Luka was sitting next to Rayvon in the dining-room.

Oliver was talking to Vinny at the table. They were discussing how long Scarlet would stay for and what they should do to get rid of her.

Jed had been informed to take extra care of the boys and follow them wherever they went.

Panuleon and Corey had gone out for the day and won't be back for another hour yet. They had no idea that she was back.

"Let's just push her out of the window and say it was an accident" Vinny grumbled.

"You're so evil. And it worries me because part of you meant that but I'll let it slide" Oliver said as they gave each other amused glances. "But, I have a weird feeling that she's targeting the kids. It's strange enough that she had cornered them in the library."

"I know and Luka still looks upset, he won't be able to cope with her abuse."

Rayvon's best friend was looking gloomy as he stared at his lap. He wanted to ask what was said between him and Scarlet but didn't want to upset him even more.

"Are my eyes really that weird?" Luka asked. He has heard it so many times throughout his life that sometimes, he believed them.

Rayvon frowned at him, almost feeling horrified.

"No of course not. I think they're beaut- I think they're perfe- ...I think they're fine."

Luka looked up at him, seeing his red cheeks.

"You think they're what?"

"Shut up" Rayvon grumbled with a smile.

They haven't admitted their feelings for each other but deep down, they know.

"But seriously, just because they're different doesn't mean they're weird."

Luka could always count on his best friend to cheer him up so quickly.

"Thank you," He said quietly.

"You're welcome" He grinned and nudged his shoulder.

Just like when they were fifteen, sparks of electricity shot down their arms.

"Please don't let her get to you, that's obviously what she's trying to do and dad says she will say anything t-to hurt someone's feelings."

Luka nodded, feeling a little better.

They smiled at one another, obviously trying not to make it too obvious that they loved the sight of each other's smile.

Rayvon often wondered if liking Luka was just a phase. He still didn't know for sure if he was into guys. Yes, kissing him felt really good but it wasn't enough to confirm his feelings.

Maybe he should ask his parents.

"we could lock her in the room and let her starve to death" Vinny suggested.

"Okay, you need serious help" Oliver chuckled, making his soulmate smile.

"Or we could drown-"

"dad?" Rayvon questioned. He was clearly oblivious to what Vinny was saying.

"Yes son" Oliver smiled, wanting to change the subject anyway.

"Can I um, talk to you both about something?"

"Of course, you can."

"In private?"

Vinny and Oliver glanced at each other but stood up.

"Sure," Oliver said and lead them to the back door.

When they were out in the autumn sun, Vinny shut the door behind them before Rayvon sat down on the bench.

Vinny and Oliver sat at either side of him.

"So what's up?"

"Well..." Rayvon didn't know how to word it but he knows he can talk to his dad's about anything.

He glanced at Luka through the glass who was still sitting on the couch, clearly in his own little world.

"I don't know if I like boys or girls" he blurted out.

Oliver and Vinny looked at him, not thinking he would say that.

"You mean, you don't know what gender you're attracted to?" Oliver asked.

Rayvon nodded. He was fiddling with his fingers, trying to distract his heart from freaking out.

"It's just, I'm a bit confused."

Vinny put his arm on the back of the bench so it was behind his son and touching Oliver's arm. He had to feel him.

"I was attracted to girls before I met your dad. That was weird for me."

"I realised I was gay when I was kissing a girl but my eyes were following a guy that was walking behind her. It clicked in my head that I wasn't actually attracted to her, or her gender" Oliver said, remember when he stood for about five minutes after that, trying to decide what was going on.

Then the guy he had been staring at came up to him and gave him a drink. After that was a blur but he was about sixteen and his dad was looking out for him at that party.

It was a new year eve party and it was when John found out that his son was gay because he saw him snogging another guy, which was probably the same guy who gave him the drink.

"I've never kissed a girl," Vinny said, suddenly realising that.

"It's overrated" Oliver shrugged.

Rayvon shook his head and crossed his arms.

"You two are so weird."

Vinny watched his soulmate and studied his face. Yes, he has never kissed a girl but Oliver's lips are all he has ever needed.

"So, you're confused," The vampire said. Wanting to help his son out. "But it doesn't matter."

Rayvon looked at him with his big green eyes.

"yeah, we'll love you no matter who you're attracted to. But if you want to settle the confusion, go kiss Luka and see if you like it?"

Oliver was taking a huge risk by saying that but they're going to be soulmates, So why not push him in that direction?

Rayvon's eyes went wide as his cheeks suddenly burned.

He can't tell them that he already has and that's why he's confused because he really liked that kiss and wanted to try it again.

But Luka's friendship was more important. He wouldn't be able to cope if things got awkward between them.

"No" He mumbled. "I can't do that."

"Okay, it was odd for me to suggest it but why not? You two seem pretty close."

"Because he's my best friend, not my boyfriend" Rayvon muttered but even Vinny saw something change in his eyes when he said that.

"But, do you wish he was?" The vampire asked.

Rayvon was glaring so hard at his hands, he didn't know how to answer that, he didn't know what he wanted.

But suddenly, there was a loud crash coming from the dining room.

Everyone looked up to see Panuleon pinning someone to the ground as Corey held onto his son who looked incredibly hurt.

When Vinny understood the situation, he jumped up and ran in when Jed helped the angel pin the person to the ground.

"What the hell is going on?" He asked while running over.

"Luka!" Rayvon said and ran over to his injured friend as Oliver also ran over to help.

"Your sister hurt my son" Panuleon growled as he held Scarlet by the neck.

Vinny swapped his gaze from her to the boy.

Luka had blood seeping down his face and there was glass all over the floor. He looked very concussed and quite confused.

"Pan!" Corey shouted when his son threw up everywhere.

Scarlet had come into the dining room and picked up a glass bowl that was an ornament on the table. Before Jed could stop her, she threw it at Luka and her vampire strength made it twice as hard.

It smashed into him and cut his head.

Panuleon and Corey landed in the dining room seconds after she did it, so things were quite manic at the moment.

"He's bleeding a lot," Rayvon said in a panic, helping Corey to keep up his injured friend.

"Pan!" Corey said again. Luka was going to pass out at any moment. "Son, can you hear me?"

He could hear his dad but it was muffled and sounded very far away. He didn't have the strength to reply.

Panuleon hadn't let go of Scarlet's neck but she couldn't breathe and he wasn't prepared to let go anytime soon.

Vinny watched as his sister struggled to save her life. He didn't know what he should do in this situation. He hated her and knew if she did this to Rayvon he would be in the same situation.

Actually, if Panuleon and Corey hadn't arrived, he would be in their situation.

As his mind became lost for a moment, scarlet was still struggling.

"Panuleon, let go," Duke said calmly.

When did he enter? The angel didn't know but he was so angry.

"You're going to kill her, let go."

If this was anyone else outside of the family, he would've killed her already. But she wasn't and he would damage people's lives if she died right here.

As he watched her struggling to hold on while her grip on his wrist weakened, he knew he shouldn't do it. As much as he wanted to, he wasn't allowed.

It was worrying Madison that Vinny hadn't stopped the angel already.

Panuleon let her go.

Scarlet instantly gasped for air and clutched her throbbing throat.

The angel heard his soulmates cries for help before turning.

Luka had passed out and he needed mending right away.

Rayvon felt so helpless. For some reason, he wanted to give everything he possibly could to make Luka better. He couldn't bear to see him so hurt.

Panuleon got up and quickly headed to his son.

Luka's head was resting on the side of Corey's neck as Rayvon held up his limp body.

The angel knelt in front of him and took his head in his hands. He closed the eyes and concentrated as hard as he could on sending the cooling energy around his wounds.

Vinny watched as Scarlet coughed and wheezed but still, he didn't feel anything.

When her breathing was somewhat normal, Duke grabbed her arm and forced her to her feet.

Rayvon looked up when they were taking her out of the room.

"Wait!" He shouted and ran over.

Everyone watched as he didn't stop. Time seemed to go in slow motion when he lifted a fist and punched her straight in the face.

Even Vinny gasped, not expecting that.

Scarlet stumbled and cried out while holding her nose.

Duke was so stunned, it took him a moment to figure out what had happened.

"Do you think it's funny hurting people like that? Luka's small and you know he won't defend himself. You're pathetic going after easy targets and I hope you get what's coming to you" He growled.

For once, Rayvon's harsh tone and his angry eyes actually scared Scarlet.

Maybe it was the fact that if not stopped, Panuleon would've killed her or maybe it was the realisation that her plan had backfired and she still ended up hurt.

Oliver took hold of Rayvon's tense shoulders and pulled him back. His fists were still clenched and he looked like he wasn't finished with the violence.

Duke glanced at Vinny who still had no emotion showing. Although he was proud of Rayvon but knew he couldn't reveal it.

He then turned and pulled Scarlet out of the room. They were going to wait until this calms down before telling her that she's not part of the family anymore and she isn't welcome in this home or in their lives.

Even after all these years she still never fails to amaze them with her cruelty and they can't stand to witness anymore.

Luka was still unconscious but now healed. Panuleon ran his fingers through the boy's hair while looking at Corey.

"He's so innocent" He whispered.

"I know," Corey said, he could feel how much rage Panuleon still had, floating in his head. He was usually the calm one but they couldn't believe it. How could she do this to him?

The boy is so sweet, kind and very gentle.

But that just means he is the perfect candidate for Scarlet to bully.

"We need to teach him how to protect himself."

They both knew it wasn't just because of people like Scarlet. There was something much darker coming, something he needed to be ready for.

The war.
