581 years later.

The kids are one year and 2 months old.

"Biwd!" Luka said while pointing to the sky. "Biwd!"

"Can you see a bird, Luka?" Corey asked with a grin.

They were still surprised that Rayvon was his first word. But over the years, both boys have developed in their vocabulary.

They still couldn't say much but it was insanely cute when they did.

They could now walk on their own but Luka still falls over a lot and he walks better when someone's holding his hand, which is often Rayvon.

The kids have developed a very sweet relationship with each other.

As Rayvon is beginning to get stubborn and his favourite word is no, he's never mean to Luka. He shares his toys with him, he holds his hand when they're walking and they smile at each other constantly.

Rayvon calls him 'Lu' because he hasn't quite grasped the letter K.

Luka still calls him 'Wayvon'.

He still can't use his wings and he hasn't learned how to put them away yet, so Madison has had to make holes in all his little clothes so they can fit through comfortably.

Vinny was currently walking down the hallways as his son did the cute toddler walk in front of him.

He was slow and tripped often.

The staff watched the cute kid as he passed them.

"Hewo," Rayvon said and waved at a few random people.

Vinny smiled at him, feeling proud.

As he began to stumble, the vampire quickly leaned down and steadied him.

"Are you getting tired?" Vinny asked when Rayvon sat down.

He ignored his dad as he watched the busy life of the Vanderwood mansion pass him by.

"Shall we go see your dad?"

This got his attention.

The little boy started clapping and grinning excitedly.

"Da-da!"

"Okay," Vinny smiled and lifted him up.

"No, no, no!" Rayvon then said as he frowned at Vinny.

"What?" He chuckled. He found that frown very cute.

"Lu!"

"you want to go see Luka?"

Little Rayvon nodded and clapped his hands again.

"Lu!"

"Alright, let's go get your coat."

Luka, Panuleon, Corey and now Oliver were outside.

"It's so cute that he uses his wings to help him walk," Oliver said as they watched Luka stumble across the path.

"I wonder how Rayvon will react when he learns to put his wings away."

"He'll probably cry" Oliver chuckled. Luka's wings were his favourite thing.

Just then, the door to the gardens opened and Vinny walked out with a very excited child.

"Lu!"

Luka turned but fell over.

They were grinning at each other as Vinny brought him over.

"Wayvon."

He stood Rayvon up in front of him.

He immediately walked over and stumbled into Luka.

Everyone watched as the kids fell over but hugged each other at the same time.

This caused even Vinny to laugh.

He left the boys to it and walked over to his soulmate.

Oliver's big smile warmed his heart as they hugged each other.

He pulled back and gave him a long kiss on the lips.

Vinny's gaze wandered around his face and back to his soulmates big and beautiful eyes.

They watched each other for a happy few seconds before they were snapped back into the real world.

The kids were helping each other up and holding each other's hand.

"Do you think they can sense that they're soulmates?" Corey asked.

"I'd like to think so, they're very cute towards each other" Oliver smiled while putting his hand in Vinny's coat pocket.

"I love that they get to grow up together."

"Me too," Vinny said.

He liked the idea of his son having a friend throughout his childhood.

Just then, the door opened and Madison walked out with some friends of hers.

Vinny recognised them but Oliver didn't.

"Hello boys" She beamed.

She then introduced the two ladies to everyone.

They were called Meredith and Nancy.

"These two ladies used to look after Vinny when he was a kid and they wanted to look after the boys for a few hours," Madison said while looking at her son.

"No," Vinny said bluntly.

These two were extremely strict and not very pleasant to be around.

"Manners Vincent" Meredith said in a familiar tone that made the vampire want to smother her with a pillow.

"It's Vinny" He grumbled.

"Now don't be that way, Nancy and I shall look after your children while you have a break. End of."

The boys could see Vinny visibly tensing as Meredith got closer to his child.

Luka and Rayvon were sitting on the floor, giving little pebbles to each other.

Without a word, Meridith picked up Rayvon.

Immediately he started squirming and throwing a little tantrum because he wanted to be with Luka.

"Be quiet!" Meridith said sternly.

Of course, Rayvon didn't listen to that, he didn't understand.

"Da-da" He whined and reached for Oliver.

"No," Meridith said and looked at Vinny.

"He clearly needs a bit of work. I understand this is your first child so not to worry that your parenting skills are not there yet."

Oliver raised his eyebrows at that, finding himself highly offended.

"Excuse me-"

"Boys, how about you go on a date together? You haven't done that for a while" Madison interrupted Oliver.

She knew these ladies are a little strict but they were great babysitters for Vinny and a lot of other children.

Yes, they're a tiny bit mean but the baby is in safe hands.

Although, Madison didn't know that these ladies like to do it the old school way, the punishment way.

"No," Vinny said again and walked over to get his son.

"Vincent, you're not getting him back. Just go and leave us to look after you child for a few hours."

"No, give me my son."

"Vinny," Madison said. "He'll be fine, he's just getting stroppy because these are new people."

Panuleon and Corey didn't want to leave Luka with them either as they watched Nancy pick up their child.

Of course, Luka is extremely shy and started to whimper and reach out for his dad's.

"He doesn't like new people," Corey said and went over to comfort his child but Nancy took a step back.

"It's fine, I've got it under control."

Panuleon frowned, he didn't like their vibes.

They clearly thought that they were not great parents and have come to straighten out their kids.

Madison didn't remember Meredith and Nancy being quite this strict and opinionated and it was quickly turning into a bad idea.

"I know you may be concerned, your children have never met us before but I can assure you that we'll look after them."

"But I don't want you to," Vinny said and glared at the woman.

"Stop being so childish and go and spend some time with your soulmate," Meredith said before turning and walking towards the dining room.

Oliver and Vinny shared a glance with the other couple. Nobody wanted to leave their children with the women but they weren't as brave as Vinny to speak up about it.

Madison wasn't quite sure what to do now. They came for a visit because she hadn't seen them in so many years but getting them to look after the kids was definitely a bad idea.

Rayvon was copying his dad and frowning at Meredith while Luka was still getting upset and trying to reach for his parents.

"Boys, just go for half an hour and come back" Madison whispered so the ladies didn't hear.

All of them hesitated, but half an hour wasn't that long.

"Twenty minutes" Vinny mumbled, clearly angry.

Oliver took his hand but he was still a little offended.

"Bye Rayvon," He said with a smile and waved at his son.

"No!" Rayvon whined and tried squirming again. "Da-da."

Oliver's heart was breaking as the poor boy reached for his parents again.

Luka's bottom lip was trembling while Nancy held onto his wings so he couldn't flap them.

"Come on, just go. It'll be harder for him if we speak" Panuleon said as he held Corey's shoulders and guided him through the room.

They could hear their child's whimpers getting louder but it was only twenty minutes.

Slowly, Vinny and Oliver followed, feeling glum and still a bit angry.

Madison followed the boys out of the room, feeling incredibly guilty.

When the door closed behind them, they all stopped and took a moment.

"Boys I'm sorry, I thought that would be a good idea. I didn't think they would be like that."

"It's okay Madison, you didn't know," Panuleon said and his calming words helped her mind to settle.

"Were they like that when I left them to babysit you and scarlet?" She asked her son.

"No, they were scared of me and would only pay attention to Scarlet."

"They were scared of little Vincent?" Oliver questioned, trying to get light out of this situation.

"If I hear Vincent one more time today I will hurt someone. Preferably Meredith."

"Vincent, you can not say that" Oliver grinned.

"Shut up Oliver or you're not getting dessert on our date."

"Alright, you don't have to be so mean" Oliver joked, creating everyone to chuckle.

They gave each other amused glances but in the back of their mind, they still hated to leave their child with those two.

"Right, go on. Have a little break and come back" Madison said before turning and walking down the corridor.

"Let's just go for lunch and we can have a date tonight" Oliver suggested, knowing his dad would love to look after Rayvon.

"Okay," Vinny said and put an arm around his shoulders. "Would you like to join us?" He asked the other couple.

"Sure" Corey smiled and took Panuleon's hand.

20 minutes later.

Vinny got up to go and get the children.

Nobody would be brave enough to stand up to them if they refused to give them back.

As he walked down the corridor, he could see Jed standing outside the dining room.

He felt glad that he was watching out for the children but he wasn't in the room and couldn't see what was going on.

As he got to the door, he simply opened it and entered. But what he saw next would make his blood run cold.

"No, Luka, that is wrong!" Meredith shouted and smacked the boys cheek.

Vinny stopped and widened his eyes.

The child burst into tears as Rayvon tried crawling to him but Nancy wouldn't let them be together.

"What the hell do you think you're doing!" Vinny roared and quickly jogged over to little Luka.

He reached out for Vinny as he pushed Meredith aside and picked him up.

He then walked over to his son and picked him up too.

Luka was still crying and Rayvon looked a little troubled.

"How dare you hurt this innocent child."

Meredith crossed her arms, just as John walked in.

He didn't recognise Meredith or Nancy.

"Vinny, are you okay?" He asked He could tell that he was extremely angry.

"Can you make sure these child abusers leave immediately?" He asked through gritted teeth.

He looked at Rayvon and Luka who he was carrying, one on each arm.

"Of course."

John could see a red mark appearing on Luka's face and he hoped to god it wasn't from what he thought it was.

Vinny then turned and walked out.

He was trying to stay calm, he had two children in his arms who needed comforting.

Jed watched as he stomped down the corridor with Luka still crying against his shoulder.

Vinny carried on walking until he was outside the kitchen doors.

He stopped and let Luka hug him.

"Its okay" He soothed. "Let me see."

He put Rayvon down on a cabinet so his head came up to Vinny's shoulder.

The baby sat down patiently as he watched Luka.

Vinny lifted the baby's head from his shoulder and wiped away his tears.

He smiled, knowing it was important for him to see that everything was now okay.

He rubbed his little red cheek and gave him a kiss on his forehead.

He then picked up his son and gave him a kiss too.

"Let's go see your dads," He said softly and opened the kitchen doors.

Luka's wings flapped with excitement as he continued to hiccup from crying so hard.

Vinny walked over to the table in the corner and ignored the public who were taking pictures and awing at the children.

Corey and Panuleon could see how upset their child was and couldn't wait to have him in their arms.

Vinny sat down and handed Luka to Panuleon. He had to tell them what happened.

"She hit your son."

The boys stopped and looked at the Vampire.

"She did what?" Corey questioned.

"I walked in and Meredith hit Luka on his cheek. John's making sure they're leaving."

Oliver could feel his anger.

Panuleon looked down to his hiccuping child who was gripping his t-shirt. He could see his red cheek and he had to swallow the lump in his throat.

"You poor thing," He said and hugged him tight.

Corey rubbed the baby's back and watched Rayvon.

"Did she hurt him too?"

"I don't think so."

Oliver felt awful for Luka but tickled Rayvon, making him giggle. He needed to see happy faces.

Who in their right minds would hurt a small child like that?

Especially one as fragile as Luka.

Well, Vinny could think of at least one other person.
