When John walked up to the dining room, Jed was standing at his usual post, just outside the door.

his heart started thumping as their eye's connected.

"Good morning John" Jed said in his usual, cheerful way. His smile was like a stomp to John's heart because he knew he couldn't simply embrace him.

He could put an end to this and just tell everyone. But nobody suspects a thing and it will be the topic for weeks or maybe even months. He didn't want to deal with the attention.

"Morning" He said, just as Jed saw that look of pain in his eyes at not being able to show his affection.

As he walked passed, his fingers traced so discretely against the back of Jed's hand but it was enough to somewhat calm him down.

He felt his skin and now he could get through his morning.

Jed's face remained mutual although he was trying not to beam from ear to ear.

Everyone was already in the dining room, having their breakfast.

Oliver was gazing lovingly into Vinny's eyes as he tried eating his breakfast, knowing he couldn't resist and would have to kiss him, yet again.

Their morning was rather active in the bedroom, but they were eager to come down and see what the boys were like together.

Luka and Rayvon could not stop kissing.

They couldn't even let go of each other's hand and had to get dressed right next to each other this morning.

But the other one turned away to give them their privacy, but disconnecting that physical touch was too much for their soul to handle.

Right now, they were sitting at the other end of the table because Vinny failed to keep in Oliver's excitement when they shared a few kisses.

Rayvon loved his parents and he knows Oliver can't help it and he tries his best to keep it all in, he's just incapable sometimes and it embarrasses him.

"I can't hold it back" Luka thought.

They had shared some kisses because they had to but they were keeping back what they really wanted to do, purely for their parents sake.

They had to kiss passionately, it was the only way they would be able to actually calm down enough to eat their breakfast.

John sat next to Panuleon and Corey at the table, he was opposite Duke and Madison who were holding hands and looking happy.

"So you three are the only one's who are not affected by mating season" Duke chuckled as he looked to his side and saw Vinny kissing Oliver with rather a lot of love.

John swallowed back his feelings and smiled like he always does.

Panuleon glanced at John, every mating season he can see his slight sadness behind the fake smiles and wondered if he wished that he wasn't alone.

Rayvon could not hold it back any more and cupped Luka's chin before pushing their lips together.

Luka's wings exposed and knocked a lot of things over on the table but he didn't care, this needed to be done.

Corey watched with raised eyebrows.

Their kiss was nothing short of passionate. They looked so in love and he felt so happy that they both felt it, not just Rayvon.

When they wrapped their arms around each other and continued to kiss like there was no tomorrow, Vinny and Oliver pulled away, just so they could second glance at the commotion.

"They have a whole week of this" Madison said, also trying to keep down her happiness. "But Rayvon seems to be in his element."

They all know just how flirty and affectionate Vinny is so it doesn't surprise them that Rayvon's taking the same path.

Luka kept his pace, he was starting to get used to kissing like this.

Panuleon put his arm around Corey and kissed his temple.

"They grew up so fast didn't they?"

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Vinny and Oliver still pictured them as toddlers but they're sixteen. They're not little kids anymore.

John's mind was eating away at him, he was the only person in the room who was alone.

But he wasn't, his soulmate was standing just outside the door.

"I'm going for a walk" He said and stood up. Oliver watched him, detecting that he was maybe a tiny bit miserable.

His gaze followed his dad as he walked through the room and headed into the gardens.

"He's lonely, I think" Oliver said. "It must be hard for him when mating season comes around because he's surrounded by couples."

"I know, maybe we should get him to go on dates. He might not find the one but at least he can have a bit of fun again" Duke suggested.

Oliver's eyes almost popped out of his head.

"That's a great idea!"

Vinny's gaze never left Oliver's face, not for one second. But the kids were still kissing and that was exciting to see.

"Panuleon, are angels good at match making?" He asked.

"We're good at sensing whether people are good or bad. I used to get mixed feelings when I looked at Vinny."

Everyone chuckled as even Vinny smirked.

"I sometimes did bad things with good intentions."

Oliver slyly looked him up and down. He loved his bad side and would admit that he's very attracted to Vinny's dark aura.

"Since when?" Duke snorted.

Vinny's glare sent daggers in his direction.

"'Good' and 'Vinny' should not exist in the same sentence."

Vinny rolled his eyes and went back to staring at Oliver until he gave him permission for a snog.

He acts all high and mighty but in reality, Oliver had him wrapped around his little finger.

"But anyway" Oliver said as he chuckled at Vinny's begging eyes. "We should get the angels to pick him a date if you're good at sensing nice people."

"That'll give Jed something to do" Duke chuckled.

"Perfect!" Oliver almost shouted and sprinted around the table.

Vinny watched and moodily crossed his arms. He hated it when all of his attention wasn't on him in mating season.

Oliver quickly opened the door, almost startling the angel.

"Jed I have a very important job for you" He grinned.

Jed chuckled, knowing this would be interesting if it was coming from Oliver.

"What is it?" He asked.

"You have to help me find John a date."

Jed's heart almost exploded as his mind instantly went numb.

He very nearly dropped the smile from his face but remained cool, even though his insides were screaming.

"A date?" He asked and cleared his throat.

"Yes" Oliver beamed. "We need to find him a girlfriend. I don't like that he's alone when he's around so many couples."

Jed's heart was beating so fast. He was beginning to feel a little jealous and nothing has even happened yet. John was his soulmate, he couldn't go on dates with other people!

But nobody could know, so he had to pretend like everything was okay.

"When are you thinking about doing this?"

"If we search for someone today, we can get him on a date tonight" Oliver said. He didn't know why he hasn't thought of this before.

His dad deserved to be happy but Oliver's mind was going too fast. He couldn't see what was already happening around him.

"Have you told John about this?" Jed asked, his smile was starting to alter and he needed a moment alone and soon.

love is a funny emotion. It can fill you with Joy and happiness, but it can also fill you with sadness and frustration.

"No, I should probably do that. Or maybe I'll just surprise him" Oliver chuckled.

Jed's chest was beginning to feel tight. He has never felt glum like this before and needed a moment of composure.

"I just need to stretch my wings for a little while. Excuse me Oliver" He smiled but didn't give him a chance to say anything before he disappeared.

Oliver stared at that spot for a moment, but he didn't see Jed's face the way Panuleon or Vinny would've seen it.

Jed landed in the garden and stumbled a little bit. He was emotional and didn't like it.

Angels never show this side of themselves and these were very new feelings to him.

John looked up from the bench he was sitting on and saw Jed lean an arm against the wall. He stood up when his face wasn't it's usual, happy self.

Jed's heart ached. He kept picturing John and some woman growing close and he really didn't want that to happen.

"What's wrong?" John asked.

Jed looked up, not realising he was there but thankful that he was.

He stepped forwards and wrapped his arms around him.

John instantly did the same but he was concerned, Jed never looked like this.

"What's wrong?" He asked again.

"Oliver only wants what's best for you, but he doesn't know" Jed muffled into his shoulder.

"What're you talking about?" John asked and rubbed his back.

"He want's to set you up on a date and he asked me to help, but John, I don't like feeling this way."

John frowned and pulled the angel's head up so he could see his eyes.

"How do you feel?" He asked softly.

"I feel sad."

The world around them grew silent. For an angel to feel sad was a pretty important thing.

John took the sides of his face and stared deep into his eyes.

"You have nothing to worry about. I'm yours, you'll never lose me to anyone else."

The angel took a few deep breaths and nodded, reassuring himself.

"If you're struggling to keep it a secret, then we'll tell everyone. But no matter how much Oliver nags me to do this, I will never go on a date with anyone but you."

Jed felt so happy to hear that. He could almost laugh with relief.

He then cuddled back into John, knowing he would like that.

"I'm feeling calm again."

"Good" John chuckled. "It's only normal for people to experience things like this."

Jed nodded against his shoulder as he felt himself settle down.

The vampire closed his eyes and really took in his comfort, knowing they couldn't stay together for long.

"I don't mind keeping this a secret, it just gets hard when it feels more like a sacrifice."

"I know, I'm really struggling this mating season."

Jed pulled his head back and studied John's face.

"I won't tell anyone and I'll keep it hidden until you're comfortable for everyone to know. But when will that be?" He asked.

"Hopefully soon. I know we won't get rejection, but I know we'll get a lot of attention and that's what's pulling me away from telling everyone" John sighed. "But seeing you like this made me realise that this relationship is important and I can't keep pushing it aside anymore."

Jed's eyes then looked a little hopeful. After getting his emotions muddled like that, it made him realise that he's more than okay to reveal their secret.

They smiled and leaned forwards until their foreheads leant against each other.

"You're important to me John, I'm glad we're soulmates."

John felt complete. His angel was right where he needed him to be and that was in his arms.

"I love you."
