Duke and Madison glanced at their son from across the field.
They didn't know what he was so upset about but it was worrying them so much.
Who have they lost?
Vinny very rarely cries and they knew it must be someone important.
They knew their relatives were fighting too and they were scared to see who was hurt, dead or barely hanging on.
Luka and Rayvon were pushing, harder and harder.
They were desperate to finish this, they had to let go of the power.
It was too much for their minds but they were doing something incredible.
They had the strengths to save the two worlds and heaven as well.
Nobody else will ever get the chance or the opportunity. The kids will go down in history and they'll become the most respected people in the world.
And also, heaven.
Everyone continued to watch as the hole got smaller and smaller.
The wind was still strong, the thunder and lightning were still crackling everywhere. The pure noise of pain, sorrow, and energy echoed through the air.
Nobody barely had room to think, it was so loud.
But just as the kids came to their final stance, the hole closed.
It vanished as quickly as it came and within seconds, the noise stopped, the clouds disappeared and so did every demon, ready to serve their time underneath the gates of hell.
Rayvon and Luka collapsed into each other.
They were done.
They couldn't have given anything else but they did it.
They won the war.
