Chapter 60

Luka and Vinny watched one another. They knew that what just came out of his mouth was very true but everyone else seemed to freak out.

"How could you possibly think that?" Madison asked. "Part demon? That's ridiculous."

Oliver watched while his soulmate chewed the inside of his lip.

"Vinny, why are you not saying anything?"

The vampire sat back against the chair. He didn't want to believe it but he was stupid enough to drink from a demon.

Rayvon let Luka rest his back into his stomach while he softly rubbed his chest, just keeping him calm.

"I don't know how you know this, but don't freak out if our grandparents don't believe you," Rayvon thought.

Vinny then looked down to his hands. He could still feel the anger rising. But he was scared, what if being part demon meant that he couldn't control his anger anymore.

He has always had anger issues and he has mostly been able to suppress his feelings.

"I don't want to be that person" He mumbled.

Oliver now looked concerned. He could see the emotion on Vinny's face and not just his eyes.

That was rare.

"Vinny, is this true?"

The vampire let out a sigh and looked up. His parents were watching and they looked worried too.

"I think so, I feel angry when I have no reason to be. I definitely feel a bit different and I would find it perfectly acceptable to seriously hurt someone right now."

He was saying the truth.

Oliver was beginning to feel his rage so he put an arm around his shoulders.

"Maybe it's just psychological" He nodded, trying to reassure himself.

"I can feel it," Luka said, making everyone look at him again. "I can feel that you're only a little bit demon but it'll affect your anger problems."

He then blinked a few times, he didn't even know what he was talking about. He just knew that he was right.

"Luka, how do you know this?" Duke asked.

"I don't know," He said quietly. "But-"

"I can feel it too" Rayvon interrupted. "It's not my own feelings, I'm getting it from Lu. But I know he's telling the truth."

Just then, Panuleon and Corey walked in with happy smiles. They were unaware of what was going on until Panuleon sensed a demon.

He froze and looked in a panic.

"There's a demon close by. I can feel it."

Corey then panicked but Vinny quickly stood up.

"It's me."

The couple stopped. Did they hear him right?

"What's you?" Corey asked but the angel started to see it too.

He took a moment, just watching him and letting his angel senses do the job of scoping out his aura. It doesn't come to him as easily as Luka's does.

He then walked over to the vampire and without asking, He placed a hand on his forehead.

"I see what's happening here."

Duke and Madison were lost. They needed explanations right now.

"I was right to be worried that you drank the demon blood but Vinny, you can't be turning part demon. I just thought it would make you ill or your body would reject the blood."

"His body is doing the opposite," Panuleon said. "It's letting the demon blood seep in."

Duke ran a hand through his hair. He should've expected this.

"But now what? What does this mean for Vinny? Is it changing him in any way?"

"I think it's going to affect your anger the most. Demons are vicious creatures and they thrive off of their evil feelings. I'm not saying that you'll end up like that, you're too pure to be one of them. This is just a small amount that's changing you. But you won't understand what's wrong or right. Demons use violence for anything and If I'm correct, you'll see that as the only way too."

Oliver then watched as the panic flashed through Vinny's eyes.

"I know I'm angry already, I'm moody and I don't know when I'm insulting someone or not but I have a limit. Are you saying that now, that limit has gone?"

"I'm not saying that it has gone completely but it will definitely extend."

"Panuleon, I don't want a demon inside of me."

The angel took his hand from his head and rested it on his shoulders.

"It's alright, I can teach you how to meditate and to do your best to block it out."

"Wait," Madison said. She really didn't want to accept this information. "Are you saying this is permanent?"

"I think so."

Panuleon watched as Vinny slowly sat back down. He was still feeling angry and just wanted to lash out but if he wasn't so worried, he probably would've smashed something.

"I'm such an idiot" He grumbled.

"You're not," Oliver said and took his hand. "You drunk the demons blood because you didn't want to drink from me and I know you craved my blood more. I know you'd be really disappointed in yourself if you had my blood instead."

Vinny could always count on his soulmate to make him feel better.

"But I feel disgusting" He admitted. "I don't want anything to do with demons. But now I'm part of one."

Saying that made him feel a little sick.

Nobody really knew how to respond. First, he gets kidnapped for two years and is left to survive on his own in another world.

And now this?

Doesn't the poor guy get a break?

"I don't think it's a big problem" Oliver then said. He made everyone in the room look at him with shock. "I mean, part demon and vampire? How bad-ass do you want to be Vinny? Leave some for the rest of us."

This brought a smile to Rayvon's expressions. That's good old Oliver, joking around again.

Vinny watched his face, seeing that little sparkle in his big eyes.

"How do you see the positives in everything?" He asked. "I wish I could see it like that."

"So what if you're angrier, more violent or carry the traits of a devious demon. If you're being out of line or need to shut up, I'll tell you."

"I've tried so hard to tame my anger issues, I don't want it to be out of control."

"I'm more than sure I can help Vinny" Panuleon stepped in. "Like I said, meditation will calm you. I'm sure of it."

Something then changed within the vampire, he wasn't going to sit here and become part hell-hound. There's no way he'd give that demon the satisfaction of turning him this way.

"No," He said bluntly and looked up. "I'm not going to let this happen to me. I've been through too much, I'm not going through this too."

Oliver could then see the determination on his face, but he could still feel the anger.

"I don't think there's-"

"Shut up Panuleon" Vinny snapped. His demon side revealed itself. "I'm getting it out of me and I'm doing it now."

Oliver didn't have time to react, nobody thought Vinny was going to do that.

The vampire turned and picked up a bread knife.

His eyes were glazed over with desperation and demon madness.

So without thinking, he sliced deeply into his wrist.

"Vinny what the hell!" Duke shouted but Vinny gave him no time to react as he quickly put the knife in his other hand and slit the opposite wrist too.

Oliver gasped as his soulmate stood back when Panuleon tried taking his arms to heal him.

"Nobody touch me" He grumbled. "I'm going to bleed until all the demon blood is out of my system."

"Vinny are you crazy!?" Oliver asked. His eyes traced the red, seeping from his soulmate's wrists and dripping onto the floor.

"No, Vinny this is too dangerous. Let me heal you" Panuleon said and tried again to take his arms but Vinny pushed him back.

"I don't care, I'm a vampire and nothing else."

Everyone watched in horror.

"Vinny please," Oliver said. "You're putting our lives in danger."

If Vinny ended up losing not only too much blood but his life as well, Oliver would die with him.

"I'm sorry," He was beginning to feel light-headed. "I couldn't see a way out."

Duke ran a hand through his hair but this might actually work.

"I can't believe you've just done this," He said and let a steady breath out. "Panuleon, can you tell when there's no more demon blood in him anymore?"

"Yes, I can already sense the demon aura fading."

Vinny blinked slowly. He was beginning to see double while the blood carried on running down his hands and ruined the floor.

"Right, well as soon as it has all gone, you're drinking my blood. You can't fill yourself up with human blood, it'll make you sick."

It is not the first time Vinny has drank from his dad. When he was really little, he used to drink a bit of his dad's blood and a bit of human blood.

He used to be scared of human blood and that was the only way Duke could fulfil his son's cravings on his annual blood day.

"Okay" Vinny breathed but he was beginning to look pale. Oliver's eyes were so worried, what a foolish thing for his vampire to do. "Don't touch me until the demon blood is gone."

"I can't believe you would risk your life like this Vinny. Your son is in the same room!" Madison said. She was angry at him. This is so dangerous and he just carelessly hurt himself in front of everyone.

But maybe it wasn't Vinny who made these actions, maybe it was the demon within.

"Stop making me feel bad. Do you really want a son that's part demon?"

He was beginning to stumble and his face now looked really pale.

"You are what you are. We love you no matter who you turn out to be" She was trying not to freak out. There was a lot of blood that had escaped his body.

"Not a demon though mum, I would- I would hate myself."

He then collapsed to the floor but held a hand up, stopping Oliver from getting close.

"Not until the demon blood has gone."

"You're about half way there," Panuleon said and nervously stepped from one foot to the other. Corey hated it when he was like this.

"Only half way?" Oliver asked. "But he has lost so much blood already!"

"The demon blood is spread out among his own. Do you not have any spare vampire blood? I fear that he'll drink too much of yours, Duke."

They hesitated, realising it was more than just two pint's that Vinny needed. It was much more.

"He can drink from me too," John said. If Vinny took two pints from every vampire, that should be almost enough.

"Yes, and me," Madison said but Vinny was starting to really struggle. He was on the verge of blacking out but he couldn't afford to do that. Not when he needed to replace the blood he is losing.

"And me," Rayvon said as Luka squeezed his hands.

"No" Vinny breathed while his head dropped down. "Not you Rayvon."

"Dad, I want to help you."

"No, I'm not hurting you. I'm your father."

Rayvon wanted to protest but he knew Vinny would never forgive himself for drinking his blood, just like he never forgave himself for drinking Oliver's blood, all that time ago.

"Panuleon, has it gone yet?" Oliver asked. Vinny was barely able to keep his head up or his eyes open. He was white as a sheet and struggling to breathe normally.

"Almost."

"How long?" The vampire breathed.

"Less than a minute, keep your eyes open. You need to be awake to drink."

Madison and Duke were hovering on their toes. Their son was so close to fully collapsing and there wasn't much they could do right now.

But they were angry at him. He chose to do this in front of everyone and worry not only his husband but his son too.

They didn't quite understand that it wasn't Vinny, it was the demon inside of him that was very close to being sucked out, just like the rest of his blood.

Panuleon then placed a hand on the Vampires head and sighed in relief.

"It's gone, there's no more demon left in you."

Vinny could barely hear him as the angel took his wrists and started to heal him.

Duke knelt in front if him and held his wrist close to his mouth but his son's eyes were not even open.

"Show your fangs son, you need to drink my blood" Duke shook his shoulder but his head was dropping lower. "Open your eyes."

Vinny didn't have any energy left.

Oliver knelt by his other side and took his face in his hands. He was beginning to freak out.

"Vinny you need to drink Duke's blood, right now."

His heart was slowly beginning to feel empty, he could feel his soulmate's life slipping through his fingers.

But the vampire was unresponsive. With very little Blood, life and breath left in him,

He fell limp, right into Oliver's arms.
