With the tension breaking, moves flying left and right. Shadow balls, shadow claws, leaf blades, moonblasts, flamethrowers and all sorts of moves from either side occurred as a full force battle ensued. 

Ash and his friends slowly began to overpower Team Shadow, before they decided to retreat. At this moment, silence filled the entire field again, a field that was now a shadow of its former self, the ground torn to shreds, fallen trees and a huddle of injured Pokemon, some Pokemon unscathed after the battle.

"Why are they retreating?" Gary asked, Team Shadow catching his question.

"Well, we couldn't make it too easy for you now, could we?" Parker smirked, when everyone realized they all had different Pokemon.

In a line, there was five Pokemon, four of which Ash and his friends knew all to well. 

"Gyarados, mega-evolve!"

"Tyranitar, mega-evolve!"

"Absol, mega-evolve!"

"Absol, mega-evolve!"

"Houndoom, mega-evolve!" All of Team Shadow shouted simultaneously, Jake and Tristan with their Absols, Parker with his Gyarados, Jeremy with his Tyranitar and Elizabeth with her Houndoom.

"Zekrom, fusion bolt!" The Boss shouted from the middle of the group, everyone waiting.

"Everyone, get back!" Lance warned just as Zekrom swooped into the air, dark clouds rolling over the field. There was a momentary flash and then a huge blue lightning bolt came crashing down from the sky, smashing into the ground, a crater forming where Ash and Gary were stood, everyone having backed off with Lance's warning. 

As the smoke cleared, 5 mega-evolved Pokemon and Zekrom stood strong, while Ash's side only had one, his Sceptile. 

"Tyranitar, sunny day!" Jeremy began, everyone on the other side of the crater wondering what to do against so many strong Pokemon.

 "Absol, flamethrower!" Jake continued their strategy.

"Houndoom, flamethrower!" Elizabeth added to the heat.

"Gyarados, fire blast!" Parker waited for Jeremy, peaking at him for a moment. Jeremy pushed his glasses up and grinned.

"Tyranitar, you use fire blast too!"

"Absol, giga impact!" Tristan added to the firepower. 

"Zekrom, fusion bolt once more"

Each move began to combine around Tristan's Absol, who was creating a huge wave of energy from pushing itself off of the ground and flying towards the group of Pokemon at the other side. Flamethrowers cut straight through the middle of the crater, hitting Sylveon and Piplup, while the fusion bolt created another distraction. Mega Sceptile was hit by the giga impact and sent flying into Ash, who in turn was sent tumbling along the ground, Sceptile landing by his side.

Then, as the smoke cleared, the fire blasts encased the whole group and then exploded. 

Iris and Lance's Dragonites took to the skies at the right moment, while everyone else was really hurt, all of their Pokemon fainted. 

"Tyranitar, stone edge!" Jeremy became wary of the two Dragonites and immediately targeted them, Tyranitar smashing his foot onto the ground before huge rocky pillars shot out of the ground, smashing into the two dragon Pokemon. 

"Houndoom, flame charge!" Elizabeth timed her attack perfectly. "Hit both of them out of the sky!"

Houndoom took the opportunity to show of its speed, making everyone focus on one spot for one second, before realizign Houndoom had gone, already charging into the air, cloaked by a huge flame. Houndoom hit one of the Dragonites, before using the momentum from the hit to ricochet into the other Dragonite, sending them both flying down into the ground.

Team Shadow now had the upper hand, completely dominating the battle. 

Ash's friends may have been hurt, but Ash wasn't done yet.

"You say you won't let us win so easy, but how is this any harder?" Ash retorted, wiping his mouth clean from the dirt that kicked up in his face.

"Excuse me?" Parker let out a mock laugh. "You wouldn't happen to think you can stop us now?"

"I know I can" Ash instantly replied, holding two Pokeballs in his hand. "Usually, one trainer focuses their attention on one of their Pokemon, but I will use everything at my disposal to stop you. Ready, Pikachu?" 

Pikachu, who had been standing back, since Ash was focusing with Sceptile, jumped in front of Ash at that moment and prepared himself. 

"Just your Pikachu?" Parker mock laughed again. "Bring it on then"

Ash shook his head and then smiled, moving his cap around and focusing more.

"Charizard, I choose you!" Ash threw one Pokeball, before crossing his arm over and throwing another. "Greninja, I need you now!"

Charizard came out, letting out a thunderous roar in the process. 

As soon as Greninja appeared, he was already in Ash-Greninja form. He could feel Ash's emotions before he left his Pokeball and this had affected his appearance and capabilities by a considerable amount.

Just then, Mega Sceptile got up and then, Ash had his four strongest Pokemon ready, to fight with all he had. His friends were currently weak and he was the only one left.

"Ash.." Serena got into an awkward sitting position and looked at him with weakness in her eyes. "You...can't beat them" was all she said, before passing out. 

"Well, a final challenge for our mega-evolved Pokemon. This is gonna be fun!" Parker exclaimed, before snapping his fingers and signalling for the destruction to continue.

"Houndoom, flame charge!" Elizabeth started off, but it was a big mistake.

"Greninja, water shuriken!" Ash knew who was going to win this fight before Greninja moved. Houndoom roared, fire shrouded around its body. Greninja put its hands a few inches apart, water forming in his hands, in the shape of a shuriken. Greninja launched it, while the other three Pokemon watched on. Houndoom was struck by the water shuriken, with such force that the fire-hound Pokemon was sent over Team Shadow, landing on the ground. It took a moment before Houndoom got back on its four paws.

"We expected nothing less from your Greninja" Parker smirked, before throwing out a hand in a signal. "Gyarados, fire blast!" 

"Tyranitar, fire blast!" Jeremy called too, the fire blasts merging into one huge thick ball of flame, ready to encase the group of Pokemon and Ash. 

Ash smiled, almost shocking the team that stood before him. 

"Greninja, water shuriken" Ash was pointing to the fire, wanting to take it out.

"Pikachu, get on Sceptile's back" Pikachu did what Ash said, hopping on and preparing himself.

"Sceptile, agility!" Ash continue, Sceptile activating his agility, the purple aura swirling around the mega-evolved Pokemon's body. "Now, quick attack!" 

Sceptile literally disappeared, Pikachu barely holding onto his back. 

Meanwhile, Greninja made another water shuriken and launched it into the fire, but not before it could change directions, aiming at Charizard and Ash. 

That's when Chairzard flew up and took the hit with all of his strength, still flying steadily in the air once the smoke cleared. 

"Greninja, get on Charizard's back!"

While Ash was continuing to tell his other two Pokemon what to do, Sceptile had appeared in front of Gyarados. 

Ash turned on his heel, his brain going faster then ever, losing breath due to speaking to fast to get the move out of his mouth before Sceptile could connect.

"Pikachu, jump up and use iron tail!" Pikachu reacted instantly, luckily for Ash. He used the moment from being carried by Sceptile to jump higher then ever. "Now, electro ball!" 

Pikachu combined the two moves, the ball of electrical energy forming on the end of his iron coated tail. Pikachu flipped and launched the electro ball down just as Sceptile smashed into Gyarados, the moves connecting simultaneously, making Gyarados move back. Pikachu continued to use the momentum of his flip to fall, landing right in front of Gyarados's face. He swung round, so his tail could hit Gyarados with all of his might, smashing into the mega-evolved water Pokemon with a lot of force. 

While his Pokemon retreated to regain their energy, Ash looked up at Charizard in the sky, with amazement. 

He took that hit for me...I always hoped that I could have Charizard mega-evolve, but his power is already unmatched anyway. I want balance between my Pokemon and I already know Charizard is one of the strongest, even with Sceptile being able to mega-evolve. Charizard is, one of my best.

Charizard looked down at Ash, showing his teeth with a slight smile. Ash nodded and then threw his hand out. 

"Charizard, use slash! Greninja, jump off at the right time and use cut on Tyranitar!"

Team Shadow tried to muster up some form of counter.

"Absol, flamethrower!" Jake said to his Absol.

"Absol, hyper beam!" Tristan joined in with the attack.

"Sceptile, leaf blade on Tyranitar!" Ash used Tyranitar's weakness against him, stopping the huge rock Pokemon from attacking. Sceptile slashed upwards and then downwards, hitting both leaf blades. 

"Houndoom, flamethrower!" Elizabeth tried her best, frustration all over her face.

Gyarados was still recovering, so Parker watched on.

"Zekrom, fusion bolt!" The Boss decided to intervene. 

"Pikachu, meet it head on with a thunderbolt!" Ash cried out, knowing Pikachu would be overpowered, but it was going to buy time for Charizard and Greninja.

In one slow motion move, Charizard swooped up into the air, to try and dodge the fire and rainbow-like beams that had mixed together. but they was aiming up beforehand, expecting this to happen. 

"Sceptile, leaf storm!" 

Sceptile took a step back and conjured up a storm, wind flowing so fast that anyone that didn't have firm feet on the ground would fly away. The leaves began to rise behind Sceptile and he sent them in a large volley, towards the attack on Charizard and Greninja. 

The leaves burnt to a crisp on impact, but it gave Charizard and Greninja enough time to move out of the way and dodge the remnant of the attack.

Zekrom swooped into the air and threw out his wings, the clouds already in the sky. The blue light began to emit from the clouds, before a thunderous roar escaped, the clouds opening up to a huge bolt of blue lightning. Pikachu stepped up to meet the huge bolt of thunder, closing his eyes and tensing his body with all of his might, conjuring up a huge thunderbolt.

"PIKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Pikachu charged up and then let it rip. "CHUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

Both of the bolts clashed, the fusion bolt overpowering Pikachu, who was still unleashing mass amounts of power, his face scrunched up. Then, the fusion bolt hit Pikachu, causing the electricity in his body to overcharge, as it did in the Unova region. Pikachu dropped to the floor, electricity sparking around his body. 

"Pikachu!" Ash shouted, while sprinting over to his companion. 

While this was occurring, Charizard swooped down, his right claw growing, a bright aura emitting from it. Greninja jumped down and brought out his aura-filled sword. First, Charizard slashed his claws down on the recovering Pokemon, causing it to recoil back, feet firmly gripped into the mud. As soon as Tyranitar bounced back, Greninja slashed across its huge body, causing the mega-evolved Pokemon to drop onto the ground, fainting. 

Everyone retreated once more, Ash placing Pikachu behind him. 

Before the fight could continue, however, Ash turned to see May limping out of the building, towards the group, her eyes masked by her hair.

"M-May?" Ash looked at her in her dizzy state and then gasped as she looked up, eyes as red as blood.

"Join us" Was all she said, before raising her hands to the sky. 

A huge ship came floating past, so big that its shadow consumed the whole field. Then, a small cannon directed itself at the ground and Team Shadow retreated back.

May began to cackle, the madness escaping her body. She laughed into the sky as the thunder roared and the lightning flashed, then Ash realized what was going on, but he didn't have time to react.

The mind-control machine that had been used on Ash at the start of the tournament fired out a large pellet onto the ground, then, it began to emit purple smoke around Ash's friends, slowly seeping over to him.

Suddenly, Pikachu was on all-fours, electricity still sparking around his body.

"PIKAAAAAAAAA!"

"CHUUUUU!" Pikachu unconsciously fired a huge thunderbolt, the light so bright Ash and his Pokemon had to turn away and shield themselves from the light. The thunderbolt caused shock-waves, rippling through the air, clearing the smoke away from Ash and keeping him safe. The ship continued to fly overhead.

Ash turned back, sighing in relief as the smoke cleared. But then his face dropped.

All of his friends, including the four champions and all of their Pokemon stared at Ash, with red eyes. 

May stopped laughing and tilted her head to their friends. 

"Take him down!" She ordered, with a huge grin forming on the end of her lips. 

Ash prepared for the fight of his life.
