When Vinny entered the dining room, his eyes fell on the demon leader but his chest and soul was screaming at him.

His soulmate was in the same room.

He looked around and when his eyes connected with Oliver, his heart broke a little more.

He saw how emotionally and physically run down he was. He looked so depressed and he could instantly see that he had lost weight.

"Oliver" He whispered.

He couldn't spend another second away from him.

He took a step in his direction but as soon as he did so, the demon pulled out a weapon from his inside pocket.

Jed turned but he wasn't quick enough. He was too surprised that Vinny was there.

The demon fired his weapon but the vampire turned and raised his hand.

The bullet from the gun stopped in mid air.

Vinny's eyes were gold as he glared at him.

"Do you think I've gone through all of that and made it back home to be killed?"

Vinny's deep voice buried its way into Oliver's heart and Rayvon had to hold onto him. He couldn't go to him right now, not when the power was on the surface and not when the demon was armed.

Yes, he was over the moon that his dad was finally home and he wanted to hug him and never let go. But he needed to make sure that everybody was safe first.

The demon immediately dropped the gun and held his hands in the air.

He almost forgot about this power.

Everybody watched with so many mixed emotions.

They've never seen the power rise within Vinny before and they were quite shocked that he turned it on so easily. He seemed to have it under control. 

Vinny waved his hand and the demon collapsed to the ground. He couldn't breathe.

"I told you I would make you suffer."

Jed took a few steps back as the demon clutched his throat and tried gasping for air.

Oliver didn't even register what was going on, he had to be with his soulmate again. He was staring at him and blinking, hoping it wasn't just another sleep deprived hallucination.

"Vinny" He whispered. They had to be together right now.

The Vampire knew that if he looked at Oliver, his power would be lost and he would have to go to him.

But he needed him right away and Jed could handle the demon now that he was unarmed.

So he looked.

He took his concentration from the hell-hound on the floor, letting the air back into his lungs.

His eyes instantly turned back to their beautiful chocolate brown ones when he glanced at those big green eyes.

Orin jumped from his grip and wandered over to the demon.

That's when everyone noticed her.

A black cat blends in well with Vinny's clothes.

Duke and Madison shared a quick glance but they didn't actually care for now. They wanted to engulf their son but he and Oliver needed time to re-connect.

Vinny stumbled slightly, he was feeling unbelievably weak.

This is when Rayvon let go of Oliver who stood up.

The vampire collapsed to his knees, making Duke stand up with worry and concern.

"Come here" He whispered as Olivers trembling hands let go of the chair. "I don't have the strength."

To see him in the flesh gave Oliver enough energy to continue this hurtful journey right into his lover's arms.

With one heavy step in front of the other, he got closer and closer.

He was beginning to smell his scent as Vinny opened his arms. He was so desperate not to feel the pain anymore.

Everyone watched this moment. It would be one that nobody forgot.

When the boys were close enough, Oliver collapsed right into his Vampire's arms.

It felt like every emotion they have ever shared was brought back to the surface and filled their minds.

Vinny instantly wrapped his arms around him and pulled him as close as he could get. He rested his chin on his shoulder and pushed the sides of their faces together while the tears came.

He made no attempt to stop them from falling.

Oliver gripped him like he was scared he would disappear if he wasn't holding tight enough. He was breathing heavy and trying so hard not to break down on him but he has waited for this moment for too long.

Vinny didn't think this would happen, not today.

When he woke up in that cave he had psychologically steadied himself to get through the day.

Now he didn't need to do anything, he was home.

"Remember to breathe" He whispered but for Oliver to hear those words became too much.

He burst into tears and gripped him even harder.

He sobbed into his neck and continued to try and get closer.

"It hurt so much Vinny" He sobbed.

The vampires lip trembled slightly as he ran his hands through his soulmates hair.

"I-I know" He breathed.

Their chests were pushed together and they could feel the loneliness, the heartache and the sorrow clearing away from their heads.

It was like the constant fog was beginning to lift.

The pulling sensation was finally beginning to mellow as Oliver's cries of joy echoed through the room.

Jed was kneeling on the demon. His arms were behind his back and the angel was making sure it was incredibly uncomfortable for him.

"I missed- I missed you so much" Oliver's words were barely audible but Vinny could understand him perfectly.

"Let me look at you," He said and pulled their heads away.

He cupped his face with his hands as they inspected one another's tear stained face.

Yes, they looked a little different. They were broken and stripped right down to their raw emotions.

He could see that his soulmate struggled a lot more than him and needed mending right away.

"Oh Oliver," Vinny said as he began to get upset.

Just the thought of him suffering for so long was awful.

So he began to cry.

Vinny Vanderwood, the powerful, stubborn and angry vampire was crying.

It goes to show for everyone who was witnessing this just how much they went through.

They embraced one another again and this was phase one of re-building this bond. They would need to remain this close for the rest of the day to let it fully settle back to its normal strength.

"I'm so, so sorry" Vinny cried. "I can't believe I put you through this."

Oliver took in his comforts. Never in his life has he felt so desperate to cherish every little detail.

He was still trembling but now it was out of the excitement of being reunited. He almost couldn't believe it.

"I felt so alone" He whispered. "I tried to get through it, but it was too hard."

Everyone was watching with heavy hearts. Vinny was crying, Oliver was crying and it was just so emotional.

"Shhh, i-it's okay. I'm-I'm here now" Vinny hiccuped and pressed his face into Oliver's cheek.

They couldn't believe they were touching. They've dreamt of being this close. They almost forgot what their warmth felt like and what their skin felt like.

"I can't believe you're here," Oliver said and pulled his head back. He just had to look at his familiar face.

Vinny did have a bruised cheek and a bruised eye but the rest of him was absolutely perfect.

The vampire brought his face closer until there was a promise of a kiss.

Their bodies were begging for one, especially Vinny's.

After missing two mating seasons, he needed all the love he could get.

As their lips got close enough that they could feel each other's breath, there was nothing they wanted more.

They leant forwards until they felt the smooth touch of each other's lips brush against their own.

This made Vinny feel alive.

He has waited far too long to feel this and to taste that familiar taste of his soulmate.

They pushed closer together to seal a more heartfelt kiss.

But it was amazing. It felt like their very first kiss, all that time ago.

"I love you" Oliver mumbled against him.

"I love you too" Vinny whispered as they lingered their faces so close that their noses touched.

They then took a moment of cuddling. This was the first time where Oliver could breathe and not be stabbed with all of that horrific pain.

They didn't have a constant headache anymore and Oliver didn't feel as weak.

"Rayvon" Vinny then whispered and looked over Oliver's shoulder. His son was watching with a gentle smile but he missed him so much. "Rayvon, come here."

The half vampire immediately stood up and hurried over to his parents.

Oliver moved aside to let his sons big body embrace his father but he still clutched onto him. He couldn't separate that physical touch, not yet.

Vinny hugged his son so hard and buried his wet face into his shoulder.

"I'm sorry Rayvon" He breathed. "I can't imagine how worried you must have been."

"It's alright dad," He said and took in his familiar comforts. "I'm just so happy you're home."

Luka could feel his overpowering emotions of relief and happiness.

Everyone wanted to take their turn and hug Vinny, but Oliver and Rayvon were the most important people to get through first.

Vinny pulled back and cupped his son's face too so he could have a good look at him.

Rayvon watched those proud eyes scan him and he almost gave in to the lump in his throat.

"I love you so much Rayvon," Vinny said and hugged him again.

It was so nice to witness this reunion. Everyone had slowly gotten up and was walking over, getting ready to welcome him home.

But Vinny suddenly felt something. It was a sudden craving that overpowered everything he was feeling.

It sent shivers right through him and Rayvon felt him tense up.

He pulled his head back with wide and fearful eyes. This sudden realisation made him very scared.

"I need blood."
