The next morning, you felt Hyunjin's hand underneath yours, and you smiled to yourself. You turned around and admired him; his messy hair, the beauty mark under his left eye, how soft his lips looked.
"You're staring."
You flinched back, even though his voice was quiet, and laughed at yourself. "Can you blame me?"
He opened one of his eyes and smiled, then he quickly kissed your nose in the cutest way possible, and rolled on top of you. "I'm going back to sleep."
"Hyunjin, we have to go to school." You laughed.
"Oh, yeah. I almost forgot."
He rolled off of you and off the bed, landing on his feet. You laughed at him as your eyes landed on the divorce papers, and you stopped laughing.
"I have to tell him." You sighed.
He cupped your cheek and smiled gently at you. "You can do it. I know you can."
You nodded. "We should get ready first."
He agreed and both of you took separate quick showers, and got dressed. After Hyunjin brushed your hair out for you, you grabbed the papers and headed downstairs. You found your dad in the kitchen, and you walked up next to him.
"Hey, Dad."
"Hi, honey. Did you sleep okay?"
"Yes and no." You replied.
He tilted his head and you sighed. "Mother hates clubs, and I remembered that last night," you trailed off slightly. "That's why you couldn't find me, because I went back to ask the manager if there was anything left in the room after her and Mr. Kim left. I knew there had to be something else going on, and- he handed me these."
You pushed the papers towards your father and he grabbed them with hesitation. He read the top, and you could see his expression change, his whole demeanor. The way his shoulders slumped, and his cheeks puffed out told you that he was upset.
"I'm sorry that I have to be the one to tell you this." You whispered.
He looked up and grabbed your shoulder. "Don't apologize, honey. Your mother would've never told me and I wouldn't have known until I was being asked to sign the paperwork."
"What are you gonna do?"
"If it will make her happy, I'll sign the papers."
You shook your head. "In my opinion, we'll probably be better on our own, just you and me, but you should stand up for yourself. Has she ever given you what you want? Think about it: everything has to be her way and we always have to do what she wants."
"You're right, you're right." He replied. "What would you do?"
You grinned and started telling him the plan that you had already told Mrs. Kim and Hyunjin, and he was intrigued. He agreed and he even said that he would help you out with it, and so your plan was ready to be put into motion.
Hyunjin was holding your hand when the two of you walked into school. Yejoon had big eyes when he saw it, and he held his hands out in front of him when both of you went up to him.
"What is this? What did I miss?" He questioned.
"We're just holding hands." You laughed.
You looked over and saw Yui glaring at you, then she crossed her arms and walked off. "Daehyun's back."
You felt your blood run cold and you snapped your head in Yejoon's direction. "What?"
Both Hyunjin and Yejoon went wide-eyed at the fright in your eyes. "He's not gonna get anywhere near you. I promise." Hyunjin reassured.
Hyunjin's fingers got tighter around yours, but your heart didn't slow down as you saw Daehyun walk around the corner and make direct eye contact with you. It felt like everything slowed down and then you started walking, not knowing what was about to happen. Time went back to normal as the boys grabbed you and held you back, while all Daehyun did was wink at you.
Hyunjin and Yejoon dragged you into a separate hallway and stood in front of you. "I don't know why I did that." You said.
"It was a reaction, and that's okay, but don't worry about him." Yejoon said. "You have too much going on to worry about someone who's not worth your time."
You sighed and rubbed your eyes. "You're right."
Hyunjin held out his hand and you grabbed it, then the three of you headed to your classes.
It was about six p.m., and you were sitting in a hospital room, waiting for your doctor to determine whether your wrist was fractured or broken. It was completely silent, your mind on other things, when your dad walked in.
"The doctor said he'd be in here soon."
You nodded and crossed your arms, watching the door closely. You watched feet enter the room and looked up, and the doctor had a serious look on his face.
"After looking at the x-rays, we've found that your wrist is broken. We wish you would have come in sooner, but I understand that we all have lives to attend to." He paused. "The break is pretty bad, so we've decided to preform your surgery tonight. Is that alright?"
You looked over at your dad and he nodded. "That's fine."
"Okay. We're going to go ahead and give you your anesthetics, and we'll start the surgery."
He left the room after that, and your dad patted your knee. "It'll be okay, kiddo."
"I've never had surgery before." You whispered.
He sighed. "I know, but I'll be right outside in the waiting room, okay? Don't be scared."
You nodded and looked over as one of the nurses walked in. You took the pills she had in the cup and laid back on your bed, your heart pounding as you slowly fell asleep.
