Chapter 5: A wet day and creepy dream.
(Chucky warns you. Creepiness over 9000. Dang, I love PopularMMOs, I even listened to his intro while I wrote this. Oh, wait, getting off-topic. Back to the chapter!)
SPLOOSH!!!
A whirlwind of water shot up and crashed down on the beach, soaking Bryan. Jake landed gracefully on the shore, next to his flirtatious friend. They had grown closer and Jake had even played along with Bryan's flirting a few times. Jake had even realized that he liked Bryan when he wasn't being a disgusting pervert.
Bryan shook out his wet hair. "Did you have to get me wet? You see this outfit?"
"Yes. What about it?"
"This was a DESIGNER, Jakey~Poo. Now, I'm gonna have to change my clothes, and this was one of my best outfits, too!" Bryan whined.
"Serves you right for wearing that on the day we decided to give you new powers."
"I guess so. But, don't expect me to wear this tonight."
Jake nodded. Bryan had been bugging him for weeks and, finally, he had agreed to go on their second date. He had been very light on the details, just saying for Jake to meet him by the docks at 11 PM. Bryan seemed to enjoy late-night dates.
"Now, can we finally teach you that Regeneration move?"
Bryan looked at Jake with concern in his eyes. "Jakey~Poo, we've done Regeneration about ten times. Are you feeling ok?"
Jake yawned and stumbled a bit. "We've just been at this for a while. I'm exhausted."
Bryan sighed. "I'm sorry for pushing you so much, Jakey. Come on, I think I've gotten enough powers for today."
Bryan set his Inferno Wand down and helped Jake back to their cabin. Thankfully, they hadn't gone too far; but still, Jake was winded when they finally stepped in the door. Bryan set Jake down on his bed. Not Jake's bed. Bryan's.
"Wait, Bryan, what-" Jake protested.
"Not now, Jakey. I have a feeling my bed's a lot comfier than yours; I want you to be as comfortable as possible~"
Jake tried to sit up, but Bryan pushed him back down onto the bed. "You need rest, Jakey~Poo. You stay here and sleep for a few hours. I'll see if I can pull a few strings and get you the day off."
Jake was too tired to put up a fight, so he just shut his eyes whilst Bryan walked out of the door.
Of course, nightmares struck.
Jake found himself in a black void. Shadows curled around his feet and wisps of blue light swirled around. Ghosts. Jake was in the Underworld. He stood at the edge of a massive pit, the kind where you knew that it was bottomless. If you put Camp Oasis inside of this pit, it would fit with room to spare.
A voice started chuckling. It was a horrible sound; like knives grating on wood. "Jake...son of my son, Poseidon..."
Jake tried to speak, but something seemed to be gluing his jaw shut.
The voice spoke again in a stupid rhyme. "You have no idea of what is to come...you cannot see, how he will serve me. Perhaps I should show you..."
The spirts crowded around Jake, trying to shake him and whispering 'Wake! Wake!' Jake tried to move, but, again, something was keeping him in place.
Something human-sized started to materialize in front of him, floating over the pit, but before Jake saw what it was, he woke up in a cold sweat.
What in Zeus? he thought.
He hoped that, with any luck, the dream was just a nightmare, but, deep down, he knew that demigod dreams, were never just dreams.
