Chapter 2: Cloud Roadster
After MK's shift ended and he was free to go back home to his apartment, his phone made a small buzz. He reached into his pocket and saw a text from Mei.
It read: 'MK, YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT!'
MK tilted his head before texting back. 'What is it?'
'The most awesomest thing I've ever built other than my amazing bike!'
'OMG, I'm coming over!'
'It is for you actually! So by all means! Go ahead! EEEEE! I'm excited to show you!'
MK didn't need anything else and extended himself into the air with his staff and then started flying around while gripping the staff until he made it to Mei's little garage, which while it was away from her parent's home, she did go there often. The Monkie Kid landed before knocking on the door.
Mei appeared and smiled wide before dragging her friend inside and leading him to the garage. "Trust me! You're going to love this! I spent days on it!"
"Mei? For me? You shouldn't have!"
"You're my best friend! Of course I should have!" Mei exclaimed with that cute giggle of hers.
MK smiled. "Alright! Show me!"
Mei smirked before pulling off the cover of a vehicle and then revealing a red hot rod with some yellow paint, turbine engines, and blue wheels.
MK's eyes went wide before he teared up. "It's...beautiful."
Mei giggled. "I know! I figured since you couldn't afford a car just yet, I'd build you one! I call it The Cloud Roadster!"
"Mei, that name is so awesome and this car is so awesome and you are so awesome!!! I could kiss you!!!" MK exclaimed.
Mei blushed with a small squeak before turning her head.
MK froze up with a look of realization and he rubbed the back of his head. "I-It was an expression! S-Sorry!"
"N-Nah! Don't worry about it!" Mei said.
"So, can I take it out?" MK asked.
Mei nodded. "Yup! Just don't go too fast until you get used to it. I know you have a license, but still."
"Yeah, true." MK said before opening the door and hopping in the Cloud Roadster.
Mei opened the door to her garage and then watched MK speed off in the car while she waved goodbye and he did the same back. She sighed before closing the door. She then felt blissful for a moment before taking out her phone and deciding to watch a puppy video to pass the time.
Meanwhile, MK cried out in triumph as he drove around the highway in his new cool looking car before eventually taking the long way home. It may have almost been sundown, but he had time!
MK kept speeding around before making a turn and then parking the car before hopping out of it and then looking up to see people still admiring the giant Monkey Warrior Mech that was just above his building. The landlord sort of considered it the mascot of the apartment building, so never bothered to ask MK to move it somewhere else, not that he could.
The Monkie Kid then grabbed his staff and then headed inside and into his lonely, but certainly cozy apartment room. He then laid down on his bed, taking off his jacket and setting his staff into it's resting place before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
Meanwhile...
DBK groaned as Red Son worked on his armor. "When will I be back at full strength...?" He said in a raspy voice.
Red Son lifted his welder's mask. "Your armor and furnace was severely damaged to the point where it could take a year for it to recharge and repair, Father."
"WHAT?!??" DBK growled.
Red Son jumped a bit before gulping. "I-It was The Noodle Boy-"
"No...I know now that boy is no thief. He's the successor of Sun Wukong. No mortal being can have that power unless they take it or are given it." DBK snarled as he clutched the armrest of his throne. "He is no ordinary foe."
Red Son growled as he clenched his fist. "Perhaps! But I will kill him and burn him until his very corpse has been set ablaze!"
"There is no need." A voice hissed before another voice cackled.
Red Son looked up before gasping when he saw all too familiar figures hop down from the shadows.
"I-It's you two..."
The demons grinned. "Back and better than ever."
