"Pikachu use thunderbolt!" Ash shouted to Pikachu, who was covered in scratches and marks, clearly in pain. Lily's Jolteon stood gracefully, as clean as a whistle, having taken no damage at all. The Jolteon vs Pikachu match had been going on for five minutes up until this point, with every other match over and three people already advancing to the next round. All eyes were on Ash and Lily as they continued to fight.

"PIKAAAAAAAAA CHUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Pikachu unleashed a ferocious thunderbolt at Jolteon, which was still weak because they was both electric types. Jolteon took the hit, for the first time in the match. It did nothing at all, the electrical energy being absorbed by Jolteon, who had a comforting look on its face. 

"Gotta try harder then that!" Lily tutted, winking playfully at Ash. Serena gulped in the background. "Jolteon, wild charge!" 

Jolteon's speed was just as good as its durability, Pikachu was no match for the electrical blur that charged at him, diving straight into Pikachu and sending him flying back, rolling continuously to the wall. 

"Pikachu!" Ash shouted, rushing over while the ref declared that Pikachu was unable to battle. "You ok buddy?" 

"Pika.." Pikachu said, with one eye half open.

"Take a nice rest buddy" Ash said as he scooped up Pikachu and placed him by his side, out of harms way. Ash took up Greninja's pokeball. "Greninja, I choose you!" 

Greninja came out and turned to Ash, who's face had straightened. He was calm, collected and serious as he spoke.

"I need you to do this Greninja, for Pikachu and Sceptile. Do you believe in me?" Ash said to Greninja.

"Jolteon, wild charge!" Lily was trying to give them no time at all, Jolteon charged up its electrical energy, shrouding itself in it as it charged straight for Greninja, who nodded at Ash.

Ash pointed straight at the charging Jolteon and put all of his emotion behind it. "Then show me what you are capable of! Greninja!" 

There was a shift in time, a moment of slow motion as Greninja began to change. Ash could feel the change within his body as Greninja came back, looking completely different. Murmurs from the crowd could be heard. They had never seen anything like this, no kind of evolution recorded. Only the people of Kalos knew what had happened.

"Ash-Greninja" Serena breathed out, making everyone turn to her. 

Ash-Greninja swiftly jumped into the air, without even looking at Jolteon, who completely missed its attack.

"Greninja, water shuriken!" Ash and Greninja worked like they was one. Before Ash had even spoke, Ash-Greninja was already preparing the move, turning to face Jolteon as it turned to face Ash-Greninja. The shuriken, completely made out of water, formed at the end of one of Ash-Greninja's hands. It then shot at Jolteon like a bullet, swerving towards the eeveelution. There was a momentary explosion, then Jolteon came flying through the smoke, sliding across the arena, to keep its balance. Jolteon looked hurt, despite electric being strong against water. 

"Jolteon, wild charge once more!" Lily shouted through gritted teeth. She couldn't understand what had happened to Ash's Greninja. 

"Greninja, use cut!" Ash was focused, determined. He wanted to win. 

Ash-Greninja charged forward, the sword shaped cut appearing in its right hand. Ash-Greninja swiftly slashed down, leaping into the air simultaneously. Then, using the momentum from leaping, he corkscrewed over Jolteon, the cut connecting and Jolteon missing. There was a moment of silence as Ash-Greninja sheathed the cut. Then, another momentary explosion occurred, revealing Jolteon had fainted.

"Jolteon is unable to battle!" The Referee declared. The crowd erupted into a frenzy of cheers, having just witnessed something they had never seen before. 

"Leafeon, it's all on you now!" Lily said, revealing her final Pokemon to be Leafeon, the grass type eeveelution, which was super effective against water type Pokemon. 

"Greninja, aerial ace!" Ash wasn't going to waste time and went for the first move. 

Ash-Greninja flew at Leafeon, speed unmatched, and slashed down at the grass type eeveelution, the light blue energy created through the slash smashing Leafeon into the ground. Ash-Greninja steadily flipped back to where he once stood, in front of Ash. 

"Now, use cut!"

Greninja went straight to Leafeon again, but Lily was prepared.

"Leafeon, use dig!" Lily ordered and Leafeon executed, instantly digging into the ground and burrowing around the arena.

Ash-Greninja jumped up just as Leafeon came flying up from the ground, swiftly dodging the move with ease, before landing on his feet and charging for another cut. 

"Leafeon, use leaf blade!" Lily knew Leafeon had the speed to counter Ash-Greninja from their current position, but still didn't know their power was unmatched. 

Leafeon's tail hardened and a green aura glowed around it as it span round to meet Ash-Greninja's move, parrying it with a lot of effort. Then, Leafeon swung again, hitting Ash-Greninja in the back with a hard leaf blade.

The super effective move cause Ash-Greninja to stumble and also made Ash flinch, as he held his back. A few murmurs of confusion rose from the crowd as Ash wince a little, before slowly straightening up and focusing again. Lily saw it as a chance.

"Leafeon, keep on using leaf blade as much as you want!" She shouted, before confidently smirking. 

Ash-Greninja had no choice but to keep blocking manually, taking each hit. Every time one hit, Ash could feel Ash-Greninja's pain, making him feel worn out and sore. 

"Use water pulse, forget about blocking!" Ash decided a moment after managing to ignore the pain. Ash-Greninja listened, forming an orb of blue energy, like a sphere of pure water. "Slam it down on the ground!

Ash-Greninja didn't hesitate, he slammed the move into the ground, causing the ground to shake for a moment, making Leafeon lose its balance. 

"Now, use aerial ace once more!" Ash repeated this move, as it used Ash-Greninja's speed to his advantage.

Ash-Greninja charged straight at Leafeon, who had no time to react. The aerial ace slashed once into Leafeon, causing it to jump up and fly into the air, moving in an arc at its trainer, who scowled.

"Leafeon, use dig once more" Lily urgently said to the falling Leafeon, who then suddenly span around and dived into the same hole, lessening the damage from the fall. Leafeon instantly came back up. 

"Magical leaf!"

Then, Leafeon conjured up a large amount of light green, glowing leaves, firing them at Ash-Greninja, who had just dodged the dig attack and was still landing in position. This gave him no time to react, the leaves smashing into his body one by one.

Ash dropped to one knee, awkwardly stumbling backwards to get onto his feet. 

"Don't give up!" Ash shouted to Ash-Greninja, who immediately stood up and acted like the move had done nothing at all. "Water shuriken!"

Ash-Greninja formed the water shuriken in his hands, launching it at Leafeon, who was ready to block.

"Leaf blade, block it quick!" Lily said for the counter, but Ash and Ash-Greninja knew what was next.

"Greninja, use cut!" Ash shouted, as the shuriken was blocked by the leaf blade. The resulting explosion made the unsuspecting Leafeon confused, causing it to turn and face Ash-Greninja, who was barrelling towards Leafeon like a complete blur, the incredible speed making the move only slightly noticeable. The sword slashed through Leafeon, causing the same regular explosion it always caused. 

"Leafeon is unable to battle. The winner is Ash!" The Referee called the final part of the match and the crowd cheered. All of Ash's friends could be heard over the loud cheers of the large crowd, who had thoroughly enjoyed the battle. 

The screens instantly changed, revealing the same old announcer, who was gesturing back to the big screen in the main arena. 

"Time for our next four matches!" She shouted into the microphone, the ecstatic crowd still going wild, not even reaching their climax. 

"First up.." She looked at the screen as both pictures were revealed. "Elizabeth vs May!" 

The screen instantly flicked back to the randomizing process, making it clear that Ash and Lily's fight had help up the schedule and they was trying to get the matches sorted quick.

"Our second match, Jason vs Laura!" 

The crowd continued to cheer and chant, not dimming the mood for a single second as she continued.

"The third match, Gary vs Cilan!" 

Cilan and Gary looked across at each other and then nodded. They both knew one of them was going out at the start.

"Finally, we have our last match! Tristan vs Connor!" She announced the final match and then coughed an 'ahem' into the microphone to make everyone quieten down. "The matches will begin in five minutes, so prepare yourselves and your three Pokemon. Good luck!" 

Everyone began to prepare for their matches, ready for whatever was thrown at them.
