Chapter 1

Archive footage showing the violent clash between Godzilla and Kong on the streets of Rio de Janeiro against the Skar King and Shimo, and after seeing the considerable damage in the city resulting from this battle. A radio announcer's voice was heard.

"Today marks one year to the day since the incident of Rio de Janeiro and four years since the incident in Hong Kong which saw the clash between Godzilla and Kong, but also the appearance of this giant mechanic Godzilla who rose from the laboratories of Apex Cybernetics and began to destroy everything in its path. These disasters will have been not without consequences, many lives were been lost these days, including the founder of Apex Cybernetics, Walter Simmons, his associate scientist Ren Serizawa, son of the late Dr. Ishiro Serizawa. Maia Simmons, Walter's daughter, is still missing and following the incident that resulted in numerous deaths and costs astronomical damage caused secrecy of its robotic godzilla, Apex Cybernetics was sued and the organization was dismantled. However, for six months now, rumors have been swirling about the existence of a mysterious eco-terrorist group that would call themselves the Alpha Breed and claim to be the successors of Apex, but we have no more information to share with you about them.

As for Godzilla and Kong, they have still not been seen since the last incident and the organization Monarch, which specializes in the study and containment of titans, refused to comment on their whereabouts. But one question remains on everyone's lips: can Godzilla still be considered the savior of the world, he who did not hesitate to destroy several nuclear power plants around the world in order to feed himself ?Opinions differ, but a girl, named Madison Russell, daughter of the famous doctors Mark and Emma Russell, spoke out on the subject, actively defending Godzilla and asserting her status as a protector of the world. However, the young girl received many criticisms and even threats against her, because let's not forget that her mother, the now deceased doctor Emma Russell, was the one who caused the release of the titans on the world, in particular the one that the we called Ghidorah and who nearly caused the end of the world. So I ask you: Is this Madison's word better than her mother? Can we trust? I'll let you debate that, dear listeners."

Year 2028

Miami, Florida

It was vacation time and it was on a beautiful, warm sunny day that people, locals and tourists alike, came to enjoy the sandy beaches and bathe in the ocean. But among all these people, there was one who didn't seem to be enjoying this.

Sitting on a beach towel on the sand, under the shade of an umbrella, Madison sat quietly and not exactly happy to be there. She had bathed a little before to cool off, but nothing more. Wearing a black bikini, she sat thoughtfully, staring at the ocean horizon, almost as if expecting "him" to reappear. If only, she thought and sighed softly. It had now been a little over a year since the battle of Rio de Janeiro which she had not witnessed directly but of which she was able to follow all the news live thanks to the numerous videos filmed by witnesses on site, and nothing since. Peace had returned, and that Madison knew by whom, though many seem to have forgotten.

After Hong Kong, Madison had wanted to stay with her father Mark to work with him at Monarch, but he had refused, insisting that she complete her studies.

But Madison was not fooled and saw that her father did not seem optimistic to see her also working in the field of titans, knowing what happened to Emma. He could really be a pain sometimes. Madison had grown up all her life knowing the titans, she had even seen them very closely, and even almost touched Mothra. She was among the best qualified on this planet to know these creatures and understand them. She would like to do more, to show everyone that Godzilla isn't the destroyer everyone now thinks he is. But instead, she was stuck on this beach for the holidays. Josh Valentine had brought her here a bit under duress, telling her that she should try to relax a little and take her mind off things after the exams. He should be back in a few minutes, having left to buy sodas. She didn't blame him, sincerely appreciating that he cared about her, but she didn't have the mind to want to laze on a beach. She thought back to Godzilla again, wondering where he might be now, the latest news announcing that he had been missing from Rome for more than six months now.

But another thing made Madison not want to be here. Several times, people who passed in front of her gave her sometimes curious glances, as if they recognized her, or even suspicious or even contemptuous glances. Since she had spoken openly in defense of Godzilla, the media had not hesitated to talk about it and reveal her face to the whole world, which had made Mark very angry. But what was done was done. Madison absolutely did not regret having expressed herself, and had chosen to somehow ignore the murderous criticisms, insults and threats that many Internet users had sent her. Otherwise, It was so much so that she chose to delete all her accounts on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

_"Oh, but I'm not dreaming, it's the little Madison I see hiding under her parasol." suddenly said a feminine, mocking voice.

Madison sighed heavily. Not her, she thought. A group of girls of her age, also in beachwear and having come to enjoy the sun, stood in front of her, scrutinizing her with looks oozing mockery and superiority. She knew them, all being students sharing her classes, in particular one, acting a bit like the leader, her eyes hidden by her sunglasses, her dark hair falling over her shoulders.

_ "Helen... what are you doing here?" Madison asked, forcing herself to be polite.

_ "Hey, beaches are for everyone, didn't you know that, little freak?" replied Helen, pretending to be outraged, making her friends laugh. "I should rather ask you that. Aren't you with your boyfriend the big monster?"

Madison sighed in annoyance, expecting such a response. Since her intervention to defend Godzilla, several Internet users had fun spreading rumors claiming that in fact Madison was defending Godzilla because she was in love with him. Rumors that had of course spread like a forest fire in the middle of summer. How many hateful and mean messages had she received about this? She wouldn't even know how to tell, and having almost caused her to fall into a nervous breakdown from which, fortunately, she had been able to pull herself out.

Taking it upon herself to not crush this bitch's face on the sand, Madison remained calm, but did not hesitate to glare at her.

_"What I do with my days is not your buisness." Madison said to set things straight. "So I advise you not to insist if you don't want to regret it."

_ "Wow, I'm scared to death." Helen mocked openly with the others, pretending to be shaking. "And what are you going to do? Call your fat monster buddy to your rescue? Look around you. Everyone knows who you really are. All these people are afraid of you. They hate you. So, why don't you do everyone a favor by going back to hiding with your mother?... Oh no, it's true, I forgot, you no longer have a mother."

With those cruel words, the group of girls left and started walking away laughing together. Beneath her lips, Madison gritted her teeth, and felt her fists clench, and a deep anger rising at the mention of Emma. Glaring at the group of girls, Madison stood up and hurriedly came to catch up with Helen, grabbing her shoulder to turn her around and punching her hard in the face, as she had learned when she practiced boxing. As the other girls looked on in shock, Helen fell backwards on the sand, and began to cry and scream in pain, her nose broken and pissing blood. Madison stood there watching, still angry but also as if coming back to reality and realizing what she had just done, looking down at her fist. Helen was helped by her friends who helped her up and gave her a handkerchief to put gently on her nose to stop the blood flowing a little. All around, people were obviously noticing what had happened, talking amongst themselves, but mostly, looking towards Madison.

_"But are you crazy or what? You're a monster!" one of the girls screamed in shock.

Madison said nothing, still confused. She had never lost control of herself like this, nor felt such anger inside her. It was as if, for a moment, a visceral hatred had taken control. Behind her, Josh came quickly, holding in his hands the cans of sodas he had gone to buy, but having seen what was happening on his way back.

_ "Madison? What's going on?" he asked, then noticing Helen with a bloody nose and supported by her friends.

Madison still didn't say anything and chose to leave, picking up her things quickly and starting from a hurried step, to which Josh, totally lost, took his things too and hurried to catch up with her.

He ended up finding Madison who had come back to the parking lot near the beach, to the van. The young woman opened the sliding rear door of the van, abruptly tossing her bag and belongings inside, and nervously creaking, sat down, running her hands over her face and tears streaming down her cheeks. Josh joined her, putting down his bag too and kneeling beside her to try to comfort her.

_ "Hey... how are you? Can you tell me what happened with Helen?"

_ "As usual..." Madison whispered. "She behaved like what she is: a bitch."

_ "Uh, yeah, ok that's true, but usually you just ignored what she was saying." Josh added, trying to understand. "Madi, you broke her nose, it's not nothing..."

_ "She talked about my mother." Madison said, looking both sad and angry.

To this, Josh did not know what to answer but now understanding better why she had acted like this. He chooses not to insist on this much too sensitive subject. He gave Madison time to calm down a bit. Shortly after, she was back in the back of the van, putting on a t-shirt and pants over her bikini. Josh had come to sit on the wheel.

_ "Okay, let's go back to the hotel." he said, starting to put the key in the ignition.

_ "Go if you want." Madison replied as she opened the back door of the van again to get out. "I'll join you later."

_"Uh, Madi, are you sure?" Josh asked.

_ "Please Josh." Madison insisted, looking at him and forcing herself to remain calm. "I need to walk and be a little alone."

She didn't even give him time to say anything else and started walking away, leaving Josh completely perplexed, but also worried for her.

Madison had to walk a long time, joining a part of the beach isolated, very remote and deserted of any presence. Walking alone on the sand along the endless expanse of water, Madison didn't say a word and finally stopped, the water brushing the tips of her sandals. She looked once again towards the distant horizon of the peaceful ocean, vaguely listening to the chirping of the few seabirds. Sadly, she couldn't get those thoughts out of her head. Her mother, Helen's hateful words, her sudden, uncontrollable anger... She also thought about him again... Godzilla... Where is he, she thought. Where are you?

She was angry with everyone, without being able to explain it. No one could understand her, what she was going through. With shaking hands, Madison let out all the sadness and anger she was trying in vain to contain and screamed facing the ocean, falling to her knees on the edge of the water, her scream echoing and even scaring away the birds. After venting all her rage, Madison remained on her knees, staring out to sea. She had never felt so alone... so misunderstood... like... a monster.
