Chapter 6. Kevin's Big Score

LOCATION: Bellwood North California U.S.

It has been six days after getting "acquaintance"with SHIELD's Agent Natasha Romanov A.K.A. The Black Widow and the could tell that the young woman and Benjamin took a liking to each other with a few verbal teasing and flirting while fighting the DNAliens and  unconsciously finding another Plumber's Kid and now thanks to Alan Albright's badge as well as exploiting an Alien activity in Grover's Mill, a small farm town just outside of Bellwood who was frame by the Aliens burning of the corn fields but as it turns out they're not burning it they're markings giant circuit boards around it to build their weather towers to make the temperature around 89.4°C for them to colonize in the town as their power base of operation but thanks to the Alien Force and the guidance and tactical advantage given by the Black Widow they won and Benjamin Tennyson agrees for having a Liaison with SHIELD as he said and Quoted; "Tell Nicky that he could've have just call like civilize and Normal people and I'll allowed any agent to be a liaison for our team and SHIELD." and with Black Widow who was assigned to be their Handler much to their annoyance for the last six days she hasn't stop or interfere with their operations or missions as it was out of her Jurisdiction but it was agreement that they'll report to her or if she's not available they'll send in a private message to Nick Fury or Maria Hill as for Black Widow herself she doesn't actually works with the team personally on mission but she does help train them which one they actually likes after all she's one of the world's deadliest Assassin; no one outside of the Team knows about her history which warry them but they know she's a great person to hang out with.

It was a dark night in Bellwood and a rat scurried into a stray tin can that was soon blasted at with a blue energy blast, scaring away the rat.

"Ha!"

Holding the blaster was an alien of a race similar to Needle Mouse's species, who had gray fur, big yellow eyes and long black quills for hair. He had a long muzzle filled with sharp teeth and wore a black T-shirt with an orange/brown jacket and blue jeans.

He walked over to the rat, picked it up and gulped it down whole in one go, burping afterwards. Afterwards, headlights shone on the alien and he looked to see Kevin pulling up in his car, alone.

"Kevin, buddy." He said. "I've been waiting like an hour."

"I said I'd be here and I'm here, Argit. It's tough to get away because I'm living with my big sister again.not only that our group is being overwatched by our handler. Now what's your proposition?"

"Oh, why you've got to be such a downer after all we've been through together in the Null Void? Ain't you glad to see your old running buddy?"

Kevin just glared and rolled up the window, preparing to drive away. He pulled the gear back into reverse before Argit panicked.

"No, wait! I got that tech you were looking for!"

Kevin rolled down the window in curiosity.

"What makes you think I'm looking for anything, Argit?"

"Oh, come on, Kev. Octagon Vreedle says you've been vid messaging all the underground swappers. You're in the market for a specific primo machino. And I've got it."

"For real?" Kevin asked in disbelief.

"Oh, now you're listening now that I can do something for ya. You are so off my contact list."

Argit whipped out his phone and deleted Kevin's name before walking away. But Kevin pulled forwards in his car to meet up with him.

"Come on, Argit. You've burned me on so many deals so many times it makes me forget how tight we really are or were."

"Kev, buddy." Argit said, giving his old friend a fist bump. "I can't stay mad at you. Not when there's money involved."

"So... let's see it."

"Uh... about that. I don't actually 'got it, got it'."

"Aw, come on, man!"

"But I can make a connection with the guy who does. I have to warn you though. It's gonna cost ya."

Kevin narrowed his eyes.

'I'm gonna have to deceive the team for this.' He thought. 'And my sister. But it's going to be worth it in the end, hopefully Agent Romanov would see through it and explain it to the team Incase things went nuts.'

Later that night. The Alien Force were hanging around the Rust Bucket II in the trailer park as they looked at each other and Kevin fixed up the underside as Allison grilled up some burgers for the team.

"So." Gwen smiled at her best friend as they crowded around each other. "How was Paris?"

"That was a great fight." She said, "Me and that Nora girl ended up tied. She didn't handle it well. She flew into a rage after it was announced, accused me of cheating and that she should've won, blah, blah, blah."

"Did you cheat?" Ben asked. "Did you use your superpowers?"

"Of course not! I'm no cheater." She said, "I just do the best I can every fight and if I win, I win. If I lose, I lose. In this case I did neither and I'm happy to have been a part of it. Besides, it's not like anyone found out I'm Matter Girl." Ally then turns to Ben. "Speaking of Which; how's things with Agent Romanov?" After the incident in Grover's Mill and actually finding a new potential team member Alan Albright they told her about SHIELD being involved again.

"It went well, she was a little rusty to break unlike Coulson but we'll manage." Grinned Ben.

"You do know that she's the world's deadliest Assassin and Best top spy SHIELD ever trained, right?" Gwen frowned at him.

"Relax, we got this, it will be just like five years ago." Ben stated determined.

"He's right though, we can handle our handler." Smirked Kevin at his own Joke and Ben snickers 

"I see what you did there." Snorted Ben.

"Although, between the teasing and flirting from you two. I think we can actually break through her." Teases Kevin and Ben fought back a blush.

"We're not flirting, it's called Verbal exchange!" Ben defended, feeling embarrassed.

The team actually snickers at this.

"My brother got a point though, call it what you think but from what I heard and seen,  you two are a bit way too close for comfort."

Ben actually glared at her. "I hate you!"

"No you don't."

Ben groaned at this and buried his face in his hands.

Just then Gwen was looking over their old stuff inside the RV as she called out to them. "Hey, guys, look!" Gwen said, showing a picture to the others of them five years ago around the Rust Bucket. "It's us around the old Rust Bucket."

"Heh." Becky chuckled. "It's so like Grandpa Max to lose one dumper to a crazy Chronian then go out to find another."

"That summer was incredible." Ben said, completely out of his embarrassed state as he leaned back in his chair. "Hero time all the time, Kevin was still a bad guy."

"Let it go, Benny. I know you guys are here to keep an eye on me." Kevin said, getting out from the underside.

"Me especially." Allison said as she gave out the burgers to the team and they sat around in their seats.

"It's really sweet of you to try to fix up Rust Bucket II, Kevin." Gwen said.

Kevin smiled and got up, taking the wenches out from the bottom and lowered the Rust Bucket down to ground level.

Gwen then put the photo away back into the collection and walked off to try to put it back in the Rust Bucket II, only for Kevin to block her path.

"Not yet."

Kevin then closed the door behind him to set it up.

"I'm still not buying the nice guy act, Kevin!" Ben called as he ate his burger.

"Ben, come on. He's changed." Allison said.

Kevin inside buckled up and used his Plumbers' badge to activate the secret engine behind the radio as he smirked.

"

Okay, I'm going to try the engine!"

He then turned the key in the ignition, starting up the engine with a puff of smoke.

"Go Kevin!" Ben said with a thumbs up. Of course, his pleasant expression was completely wiped from his face once Kevin immediately drove off.
"What the hell?"

"Go. We'll catch up." Gwen said seriously, and he nodded. He knew the Rust Bucket had quite a few defenses on it, so care was definitely going to have to be taken.

"Come back, Kevin!" Ben shouted as he put on his Omni X Suit and slammed the core down.

Ben transformed into an moth-like alien whose four wings and antenna were folded up into a hooded robe (much akin to a poncho), giving him the appearance of a phantom. He had a black body with cyan patches on his arms, shoulders, legs, the back of hiswings, and the back of his neck that resembled ice chunks. Each patch has thick blue outlining except for the ones on his wings, which are outlined in black. There is also a black line that runs on the edge of the outer margin on the back of each wing. On his torso are three plates. One resembling the chest, a shorter plate under the chest, and one resembling the stomach. On his face are blue cheeks and underjaw, a mouth that always shows bluish white teeth, and large green eyes with dark green spots. The top of his head also sports a blue Y-shaped marking that extends over his scalp. He has three pointed fingers and a thumb on each hand, and two toes on each foot and a third toe-like extension on his ankles and the green Omnitrix symbol grew on his chest.

"Big Chill!" Ben shouted, unfurling his wings and flying into the air. 

Kevin looked in the rearview mirror to see Ben following him.

He then pressed a button, activating a laser cannon from the roof of the RV, blasting at him as Ben swiftly dodged the blasts before he managed to lock onto Big Chill.

Before the laser blast could hit him, Big Chill turned intangible and phased through the laser as he continued his hot pursuit of the RV.

Thinking quickly, Big Chill froze the road ahead, causing the Rust Bucket II to slip and slide on the ice.

'Should've known it was too good to be true. But there's no way he knew about the Rust Bucket until we showed him. Why does he even need it? And for who or what?' Big Chill questioned in his head.

Kevin activated the Plumber's tech, which caused the wheels to grow spikes and the RV started to move on the ice normally, breaking through.

'Sorry Tennyson. But you gotta stay out of this until I'm done.' He said, hitting the green button that was revealed from his Plumber's badge.

Big chill, still in pursuit, blew out his freeze breath just behind Rust bucket, causing it to skid out of the road. Kevin yelled out as the rust bucket ran down the inclined hillside of the road. Seeing he was about to run in some trees, Kevin quickly pushed another button. The front side of the rust bucket transformed, turning into a ramm with a set of three blades attached on it.

The rust bucket rammed into the tree, breaking it apart as it continued on its way, ramming into a bunch more trees. Behind him, Big chill was still pursuing him, dodging and moving away from the trees. In the meantime, Kevin had managed to get himself back on the road. He checked his rear view mirror, only to find Big chill still behind him.

Suddenly Big chill turned intangible and completely went invisible.

"Nice try Tennyson." Kevin complimented. "But tonight you're minding your own business."

He pressed down another button, and the rear view mirror flashed for a moment before showing a screen where Big chill could easily be seen.

A rocket launcher popped out from the side of the rust bucket and a missile launched itself towards Big chill. It exploded a few feet away from him, releasing a net that was able to entangle Big chill in it, the moment the alien ran into it.

Big chill weakly got up as the net disintegrated around him and transformed back into Ben, as he glared at the retreating form of Kevin. Some time later, Gwen and the others had caught up with Ben.

"He got away." Ben grunted.

"Whoa." Gwen said in awe, after realizing what she said, she immediately corrected herself. "I mean, oh no."

"How could I have let my guard down!" Ben angrily said as he walked away. "He's a liar and a thief!"

"That was the old Kevin, he's different now." Gwen argued. She paused for a moment before saying. "And we're different too."

"Look, this is not the time for arguing. we have more important stuff to deal with right now." Becky intervened.

"Yeah. We need to track down Kevin first. I'm sure he must have an explanation for this." Allison added.

"Well, he better have an explanation when we find him." Ben growled.

"But how are we going to find him in the first place? He left his phone at the campsite and I don't think you have put a tracker on him." Becky said.

"Well, I can use this." Gwen said, holding up a dirty handkerchief.

"Wait, you kept that dirty cloth he was using during the repairs?" Ben asked, shocked.

Gwen opted not to answer and instead used her magic. The handkerchief levitated above her palm as mana surrounded it as Gwen's eyes glow pink. After a few moments, the whole thing came to an end and the handkerchief fell back on her hand.

"I've got him."

Suddenly, a bright light shone on them as strong gusts of wind blew away dust and fallen leaves around them, followed by the deafening noise of a jet engine.

The group shielded their eyes with their hands and looked up to the source of light.

Argit was checking the engine of the Rust bucket with a torch. Once his inspection was over, he walked over to Kevin.

"It's a bucket of bolts man." Argit said.

Kevin said nothing, but led him inside the Rust Bucket. Using the Plumber's badge, he revealed all the tech that was built in the mobile home.

"Still think it's a dump?" Kevin questioned rhetorically, a smirk forming on his face.

"Ok, that changes things." Argit said, his eyes greedily running over the RV.

"So we got a deal, right?" Kevin asked with a smile.

"Oh, yeah. We've got a deal." Argit said, his smile suddenly turning into a mischievous smirk.

Suddenly, the quills on his back straightened and some shot out towards Kevin. The osmosian was rendered paralyzed as he was hit by the quills and he fell on the floor.

"I can't move." Kevin grunted out.

"Oh no, I'm sorry Kev." Argit said as he looked down on Kevin and leaned closer to his ear "But you see, this thing holds enough cash that I can pay off every person I owe. And live a little."

Kevin was then thrown out of the Rust bucket.

"That truck is all I have to bargain with." Kevin grunted.

"You should have held out on me buddy." Argit said and closed the door of the RV.

"When you can walk again, you go see him." Argit yelled out. "A tech dealer named Volcanus. He says he knows you. He says he wants you dead." The rat-like alien laughed off as he started the engine.

As the engine of the RV truck reved up, Kevin became even more desperate. With what mobility he'd had, he managed to press his fingers against the ground. A layer of rock covered his skin, as he absorbed energy from the ground.

Kevin gasped out as he was no Longer paralyzed now. He looked up just in time to see Argit escaping with the Rust bucket.

"No!" Kevin yelled out as he stood up. He punched a nearby boulder, breaking its top part and then threw that broken piece of boulder towards the escaping vehicle. His shot missed and Argit made his gateway, leaving Kevin seething in anger.

"Aghhhhhhhhhhh!" The osmosian yelled out in anger.

A few minutes later, Kevin was found by the rest of the group. While he expected the team, he was surprised to see Agent Romanoff with them, who came in her quinjet.

Ben got out of Kevin's car, that he used to drive here, and walked up to Kevin.

"Now, I know this looks bad-" Kevin began.

"Bad?" Ben said, barely restraining his anger. "Bad!? If you don't get the Rust bucket back, I'll show you bad!"

"Doubt it." Kevin smirked, despite the circumstances.

"If I were you, I'd wipe that smirk off my face, Levin. After that stunt you pulled, you're no doubt in Shield's hit list."

"Miss. Romanoff. Wasn't expecting you here."

"I just flew by to check up on you guys. And the first thing I see is this."

"You mean to wait for us to go all rogue or at least one of us right? And then actually report to your one-eyed pirate boss to give you permission to shoot us down." Mocked Kevin.

"Which you technically did." Natasha sternly said. "And don't tempt me Levin, your actions in San Francisco five years ago doesn't actually let you go unwarrant from any US Government Agencies, especially the plumbers. Just one wrong move any of us can arrest you or shoot you dead." Natasha reminded him as he slammed his shoulder down in defeat. "Now why did you drive off with Max Tennyson's old RV and attacked Benjamin?" She asked.

"Thanks for the assist Nat, But I'll take it from here." Ben suddenly said.

He then turns to Kevin. "Answer us Kevin! What happens when this is all over and Grandpa comes home?!" Ben Demanded.."Where's he gonna live then?"

"Come on Kev, why did you do it?" Helena asked as well.

"Yeah Kev, Why did you steal that RV?"  Ben said, his voice harsh.

"There's a reason for it." Kevin said, making both all three Tennysons, his sister and Natasha all raise a brow in suspicion. Or in Ben's case, at least do the motion for it.

Natasha for being the best spy and world's deadliest Assassin, narrowed her eyes at him reading his very movements and speech patterns to see if he was lying or not.

"I believe him. Not sure if it's a good one, but still." Natasha said, shocking everyone, even Kevin.

Ben paid no mind to her as he was still busy glaring at Kevin. Both of them were face to face at this point.

"Do I have to separate you two?" Gwen intervened.

"He stole Grandpa's home!" Ben shouted pointing at Kevin with his thumb. "What kind of jerk steals an old man's home?"

"One with a very good reason." Gwen argued. She then turned towards Kevin. "Right?"

"Yeah." Kevin said. "This is important."

"Important to you." Ben snapped.

Kevin sighed. "One second." He pulled out his plumber's badge and pressed on it. The badge projected a holographic screen, showing a map with a red blinking spot on it.

"You put a tracking device on it?" Gwen asked in awe.

"Impressive." Natasha commented.

"Like I'd let anybody swipe a fortune worth of plumber tech from me." Kevin smirked.

The car, followed by Allison on her bike, stopped outside a storage unit. The whole team, along with Natasha got out of the car and Alison got off her bike Kevin checked his holoscreen once again and guided them towards one of the units.

They broke in there through a vent and Gwen used a mana ball to light the way. They searched inside the storage unit, and soon they found the Rust bucket. But as they got closer to the RV, they noticed its state. Even from the outside one could tell it was stripped off every bit of things that had any value.

"Stripped!" Kevin gasped.

"Great. So, where's your fortune Kevin?" Ben smirked. He then turned around and found a piece of plastic on the floor and picked it up. "What's this worth? Five bucks?"

"We were supposed to be keeping the planet safe from alien invasion, and we can't even keep a motorhome from getting stolen." Ben yells out in frustration as he kicks down a pile of tires.

"This is a mess. You lot should have informed me the moment Kevin ran away with the truck. In fact, I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't arrived unexpectedly, I wouldn't have known about this incident." Natasha stated.

"Oh, excuse us for not completely trusting an assassin agent who works for a super shady organization." Alison defended.

"You guys are not giving me a lot of choices here, I'm supposed to be your handler as a liaison agent between SHIELD and the PLUMBERS, not a spy, and forgive me for not being way too trusting with a bunch of children that have the burden of protecting this world not while to mention that one of them has a very bad record." Natasha said, nodding at Kevin.

"You have a point." Ben sighed. "But this is a plumber business so we can't just let you know about it as it concerns one of its retired Magister."

"Ben's right, this is our grandpa and it should be us looking for him while also solving this alien conspiracy that might lead to an alien invasion." Becky stated

"An Alien Invasion that might actually not be able to be stopped immediately by just your team, that neither SHIELD or SWORD failed to prevent in time because they weren't aware of."

"That's what the plumbers are for." Ben smugly says.

"And where are the plumbers exactly?" Natasha asked him.

"You're looking at them." Ben gestured to his team.

"No you're not." Natasha shook her head.

"What do you mean?" Scoff Becky.

"You kids are not plumbers, you're just a bunch of Teenagers playing the hero to save the day and not taking things seriously."

"Excuse me?!" Ben glares at her feeling a bit offended.

"Take this incident for example." Natasha said. "You actually allowed Kevin to turn his backs on you guys the moment he stepped foot inside the RV which is probably a very advanced alien Tech and just think of what anyone would do if they got their hands on such tech." Ben, Becky and Gwen actually flinch remembering the Road crew.

And Natasha noticed this. She knew what she was talking about. After all, she did read their files.

"I didn't think so." Natasha said.

"Drop it!" Kevin snapped and walked away.

"Don't walk away from me!" Ben yelled out, stepping in front of him.

"Is this where you turn into an alien and try to kick my ass?" Kevin questioned, looking down at the shorter teen.

"I'm considering it." Ben growled.

Suddenly, they heard some noise coming from the door. Gwen quickly turned off her mana ball and by the time the door opened, they all had disappeared as if they were never there. On the other side of the door, there was Argit.

The rat-like alien walked inside the storage room and headed straight for the RV. Walking inside the vehicle, he quickly went over to the driver's seat and pulled a piece of tech that was still inside the RV.

"Hah! I knew I missed something!" He exclaimed.

Once Argit stepped out from the RV, he suddenly found himself surrounded by the Alien force. The rat-like alien looked around in panic as he realized his situation.

In a last ditch effort to save himself, Argit shot his quills in every direction, trying to take them down or at least use it as a distraction.

"Watch out!" Kevin yelled out in alarm as he tackled Gwen to the floor, saving her from the incoming quills.

Ben did the same for Natasha, but accidentally got hit by one quill, which rendered him unconscious, while Becky and Alison took cover behind some nearby boxes.

Argit took this opportunity to escape, but Natasha quickly sprang back on her feet and aimed her Widow's bite at the fleeing alien and shot a taser round at him. The rat-like screamed out in pain and then dropped on the floor.

Sometime later when Argit was conscious again, he found himself tied up and surrounded by the alien force. He tried to use his quills, but they didn't work.

"Don't try that. I super glued them." Ben, who was now awake, said.

"Now, Argit, we'll ask you some questions, and you better answer them straight." Becky ordered.

"Oh alright. I'll give it to you straight! You cannot trust that man!" Argit said, motioning towards Kevin.

"Me?!" Kevin asked, shocked.

"Do you know what he was gonna do?" Argit continues. "Steal your motor house and sell it to another criminal! Thank goodness I stopped him!"

"By stealing it yourself?" Kevin growled.

"Yeah." Argit answered. "Yeah, I may be a crook, but this guy is no good. You can't trust him. He'll stab you in the back just for laughs."

"Thanks buddy." Kevin sneered.

"This creep got a point." Ben suddenly said as he turned towards Kevin. "You're always up to something. Self-serving, shifty, always working some kind of angle. Always a thief. Well, what do you have to say for yourself?"

"Ben, that's enough! Cut it!" Alison said, defending her brother.

"You know what, Tennyson?" Kevin suddenly said. "I don't have to explain anything to you." He turned towards Gwen. "Or you either. I'm done with you, all of you."

Kevin began to leave. But Natasha stepped in front of him. The Osmosian glared at her, but Natasha kept her cool. Kevin decided to ignore her as he continued on his way, bumping his shoulder with hers. The whole team watched as Kevin walked out of their sight.

"Kevin! Stop!" Allison ran after her brother.

Some minutes later, she returned sobbing. "He, he left!" She wailed. Becky and Gwen went over to comfort her while Ben looked guilty.

Natasha however turned towards Argit and went over to him. She grabbed him by the collar and dragged the alien to a nearby pillar and lifted him up with her hands and slammed him against it.

"Okay, now start talking. I know you know a lot more than what you're telling us." Natasha said, her cold glare focused on the rat-like.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about lady." Argit squirmed, but Natasha saw right through his mask.

"Alright then. We will do it the hard way." Natasha said before throwing Argit back on the floor and brutally shattered one of Argit's quills with a hard stomp. The pain was similar to a tooth being ripped out, and Argit yelped in pain and the Team actually winced at that although, no one stopped Agent Romanov from doing the Interrogation.

"Look, I don't have a whole day, so If I were you, I'd make this easier on yourself." Natasha suggested.

"It's true, unlike me I shoot to kill but for her, enhanced interrogation is her thing and trust me it won't be pleasant for you or for any of us to see." Becky said and it was true as she went solo through the last four to five years after escaping the Null Void and landed on Starling City where she found the murderer of her family usually operates.

"She's right." Natasha said. "So I'm only going to ask you once more. What are you hiding?!" The look of focused anger and the sinister tone made Argit gulp and grunt as Natasha applied more pressure on the broken quill with her foot. Suddenly Argit wished he never told Kevin about this info.

"All right! All right! I'll speak!" Argit yelled out. Natasha reduced the pressure she was applying as Argit started talking. "Kevin was searching for some tech in the black market. And I knew this guy called Vulkanus who has that tech. Kevin knows who he is. And I planned to set him up." 

The team, especially the three cousins all looked at Argit.

"If you're lying to me..." Natasha trailed off as she had her foot hovering over to his quills.

"I'm not! I swear!" Argit exclaimed quickly.

"Good." She said, before knocking him out with one hard stomp to the head.

"That was... effective." Gwen said, eyeing the broken quill on the ground.

"Like I said, enhanced interrogation always comes in handy." Huntress said.

"Especially when you got yourself SHIELD's/World's Best Spy/Deadliest Assassin who offered to do it for you." Ally Grinned at Black Widow.

"Flattery will get you nowhere, Ms. Levin.” She quipped playfully.

"We got the info we needed, and we didn't need to trade the Rust Bucket for it. I'd say it's a win." Ben said. "Now onto what he told us. Who is Vulkanus? The name sounds really familiar."

"And what's this guy's business with Kevin?" Alison quipped.

"And what was Kevin looking for?" Gwen added.

"Guess we will find out when we find him." Natasha said as she pulled out a smartphone like device from her pocket. She turned it on, and a map appeared on the device with a red blinking spot on it.

"You put a tracker on Kevin?" Becky said in awe, remembering when Kevin bumped into her.

Natasha just smirked in response. "Come with me. I'll give you guys a lift." She said as she began to walk out of there, followed by the Alien force.

"What about him?" Gwen asked, pointing her thumb at Argit.

"I'll call in SHIELD to pick him up and hand him over to SWORD to stand trial." Natasha said.

Kevin stopped his car as he reached his destination. It was an abandoned Aircraft boneyard. Old frames of airplanes still lined up in the place. As Kevin walked into the place, he could feel he was being watched.

Suddenly some red and black, small humanoid creature blocked his path, all of them holding a metal pickaxe. They were saying something that sounded like chatter to his ears.

"Take me to your boss." Kevin told them.

They lead Kevin towards a warehouse and open the door for him. Inside, Kevin could see a figure hiding in the darkness on the other side of the warehouse.

"I heard you've been looking for me, Vulkanus."

The figure stepped out from the shadows, revealing a giant alien with a orange face and yellow eyes, two dark coloured tusks poking out of his chin, wearing metal armor.

"Well here I am." Kevin finished as he stood before the alien.

"Kevin Levin." Vulkanus growled,"I can't decide whether to trade with you or tear you to pieces! Remember that counterfeit isotope scam a few years back?"

"Yeah…. Sorry about that."

"You had me holding the bag and at the mercy of the plumbers. I escaped, but now I'm stuck on Earth! Swapping level 3 tech to get by, thanks to you!"

"Ancient history. I'm here to make a deal."

Vulkanus straightened up. "I have the plumber gadget you want." He stood up and took out a holodisk from his pocket and showed it to Kevin, but before Kevin could take it, he moved his hand away. "What will you give me for it?"

"Look, I'll be completely straight with you, I had this stash of plumber tech, but I lost it." Kevin admitted.

"You want to owe me?" Vulkanus boomed, slightly surprised at the proposal.

"Tell me what I have to do to get it." Kevin said, completely unaware how the henchmen of Vulkanus had surrounded him.

Vulkanus smirked and brought his hand forward for a handshake. Kevin smiled and went for the handshake too, but Vulkanus suddenly grabbed his arm. "Kneel." he growled as he painfully squeezed his arm.

Kevin yelled out in pain as he dropped on his knees after Vulkanus let go of his arm. A podium popped out from the floor in front of him. On the podium, a long piece of green gem could be seen. Stripes of cloth were wrapped around it. Suddenly the cloth stripes began glowing blue as a pair of them unraveled and caught Kevin's arm and dragged it towards the gem, forcing him to grab it.

"First, you're going to pay me back for the double cross." Vulkanus growled.

Kevin's body started to get covered in the material as he unwillingly absorbed the piece of gem.

"I can't stop absorbing..." Kevin grunted.

"Because I don't want you to." Vulkanus sneered. Almost the entire body of Kevin was covered in the green gem, save for his head. The minions dragged his immobile body away. "You were absorbing a piece of tendynite. The rarest, most precious gem in the galaxy. This is the only piece of tendinite in this spiral of the milky-way. Or it was, until you came along."

A pair of handcuffs popped out of the floor and captured Kevin's arms.

"You're a piece of shit." Kevin growled as tendinite covered his head too.

"You owe me!" Vulkanus growled. Kevin's body started to grow larger as giant spikes of tendinite popped out from his back while the Osmosian grunted and yelled in pain. "I'm gonna take it all from your hide and then sell you piece by piece!" Vulkanus said as his minions climbed up on Kevin and began mining the tendinite from his back. "And I'm going to do it forever."

"Do what you want to me, but Ben Tennyson gets that holodisk." Kevin grunted, despite his pain.

Vulkanus laughed and put the holodisk back in his belt. Kavin glared at the criminal and he just smirked. "You're in a bad position to make demands."

"He would be, if he were alone." Someone suddenly said.

They looked at the direction of the voice and found Ben in his Bigchill form standing beside Gwen, Huntress, Alison and Natasha. "But he's with us." He finished.

"You followed me?" Kevin asked, surprised.

"That 'get mad and storm off act'? Please." Natasha sassed.

"You, have friends?" Vulkanus bellowed, surprised. He then stood up. "Had friends." He pulled out a blaster like cannon and shot at them. The girls quickly lept out of the way, but Big Chill unfortunately got caught in the blast, which threw him back towards a wall.

The wall cracked when Big Chill crashed on it and several pieces of debris fell on him, burying him underneath.

The henchmen attacked the girls while Vulkanus went for Big Chill. He moved away the debris, but was surprised to find no one underneath it. As Big Chill  appeared behind him. Vulkanus turned around to shoot at him, but Big Chill froze the blaster cannon before he could.

Vulkanus angrily threw away the blaster and rushed forward to punch him, but Big Chill became untangled and the punch phased through him, hitting the pillar behind him.

"Sorry about your hand." Big chill commented.

Vulkanus pulled his arm out and saw his hand completely destroyed with hydraulic fluid leaking from it. "You wouldn't fight for him if you knew what he did to me!" He growled.

"Deceived you? That's Kevin."

Suddenly Vulkanus threw some of the leaking fluid in Big chilli's eyes, momentarily blinding him, before punching him. The blue and black alien flew through the air and crashed against a pillar, before dropping on the floor.

The minions swarmed outwards towards Gwen, their pickaxe glowing bull as she sent out several energy tendrils that wrapped the aliens up and tossed them away, bringing up shields to block the swipes that instantly shattered once they were hit.

Huntress fired several of the minions away with her arrows and combatted them with her metal spear, doing several fancy flips and kicks, sending them flying away as she shouted out in fury.

Allison was able to easily avoid the minions' pickaxes while punching them out of his way. Whatever metal their weapons were made out of, it was hard enough to break bones with one punch. At least she knew they would stay down. Whether from being unconscious or from having a head that was sure to be killing them.

Gwen gave out several blasts of energy towards the aliens, tossing them all away and causing them to shout out before she blocked a pickaxe with an energy shield and blasted it back, sparking out and exploding causing the aliens to fly back.

Black Widow flipped over another swarm of minions before she leaned back and fired her black widow bites, hitting a pickaxe, blowing it up and creating a row of explosions that caused the aliens to fly back into a heap, all unconscious as she flipped her red hair back with a smirk.

Meanwhile, Ben was trying to get up, when suddenly Vulkanus grabbed him and lifted him up to his face. "I am the victim here!" He shouted. "When the plumbers came for me, they blew my ship!"

Suddenly, Big chill looked at him with a smile on his face and then blew a gust of his freezing breath on him, forcing Vulkanus to let go of him. He then became untangled and dove into Vulkanus's armor, freezing it solid, before popping out of the suit, and stood in front of him triumphantly.

Vulkanus hated losing. He hated admitting it even more. But in previous situations, he had never found himself looking into the face of someone who looked all too willing to crush him.

"Why aren't you trying to arrest me?" Vulkanus asked. "You're a Plumber, aren't you?"

"Not exactly. I'll leave the arresting to the ones that can actually get you to a jail cell." Big chill told him. "My only concern is my friend, whom you have imprisoned. And I don't mind breaking down the door of a known criminal to get him back. Now... last chance, don't ever dare to get back at Kevin, or else, I'll do worse than this. Understood?"

"Alright. I won't pursue him." Vulkanus growled, hating that he had to give  up.

"Good. Now..." Big chill trailed before untangling just his arm and shoving him in Vulkanus's chest, freezing the armor even more and a few seconds later, the metal gave away under the constant strain from shrinking due to cold and the suit broke apart.

"My suit! You're even worse than he is!" Vulkanus exclaimed, jerking his head towards Kevin. "Taking what you want and then still taking more."

"Yes. Because I feel so bad for robbing a known criminal. I'm just tearing up over here." Big chill said sarcastically before transforming back into his human form.

"Ben 10?" Vulkanus asked, crawling out of his dysfunctional suit.

Ben rolled his eyes and corrected his code name. "Omni X, I don't go by Ben 10 Anymore." He then glared at him. "Been a long time Vulkanus. I hope you haven't forgotten about me." He said before pinning the criminal to the floor with one foot. "Now let's get one thing straight." He glares down on him with a serious face.

"Kevin Levin may have wronged you once upon a time, but he's our friend. And me, my cousins and his sister? We look after our friends. So if you come after him... if you even try to hurt him and his sister. I will help you off this planet. As in, I'll forcibly eject you into space and force you to doggy paddle your way back to your planet. Understand?" Ben said with a piercing stare.

"Yes." Vulkanus said, cursing himself for sounding so scared.

Ben released the criminal before stuffing the holorecorder in his pocket, walking out with the others next to him. He knew his statement was a bit overdramatic, but he was trying to come across as threatening.

Meanwhile, Alison and Gwen were tending to Kevin. Alison broke the handcuffs while Gwen used her powers to reverse Kevin to his human form. He looked exhausted and his clothes were badly torn. Kevinalmost fell over, but Gwen caught him. "Easy." Gwen told him.

"Hey, what about Vulkanus?" Ben asked as he approached them with the rest.

"What about him?" Kevin said as Gwen and Alison helped him on his feet.

They were walking out of the warehouse when Ben suddenly said. "Wait." He held up the holodisk he took from Vulkanus. "A holodisk?"

"That's what you were after? Why didn't you tell us?" Gwen asked.

"Think about it." Kevin argued "I'm an ex-con. I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of. Stuff that if you knew, you'd never trust me. So next time I say 'drop it', drop it."

"It doesn't work like that Kevin." Surprisingly, it was Natasha who said that.

"I agree." Ben said. "It's not what you did that matters, but what you will do."

"Alright, alright I get it I'm sorry, I did what I did okay." Sighed Kevin as he crossed his arms.

"What about this holodisk?" Ben asked.

"This one is Special." Kevin said.

Gwen suddenly remembered the message Grandpa left them. "You think it's from our grandpa?"

"I don't know for sure. It's Plumber tech, apparently. There hasn't been Plumber activity down on Earth for a long time." Kevin told them.

"Except for Magister Labrid and Grandpa Max." Ben said, the pieces falling into place. "Both of them were working the same case."

"Of all the idiotic stunts, Why didn't you just tell them or more importantly me?" Natasha asked and Kevin glanced at her and sent her a look that said "Are you kidding me" look? Yeah that's the one.

"Can you blame me for being too cautious around you to hand over any and very valuable information enough to trust you not to report it back to your boss?" Kevin asked with a raised eyebrow this caused Natasha to look around Ben and his team who also had the same look Levin has given her and she sighed at this.

"He got a point, Agent Romanoff. With how your organization has been treating us, trusting you guys ain't exactly easy."

Natasha sighed. "I know that we have our differences but at this moment we have to put that aside and work together."

"How?" Ben asked.

"Huh?" Was her response.

"How would we know we can trust you?" Ben asked her with a serious expression.

"He's right, you're not just a Handler for us, you're also a world top spy and Assassin. How would we know you'll not stab us in the back the moment you thought we went rogue." Gwen asked.

Natasha glanced at the whole Alien Force and for the moment she didn't see normal teenagers playing heroes but former veterans and she remembers Fury's words.

'Rememeber this, War isn't won by weapons Agent Romanov, it's won by soldiers.'

With a sigh she unfolded her arms and slumped down her shoulders. "Fine, here's the deal; if or when I'm with you on any mission or on training days. I'll only be there to observe just as your Handler not a spy and I'll not be giving out any personal information to SHIELD or to the Director in general when it concerns either any of you or your plumber business but when the time comes to the point where the Invasion do happen we'll have to report it in, got it?" She said and the team, even Kevin who stood, looked at each other and then nodded.

"You got yourself a deal, Agent Romanov." Teases Ben playfully as he pulls out his hand and she gladly shakes it.

"Please, we're practically on the same team now. Call me Natasha, Tennyson." Smirks Natasha and Ben give it a grin in return.

"You gotta take me to dinner first Ms. Romanov before we get to the first name basis." Natasha actually snorted at this as she took her hand away.

"In your dreams Tennyson." A cough interrupted them as Kevin looked amused at them and Ben realized that they did sound like flirting again.

Ben coughs a little as well as he looks away from Natasha holding back a blush. "Right back to business." His friends actually snicker at his antics but then look serious.

"Indeed, care to tell us why you didn't tell us, Levin?" Natasha asked.

"Because things would go over easier if it was just me. You think the people I talk to would be so forthcoming if they see Omni X with me? You've got a reputation." Kevin told him. To everyone, it most certainly sounded like a good reason. But it didn't feel like the real reason to them. Not to mention there were so many holes in the logic.

"It makes sense, but not completely. That's no reason to just not tell us." Ben questioned as he walked up to Kevin glaring at him before punching him in the eye that caused him to fall into his butt.

"Ow! Now that's just great! I mean Seriously, not only is my arm possibly broken and my whole body is aching, but now I have to worry about a black eye!" Groaned Kevin as he was hissing in pain while rubbing his right eye where Benjamin punches him.

"Serves you right for not telling us." Becky said as Ally helped her brother back up to his feet.

"Indeed, We could've just shadowed you to make sure everything went well." Natasha concluded. 

"She does have a point dude." Ben agreed with Natasha. "It's better to have a very well trained spy if things like this tits up."

He was then elbowed by Gwen in the gut.

"Ben, watch your language." But Ben just shrugged at that.

"Whatever." Ben rolled his eyes before looking at Kevin. "Kev, we just pointed these trust issues with Agent Romanov, but you, you were still keeping things from us and don't bother trusting us with it and if this continues that means we can't work together if we can't trust each other." Ben said.

"I trust you." Kevin promised.

"But not enough to tell us the whole story. If you trusted us fully, you would tell us." Ally glared at her stubborn brother.

"Yeah, And as long as you won't, you can't expect us to trust you fully. This whole thing won't work unless we all trust each other." Ben told him. "I know you're used to being alone and keeping your own secrets, but that's not how a team is supposed to function."

"I couldn't tell you. There are things about me that you don't know." Kevin said.

"And you would rather keep it that way." Gwen said flatly. She then sighed and said,"Come here."

Kevin did so with some hesitation, and immediately felt a powerful punch into his gut. He fell down to one knee with the wind completely gone out of his body. But also felt two hands preventing him from falling to the ground.

"That's for lying to us, by the way." Gwen said, as It was she who punched him in the gut.

"Brother, You didn't think that we thought of that when we let you join the team?" Ally questioned him.

"And you don't think we also haven't thought about the fact that you've more than likely ripped people off, stole, hurt, and overall acted like a criminal?" Gwen added as they all have their arms crossed.

"Not as much as you're suggesting you have, I don't think." Kevin said as he looked at the whole team. "And I didn't lie to you. I just didn't tell the complete truth."

Natasha actually understands what Kevin has been through after all she has been on the same page as him when she was still working for the Red Room and since this is more personal to the team she let the team handle this conversation.

"Close enough. But news flash. We have thought about it. And while we get that you may not be completely good..." Ally trailed and the others nodded at this in agreement.

"We at least know that you're trying to change. Because the Kevin I knew when we were kids would sooner cut off his own legs than work with me, the good guy. You're trying to change, and it leaves the stupid stuff you've done in the past where it belongs. All that matters is that you prove to us that you're trying to be a better person here and now. Stealing from us and deflecting the truth is not a good way for you to prove that." Ben explained, his voice suddenly hard.

Kevin nodded. "I'll do whatever I can to keep your trust, Ben."

"Don't make us regret this choice again buddy."

As the team walked out of the warehouse, Becky turned towards Ben.

"Hey Ben, remember what you said to Vulkanus? Did you mean that?" Becky asked.

"What? No. You know we don't actually do killing and besides even if I have Way Big, I won't do it." Ben admitted with a smile. "I just wanted to scare the living daylights out of him. Think I did a good job?"

"He likely ruined that diaper of his." Black Widow said with an impressed tone and Becky nodded at that and snickers with a smile.

"Yeah what she said, you do well for a spy with that enhanced Interrogation. If that does keep him away, then thanks." Kevin said.

"That's the difference between friends and running buddies Kevin. We help with your troubles." Ally put a hand on his shoulder and the others nodded in agreement.

"Your sister is right, You may not be the nicest guy out there, but you're alright." Gwen said, making Kevin smile.

"Seriously though. Vulkanus should really find a new occupation. His suit didn't even take that long to scrap." Ben said.

"Considering you literally froze his suit until it broke apart, it's not exactly a surprise." Natasha reminded him.

"Doesn't mean it's not disappointing." Ben said and she rolled her eyes.

"You boys and your toys!" Sneer Natasha as she remember this type of conversation with her fellow SHIELD agents especially Agent fritz and Barton when it comes to expensive equipment or gadge for their weapons or tools.

"I mean seriously you do agree right that it's a very cheap armor."

"That sounds like words you've heard before." Kevin said offhandedly.

The girls let out a laugh that they unsuccessfully tried to fight, but Ben stomped on Kevin's toe hard enough to make the Osmosian hold it while hopping in place. It still didn't stop him from laughing. Even Ben looked torn between laughter and irritation. What a pair the six  of them made.
