When the Vanderwood's pulled up outside of the mansion, Oliver, Luka, and Corey were sleeping.

The vampires managed to stay awake. It was almost half three in the morning and everyone was feeling a little run down.

The rain was still pouring but there was no more thunder.

"We're home," Jed said and turned to see if everyone was okay.

Rayvon didn't bother waking Luka up as he unbuckled his seat belt and wrapped his arms around him.

Panuleon did the same to Corey and simply carried him.

Vinny woke Oliver up, it wouldn't be easy to carry him out of the car. He isn't as small as Luka and Corey.

John, Madison, and Duke got out as the doorman stood with an umbrella, making sure they didn't get wet.

Oliver groggily climbed out of the car before Vinny took his hand and guided him towards the door.

He rubbed his tired eyes and almost tripped over the step.

"What time is it?" He mumbled.

"Half three," Vinny said and followed Rayvon who was carrying little Luka.

He had his head resting on Rayvon's shoulder and his arms were hanging by his side, showing that he had fallen asleep again.

"Bless him" Oliver smiled.

Corey was half awake but he was in Panuleon's arms and that's all he cared about.

Zachariah had followed them back to the mansion.

"I must get back to Jenny now, but I'm glad everyone is okay. I'll come around tomorrow" He smiled.

"Good night Zachariah," Jed said and watched as he exposed his wings.

"Night Jeduthun."

He then vanished and the doorman shut the door. He wasn't phased by things like that anymore.

Everyone went straight upstairs and piled into their bedrooms.

Jed watched the doors in the corridor close before he slowly sat on the floor, just outside Luka and Rayvon's bedroom.

He crossed his legs and linked his fingers together.

His mind drifted to the angels. How could they do that to Panuleon and Corey? How could they be so heartless?

Rayvon gently put Luka down on the bed and pulled off his shoes. He took a moment to watch his sleeping face before walking to the bathroom to get changed.

He was so tired.

Luka curled up and gripped the duvet, but he couldn't feel the warmth of his soulmate and didn't quite know where he was.

He sat up in a panic and looked around with desperation.

Rayvon felt his stress and popped his head back into the bedroom.

He quickly walked over when Luka rubbed his eyes and tried climbing out of bed. He was still half asleep.

"Hey, it's alright Luka. We're home" He said softly.

When he sat next to him on the bed, Luka immediately climbed onto his knee and curled up against him.

Rayvon watched as it took him about thirty seconds to drift back to sleep.

He smiled and softly rubbed his back before very slowly lying down.

He didn't get a chance to change but Luka needed him and he didn't want to move and wake him up.

So he laid there, with his best friend sleeping on top of him.

Jed's mind was beginning to drift as he did what most angels do at night and let themselves fall into a meditating state. But someone walked around the corner, pulling him out of it.

He looked up to see John, making sure nobody else was around.

He smiled as he came over and sat next to him.

"I just wanted to say goodnight" He whispered. They always say goodnight to each other.

"You look very tired, you should get some sleep," Jed said while studying John's face. He looked a lot like Oliver. He had his smile and his big eyes. Although, John's eyes were more hazel than green. He had the same brown hair colour but Oliver had little bits of blonde in his, from his mum. He had Oliver's structure, his personality and the ability to talk a lot.

"I am very tired" He chuckled, warming Jed's heart. John took his turn to study his face.

Jed had dark hair and his eyes were a mixture of dark blue and a misty gray. He had a very happy smile and his features were perfect, just like his personality. He was the same height as John and around the same weight. His expression constantly looked bright and his eyes always twinkled. His aura was calm and peaceful making his presence very approachable.

"John, I don't think our bond is weak. I think it's more medium."

They both have never experienced what it's like to connect and they honestly didn't think they'd be lucky enough to find a soulmate.

They have never been apart for over a week and a medium bond's limit is seven days. They are probably more in love than a weak bond and they haven't really argued or upset each other.

Well, Jed doesn't know how to upset anyone, being an angel and all.

"Maybe it is, I don't really know how to tell" John smiled.

"Let's just say it is" Jed shrugged before leaning his head back against the wall.

John couldn't hold back a yawn before rubbing his eyes.

"Okay, I'm going to bed. I'll see you in the morning" He said before leaning close and gently kissing Jed's cheek.

Their hearts thumped harder in their chests.

It took a very long time for both of them to accept that being affectionate with another man is something they wanted to do.

It was so hard for them to believe that they did connect a bond.

They've known each other for a long time and not once did they ever think this would happen.

But they're not alone anymore. After all these years, John found someone who he knows will be by his side for the rest of his life. He won't break apart from Jed like he did with Oliver's mum.

They're together forever and the angel liked the sound of that.

"Goodnight, sleep well" Jed smiled as he watched John get up.

"I will. Have a nice night."

They both shared a glance that would make John fall asleep with a smile on his face and make Jed happy for the rest of the night.

He watched him walk down the corridor and back to his room. He desperately wanted to follow and be with him for longer than just ten minutes at a time. But he had duties and protecting the boys was his main priority.

"Oliver hasn't stopped smiling all morning," Duke said to John.

It was half eleven and everyone was happily relaxing in the dining-room.

"I know" He chuckled. "I think it's because he woke up in his own bed this morning."

Duke smiled as they watched Vinny dodge out of Madison's grip.

"And it's also the beginning of mating season tomorrow."

"Ah, of course," Duke chuckled. "wait... Rayvon and Luka should be interesting to watch. Their bond is stronger than Vinny and Oliver's."

They both looked at each other, knowing the kids should be informed.

"Vinny," Duke said, grabbing his attention.

He got up from the couch and casually walked over.

"It's mating season tomorrow."

"I know," He said blankly.

"Yes but Rayvon and Luka will experience it now too."

It seemed to click in Vinny's mind that this was something to watch out for.

He sat down at the table and crossed his arms.

"It's going to be really strong isn't it?"

Duke nodded.

Vinny then sighed and leaned back in his chair.

"I'll have to do the talk with him too."

Duke also nodded, now looking slightly amused.

Vinny looked rather grumpy now as he turned on his seat and motioned for Oliver to come over.

He jumped over the couch and quickly walked over. He shoved himself onto Vinny's seat so they could be extra close.

"What's up?" He chirped with a smile, instantly lifting Vinny's mood.

"Rayvon will experience his first mating season tomorrow."

It took a moment for Oliver's thought's to register but then his eyes grew wide.

"This is going to be so cute!" He said. "Wait... but their bond is much stronger than ours and you get really, really affectionate."

"I know," Vinny said. "We need to talk with him."

It then clicked in Oliver's mind about what they'd have to talk about. He made the same face as Vinny.

He groaned and dropped his head on the table.

"I hoped this day would never come" He muffled into the wooden table.

Vinny chuckled but rolled his eyes.

"It'll be fine, let's get Panuleon and Corey so we can talk to them about it together."

"Alright," He said before sitting up and exhaling a big breath. "They're going to be ridiculously affectionate aren't they?"

Vinny nodded and studied Oliver's eyes.

"Come on," He said and pulled him to his feet.

John and Duke watched as they went over to Panuleon and Corey to discuss tomorrow's events.

When the couple was informed, they immediately wondered how affectionate Rayvon was going to get and if Luka would feel it too.

"We need to let them know how strong this is going to be for them," Corey said while standing up and pulling his soulmate up too.

They've lived through so many of Oliver and Vinny's mating seasons and Vinny can barely stop kissing him.

Luka ran down the hallway with a huge grin on his face.

Rayvon wasn't that far behind him, also grinning from ear to ear.

They were trying to race each other to the garden and Luka was winning so far.

Just as they approached the dining-room, Panuleon opened the door and stepped out, only for Luka to run straight into him.

The angel didn't move a single step as Luka stumbled back but Rayvon didn't stop in time and ran straight into them both.

Panuleon grabbed their arms to stop them from falling backward.

"We were just coming to find you boys" He smiled.

Luka chuckled when his dad ruffled his hair.

"Let's go to the library," Oliver said before giving Rayvon a friendly shove. "You should really watch where you're going."

"Shut up" Rayvon mumbled and pushed him back but he was amused. "Why are we going to the library?"

"We've just got something to discuss" Corey smiled.

Rayvon and Luka looked at each other, wondering what it was.

Vinny was thinking about what to say on his head but he knew the boys had to know.

Tomorrow, so much affection will swamp into Rayvon and who knows how much he'll need Luka.

When they reached the library, the boys entered by Luka trying to get in first and Rayvon picking him up and slinging him over his shoulder.

"Rayvon!" Luka chuckled and squirmed in his grip.

Their parents watched. Oliver was rocking on his feet, trying to keep down his happiness. He loved watching them get on like this.

Even now they've connected, nothing's awkward between them. They still act like best friends but with a twist of love in their eyes and their actions.

"Take a seat kids, we've got something quite important to discuss," Oliver said as he and Vinny sat on the small couch.

Everyone found a place to sit as the parents looked at one another, wondering who was going to tell them.

Vinny thought it was best if he told them. It was him that's affected by mating season and knows what it feels like.

He sat forwards and crossed his arms.

"Okay so, tomorrow's mating season and you're both going to be affected by it."

Oliver smiled, Vinny is so blunt and straight to the point.

"This means that either Rayvon or the both of you will feel a big amount of affection."

The kids looked at each other. They've witnessed Rayvon's parents in mating season and Vinny kisses Oliver a lot during the week.

"Will ours be stronger than yours because of our bond?" Luka asked quietly.

"I'm more than sure that it will," Vinny said. "You both need to be prepared for this affection. Don't be alarmed if you need to kiss more, hug more or... Go further in your relationship."

The kids cheeks blazed red. They understood what he meant.

"Y-You think it'll be that strong?" Rayvon asked.

"We don't know," Corey said. "That's why you need to be prepared. Like Vinny said, don't be afraid to express your feelings."

Luka looked up to Rayvon, wondering if they both would feel it or just him. He wanted to know how strong it would be and what requirements they'd have to fulfil in order to satisfy their needs.

Rayvon hoped that it wasn't too strong, he didn't want to overwhelm Luka.

But Luka felt a tiny bit of excitement.

Tomorrow, their affection might get very serious and he was okay to take that step.
