RANCORE -17

Talissa was dressed in all white. She was waiting for Robb to come, they were going to get married. But he had a meetings, a sudden one. He and Stannis Baratheon would finally negotiate, the two men hated each other and if they could they would have already killed each other. But this wasn't about liking one another, this was about something much greater. It was about the seven kingdoms. It was about peace and war, it was about life.

"We want to attack Winterfell and take it back from the Boltons, the North will bleed as long as the Boltons rule it" Robb said again and looked at the king

"I understand but you know my term, you need to drop the crown. In my reign" Stannis argued, Robb didn't have many choices anyway so he went with it. He had already lost took much because of his pride.

"Isn't survival more important than your pride?" Stannis spoke again

"You are right, this isn't about anything else. It's not about power or gold. This is about justice....we have a deal. We will attack Winterfell in a month, may the gods be good" Robb said and they shook hands.

"Please join me and my future wife at the ceremony of our wedding" he added with a small smile while Stannis nodded

"Of course, I am glad you kicked out the Targaryen scum. She wasn't fit to rule the North"

"She will come again....words came that she now rules as queen of Meereen. Slavers Bay is now a free city, with free men and women. And her dragons have gotten larger" he said as they walked out

"We will defeat her, she can sail her dragons here. We will face her and beat her" Stannis said and looked at Robb while Robb nodded with a small smile

But were they ready to face Maegal, with her Unsullied and Dornish army? With Karstark men and at least four other companies from Essos? And the biggest problem of them all....three dragons. Yet what troubled Robb more was that Maegal was his love. The woman he loved and would love for the rest of his life.

Until the sun rises from the west and sets to the east.

And now he was ready to marry Talissa, the woman who broke him and Maegal. But it wasn't her fault, it was his. It was all his fault. And now holding her hands and looking into her eyes he had to say the words he once spoke to another. To promise something that wasn't true. But people do it all the time, what would be the difference this time?

"-I am hers and she is mine, from this day until the end of my days" he said and forced a smile, after the kiss he put the cloak around her shoulders and took her hand.

It was over, they were officially married to each other. Now there was no way back. Time moves only forward. His mother had once told him, his mother....he missed her so much. He didn't even have time to grieve. His grieve was silent. It was eating him, inside out. Destroying every human part he had left. First his father, then his siblings....then his mother.

There wasn't a big fest, there was no time for those. Only a simple dinner with the Mormorts and Stannis Baratheon. Robb Stark had talked a little with Ser Davos. He looked like a nice and just man. But of course he tried to pay the most attention to his wife. The wine tasted better than usual and the food was good, or maybe he was just hungry. At the end of the dinner he stood up and took Talissa with him, he escorted her to their room.

She kissed him and he kissed her back, her hands were on his chest and his were on her hips but his heart and mind weren't there. After some time, when they were on the bed he just couldn't do it. He simply couldn't, he was too tired and just...exhausted. Life had exhausted him.

Maegal was sitting on the thrones of Meereen finally, now she was a true ruler. A queen. But today was a hard day, she had to make a really important decision in the end of the day while now she had to execute a man. For murder, he had murdered one of her most trusted advisors. He was one of the masters of Meereen, one of the few she didn't kill.

And now she had to serve justice. As everyone gathered she stood there. She could hear people calling her Mysha, which meant mother in old Valyrian. For a reason she couldn't understand they believed that because she had freed them she was something like their mother.

"We have gathered all here today to serve justice, this man here murdered someone whose life wasn't his to take." She said coldly and held her sword.

Herastus looked at her, she would do it? Why? All queens and kings had executioners. Why didn't she want one?

"Do you have any last words?" She asked and looked at the man

"Mercy" he said

"I, Maegal Targaryen. First of my name, Khallesi of the Great grass sea and Mother of dragons, the Unburnt, sentence you to die" she said and cut his head.

That made everyone be quiet for a moment, she looked around her at the crowd. When they started hissing she frowned, not expecting it. Then she understood....the former slaves were trying to attack the masters. And the other way around

"Protect your queen!" Herastus called out, Maegal was under the shields but she was holding her sword. Ready for a fight

It wasn't needed though, as they made it to the pyramid safely. She paced around thinking. Why would they do it? In the North her people would never rebel against such decision. With a sigh Herastus walked inside the room and looked at her

"Why did you do it? You could have speared his life" he said confused

"That wouldn't be justice though? I can't let people murder and walk around the streets as free people. Can't have that, not under my rule" she said

"Fine! Then why didn't you let me do it?" He asked and frowned "you are a queen, all queens and kings have executioners" he said

"Not the ones of the North" Lord Karstark said and smiled at Maegal while she nodded

"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword, if you are gonna sentence someone to death, then you owe it to them to look into their eyes and listen to their final words. Or they don't deserve to die at all" she said and nodded "I am not going to have men doing my work"

"Alright, sounds fair enough" Herastus nodded understanding

"It is, it's my way. It's the northern way" she said and looked at her sword before she handed it to someone to clean it

At dinner she was eating and chatting with Lord Karstark and Herastus when the news came, she opened the letter and almost choked. No, it couldn't be possible. She felt like the world was playing a sick joke on her. With a deep sigh she looked down and tried to not cry. It was breaking her heart, her already broken heart. Her uncle Oberyn Martell was dead. He was defeated and he died....by the Lannisters.

"We are sailing to Westeros sooner than planned, find me a fleet large enough to sail my Unsullied, Dothraki and Dornish army back to Westeros. We take Dragonstone and march North. I will not be in the ships, I will be riding my dragons" she said and stood up

"Then we take Kings Landing" she finished and Herastus sighed

"We don't have enough ships" he said

"Then build some! I want a fleet large enough to sail my whole army back to Westeros by the next month" she said sternly and walked out of the room

The moment she reached hers, she broke down crying. She just lost family, again. First Ned, then Bran and Rickon and now....now Oberyn. Her uncle. By blood. She sighed and wiped away her tears, she shouldn't be crying. She should avenge him. But what good would revenge do? It would be an unending circle. Oberyn died because he wanted to avenge Elia, Robb and her almost died because they wanted to avenge Ned.

And then...then Herastus would want to avenge her and the circle will go on and on. Repeating itself. And blood would be spilled and the gods would laugh with their foolishness. No, Maegal couldn't afford to be another pawn in this game. Only seeking for power. For the illusion of it at least

By the next day she was much better, she woke up alone in her last night's clothes. She had cried herself to sleep as much as she didn't want it. It was good none had seen her. As she got up from the bed she saw a small letter on her nightstand that caught her interest more than the other. It had the Mormort sigil. She quickly opened it frowning. Why would house Mormort sent her something like that. As she read it, she couldn't help but be somewhat surprised.

"I, Lord Robert Stark. Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, take as my wife. Talissa from Volantis to stand beside me as Lady Stark. House Mormort will have us and the ceremony. I wanted to inform you, Maegal Targaryen that the Starks are marching to Winterfell again. We shall take it back from the ones who would destroy it, in two moons we will be waiting for you to come and negotiate with us and Stannis Baratheon in our camp next to Winterfell. If you decide to come and help us, you shall be rewarded. You will receive a letter for the exact place and time of our meeting if you write us back.

-Lord Robert Stark"

Maegal read the whole letter but paid more attention in the start, so he married Talissa. He was quick, she could only imagine how many times he had dreamt of marrying his lover. She sighed and sat down again, the love of her life loved another. Classic.

Now she was torn between helping Robb take Winterfell back, after all it was her home too. She had grown up there, lived there and she missed her home. Meereen or Essos or Sunspear wasn't the place, it was Winterfell. And she wanted to go back home. But she couldn't just drop everything here.

She fixed herself and put on a new dress, heading down for breakfast while holding the letter. She needed to show it to Herastus, sitting down on the chair she passed the letter to Herastus

"Good morning everyone" taking a sip of her tea, waiting to see his reaction

"And you want to go?" He asked with a frown

"Winterfell is my home, I need to go" she said calmly

"He betrayed you and now he wants to take his Castle back and asks for your help because he can't do it alone" he said and chuckled

"No you don't get it....it's not about Robb it's about Winterfell. I can't let my home be destroyed by monsters" she said

"I know I won't change your mind anyway so....alright I will do my best, build the ships and have the army ready to leave" he said and smiled at her. She smiled back at him.

"But I am scared it might be a trap" he whispered and put his hand on her cheek

"Robb would never do that" she whispered "right?" While he shook his head

Could Robb really set such a big trap? For what? To kill her? No, Robb would never do that. Yes, she was proven to be a Targaryen but....no Robb would never do that to her. Not now, not ever.

Jon Snow, bastard of Winterfell. He had lost his love, Ygritte. It was the second woman he loved and lost....the first one. The first one was Marienna, because she had married his brother. Robb. And now he was named Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. He had done well some would say. But Jon felt like he had failed himself. He should have left to side with Robb and Marie....but now, now it was all over. Catelyn was dead, Robb was gone and Marie was....probably dead. None knew to tell him for sure.

"There is someone here to see you, Lord Commander" a man told him and Jon nodded, as he got out and looked down he gasped. It was Robb and a woman he didn't know.

Yet Mare wasn't with him. Where was she? The worst thought run through his mind. Yet he got down quickly and hugged his brother. And Robb hugged him back. Both boys had turned into men, young men who had lost too much. When they pulled away Jon glanced at his brother

"What happened to you?" Jon asked "I thought you were dead....thank the gods you aren't" he whispered

"Long story....I will tell you. I promise. Um....meet my wife, Talissa Stark" he said and looked at her "Talissa, this is Jon Snow. My brother" he explained but Jon only frowned

No, this couldn't be right. Where was Marie? She was his wife, not that woman. She was the queen in the North, where was Marienna? He was worried, scared, everything all at once. He felt like a little child again. Helpless.

"Where is Marienna?" He whispered after he gave a small smile to Talissa, he noticed how the new wife looked down and Robb sighed but he noticed a cold look into his eyes

"Marienna Stark is dead" Robb answered coldly and Jon felt the world spinning around him. She had promised to never leave him.

They had promised to be together forever, childish promises but he lived to see her face one more time....she just couldn't be dead. It wasn't right.

"No....no, how?" Jon asked and walked slowly to some wooden bench to sit down with a sigh. As the tears started forming in his eyes

"She is dead Jon, there is no Marienna anymore" he replied coldly

"How can you be so cool about it?! She was your wife, our friend. Our everything" he said and glared at his brother

"She was your everything, Jon" Robb lied, a big lie. The biggest lie he had ever told

Jon stood up and looked at Robb, it was like they were back at Winterfell only that now Marie wouldn't come to drop a sassy comeback. She was dead. He was waiting for someone to tell him that it was a lie, that everything was alright. That Mare had come back to him to the safety of her home and her friend....but instead all he saw was Robb, he looked lost and Jon would swear. It was the first time He wanted to hurt his brother

"Yes, she was my everything and you took it from me" he said bitterly "that, will take a long time to forgive" he finished and started walking away

"She is not actually dead! Marienna Stark, the queen in the North died as a name and as a person. Maegal Targaryen is still alive and is in Essos" Talissa called out, she just couldn't bear to see a man like Jon like that. After all it wasn't exactly true.

Turning around Jon glanced at her then at Robb confused yet somehow relieved. It was like he had died and came back to life in some time

"Is that true?" He asked his brother

"Marienna is dead, yet Maegal Targaryen is alive. Marie was a Targaryen, she had been one all her life. A dragon pretending to be a sheep. She has three dragons and an army of Unsullied across the Narrow sea. She ran away from me and broke her vows....she is dead to me" Robb finished coldly and he and Talissa headed to the room that was prepared for them

But Jon couldn't help but smile, Mare was alive. He would find her, this time he wouldn't give up on her. She was doing her own thing, being free and living her own life and that was the only thing it mattered. He chuckled and grinned. Jon Snow hadn't smiled like that in a long time. And all because Mari- no....Maegal Targaryen

Yes Jon still had a lot to learn about what happened but....he knew and prayed for his little Marie to be safe and sound. That was all that mattered

So....Jon is back!!! Yes there are some things altered but everything will fit in, don't worry much.  So my lovelies tell me...what do you think of this book? You like how it has turned out? Nope? Yep? Also don't forget I vote and comment, it really matters a lot for me. Love you all and do your thing, always 😉❤️
