Chapter 16: BROTHER!!!!

A/N PLEASE READ: Hello, everyone I have an announcement. As of now, this story will not contain Stony. I'm sorry but I just can't keep writing something that goes against my beliefs. It doesn't mean I hate LBGTQ+ but I just don't feel comfortable writing something about it. From now on Steve and Tony's relationship will be  a mix between a sibling or even a father-son relationship. I have edited previous chapters with any Stony stuff to fit this new relationship.

To those who will stop reading this story because of this announcement I am very sorry I have disappointed you and I hope you'll find a story that satisfies your needs. You guys were awesome readers and no doubt are awsome people too.

To those who will continue reading than you very much. You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you once again for reading this story regardless of th ships I will include here.

I hope you guys enjoy the chapter.

Tony's POV:

As Percy and I fall off the enormous glacier I try to do everything in my power to slow my fall. I try to fly using my fire powers but the water puts out the flames as soon as they come to life.

And also there's the fact that I'm too disoriented to do anything right now.

I mean, you try using your superpowers when you're falling off a glacier along with a bunch of ghosts while being drenched in ice-cold water.

But thankfully, my suit comes to the rescue. It envelops me and carries me high above the wreckage; the legion's standard still in hand. I tell FRIDAY to activate the heater inside my suit while I raise my body heat at the same time; and soon, I'm all warm and toasty.

          But, Percy isn't.

I dive towards the wreckage and frantically search for my godson. Although I know he can't drown, I know that one of the ghosts could've stabbed him or something. After a few minutes of searching, I see him pop out of the water and calmly swim towards a small iceberg.

"Hi Mechy!" he exclaims from his little iceberg. "You ok?"

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and fly towards him. "I'm ok, how about you?"

He shrugs and says, "I've been in worse situations."

"I don't know if I should be concerned or not," I say.

"Well anyway, there's a lot of Imperial gold down there, the legion could use it," he says while pointing at the water.

          "On it."

I step out of my suit and raise my body heat even more before diving into the water with Percy close behind me. We retrieve dozens of weapons and armor, we even haul up an Imperial gold chariot. Once we retrieve just about everything, we load it all into the chariot and strap it all in.

And once that's done, we sit on a tiny iceberg while we wait for Frank, Hazel, and Arion to show up.

"Hey Mechy," Percy says, "I need to ask you a question."

          "Shoot."

"How did you know about the legion? I mean, you were ok with Frank and Hazel being Romans. And you knew about Gaea and that Jason dude. Did the people back at Camp Half-Blood tell you?" he asks me.

"Well, the people at camp told me about the Jason kid, but I already knew that the Romans existed before that," I reply.

          "Really?! How?!" he asks.

"Well, when I told the team I was a demigod Clint stormed out of the meeting room and locked himself in his room. When we asked what was wrong he called me a 'graecus' and I was so confused. But then Natasha said it was Latin for 'Greek' or 'outsider.' And that's when Clint told us he was a Roman son of Apollo and that he used to be in the legion," I say.

"Woah, that's pretty cool," Percy says, "but why did you have to tell them you're a demigod?"

"Because I had to use my powers in front of them and they wanted answers," I reply, "...and I also told them about you."

         "You wHAT?!"

"Relax, they're not going to experiment on you or anything. They swore not to say anything about you."

          "Ok..."

Then, suddenly Hazel, Frank, and Arion basically materialize in front of us; but there was no sign of Aclyoneus.

"Hey, guys," I say while standing up. "What took you so long."

"Oh nothing much, just killing a giant," Frank replies as he climbs off Arion, "y'know, the usual."

"That's cool and all, but I've got a bone to pick with you Zhang. You can turn into a bear?" Percy asks.

         "And an eagle?" I add.

         "And an elephant!" Hazel exclaims.

"An elephant," I say as I shake my head in disbelief.

"So that's your family gift? You're a shapeshifter?" Percy asks.

"Wait, hold up. 'Family gift'? I have a feeling I missed something," I say.

Frank scratches the back of his neck. "Yeah, well you see, Periclymenus, my ancestor, the Argonaut—he could shapeshift. And he passed down the ability, that's why it's the family gift."

"And he got that gift from my dad," Percy finishes. "That's so not fair. I can't turn into animals!"

Wait, he's got a point. Why can't we turn into animals? I ask Poseidon.

Well, you see it's because it's not one of my powers, Poseidon explains, I can give that power to someone else, but shapeshifting is not one of the powers of my domain. Therefore when you and Percy received my power, you didn't get the ability to shapeshift.

Ok, but you could've given us the power to shapeshift, I say. I feel him getting nervous.

Well... ummm... you see- What's that? Oh! Amphitrite is calling me! Gotta go! See you later Tony!

Wait! Come back here! I'm not done with you!

          No response.

          Aggghhhh!

I'll guess my shapeshifting powers will have to wait.

"Hey, Tony! We need you back in the land of the living!" Percy shouts, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turn to look at him and notice that Frank and Percy are inside the chariot and Hazel on Arion's back.

"The legion could use your help, Mr. Stark, would you like to come with us?" Hazel asks me.

"Yeah sure, I mean it's not like I can die or anything," I say before stepping into my suit. "And kid, call me Tony."

"Alright, Mr- I mean, Tony. We're going to Camp Jupiter, do you know where that is?"

          "Yep!"

"Alright, try to keep up!" she shouts before she zooms off.

I fly after her and all throughout the four-hour-long journey Arion and I keep fighting for the lead. He insults me and I insult him back. He gains the lead for a while and then I do, it's a never-ending cycle. Well, at least until we arrive at Camp.

When we look at the sight before us, we know that Camp Jupiter needs a lot of help. The Twelfth Legion is ridiculously outnumbered, even with the help of those purple ghosts. And the army of monsters is slowly making its way to the city.

If this were any other situation I would say that New Rome is quite beautiful, but some of it is on fire and some buildings are collapsed.

          "We're too late," Hazel says.

"No," I insist. "They're still fighting. We still have a chance."

"Where's Lupa?" Frank asks. "She and her pack... th-they should be here."
"She did what she could," Percy says. "She slowed down the army on its way south, but now it's up to us."

"Which means we've got to get the eagle and weapons to the legion," I say. "Like, now."

"But Arion is out of steam!" Hazel exclaims. "We can't drag this all the way down there by ourselves"

I'm about to say that maybe I can pull it with my suit, but then Percy smirks, and says, "Maybe we don't have to."

Then he whistles as loud as he can and then a very familiar Cyclops and hellhound emerge from the shadows; but they're accompanied by a... harpie?

"Hellhound!" Frank screams as he knows an arrow.

"Calm down!" Percy shouts as he stands between the two. "It's ok. They're my friends."

"Brother! Grease Man!" Tyson exclaims as he jumps off Mrs. O'Leary and tackles us in a hug. "You're not dead! I like it when you're not dead!"

"Yeah, me too bud. But if you don't let us go we will be," I say as I struggle to breathe.

"Oh sorry," Tyson says as he releases us. "Ella meet Grease Man; he helps brother. Grease Man, meet Ella; she's pretty and smart!" The harpy blushes at his comment.

"Nice to meet you, Ella," I say. "I'm Tony Stark."

"'A wealthy American business magnate, playboy, philanthropist, and ingenious scientist, Anthony Edward 'Tony' Stark suffers a severe chest injury during a kidnapping. When his captors attempt to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction, he instead creates a mechanized suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. Later, Stark develops his suit, adding weapons and other technological devices he designed through his company, Stark Industries. He uses the suit and successive versions to protect the world as Iron Man. Although at first concealing his true identity, Stark eventually publicly reveals himself to be Iron Man,' Wikipedia.org," Ella says.

I simply stare at her, dumbfounded. Did she just quote Wikipedia?

"If you're thinking 'Did she just quote Wikipedia?' then you are correct!" Percy exclaims. "Ella memorizes anything and everything she reads. But I'm not sure how she read Wikipedia, 'cause that's a website..."

"Wow," is all I can say. And I thought that I had a good memory... but most of the time I can't even remember what I had for breakfast. I'm weird like that.

"I know right? But now's not the time to focus on Ella's memory skills."

"Wait, hold up," Frank says, holding his hands in a 'time out' gesture. "Am I the only one who feels that this deserves an explanation? I mean, a cyclops just called Percy 'brother' and he called a hellhound his friend. That's pretty weird, and that's coming from me."

"Ok, so Hazel and Frank meet my half-brother Tyson and my pet hellhound, Mrs. O'Leary. Tyson and Mrs. O'Leary meet my friends Hazel and Frank," Percy says. Tyson gives them a bright smile and waves and Mrs. O'Leary just barks and wags her tail.

"How is he your brother?" Hazel asks.

          "Tyson's a son of Poseidon," I answer.

"Which reminds me, Tyson, Frank is a descendant of Poseidon," Percy adds.

"Brother!" Tyson shouts as he gives Frank a big hug.

"Actually he's your great, great, great, great, great-... oh nevermind, yeah he's your brother," Percy says with a chuckle.

"Nice to meet you, Tyson," Frank manages to choke out.

"Tyson, you're choking him," I say.

"Oh, sorry brother," Tyson apologizes as he releases Frank.

"Don't worry about it," Frank says as he catches his breath.

"But we do need to worry about this," Hazel says as she points to the battle beneath us. "We don't have all day."

"Oh right! I completely forgot about that," Percy says. "Ok so here's the plan..."

Percy quickly explains the entire situation to Tyson. But the poor guy seems horrified at the fact that there are Cyclopes and centaurs in the giant's army. He doesn't want to hit 'pony men,' so we said that he just has to scare them away.

Once we all know what the plan is, we attach the chariot to Mrs. O'Leary and Percy climbs on her back.

We give an SPQR banner to Tyson, so the legion wouldn't mistake him for a bad Cyclops.

Hazel climbs on Arion's back, who had recovered enough energy to carry one person at normal horse speed.

Frank turns into a bald eagle.

I stay in my suit while carrying the legions standard so the legion would know I'm on their side.

And Ella just recites facts from random books as if knowing how to cook spaghetti marinara would help against an army of monsters.

          Then, we roll out.

We charge down the hill, ready for whatever Polybotes throws at us. We spot the Fifth Cohort in the middle of a sea of Cyclopses. They're doing pretty good now, but they're going to be overwhelmed in a matter of seconds.

"Fifth Cohort!" Percy yells just as he slams into the wall of Cyclopes.

He jumps off, takes out Riptide and starts destroying the monsters. Hazel and Arion zoom by slashing and disintegrating anything that stands in their way; while Frank claws at them with their talons. And Tyson beats them with his club. As for me, I do my best killing the monsters with my repulsor while trying not to drop the golden eagle.

Once every monster that was terrorizing the Fifth Cohort is reduced to golden dust, Frank shifts back into his human form, points at Mrs. O'Leary's chariot and says, "Fifth Cohort get your Imperial gold weapons right here!"

For a second they just stare at us, processing the sight in front of them. But then an explosion in the distance snaps them out of their trance and they scramble towards the chariot; they start to discard their old, dented armor for some new, shiny armor.

And soon, we're the most powerful Cohort in the legion.

"Wait!" a kid says, probably the Centurion due to the medal on his chest. "Isn't that the legion's standard?"

"Isn't that Iron Man?" another kid asks.

"Yes, and yes," I answer. "But guys can ask questions later, right now we've got a legion to save. Who's with me?!"

The entire Cohort gives out a battle cry and charges into battle. We slam into a wall of centaurs that's attacking the Third Cohort and I can almost say I'm sorry for those poor creatures. Those centaurs didn't stand a chance. The once powerful monsters are nothing but a pile of dust.

The two Cohorts combine forces and start acting as one, destroying anything that stands in their way. But before we can get any further I stop and give Percy the eagle.

          "Here take it," I say.

"But-" Percy starts to protest but I cut him off.

"No 'buts' it's not right that I should be carrying it. I'm Greek, but you're a soldier of Rome, and besides you deserve it Minicanic."

Percy looks stunned at my words, but he nods and takes the eagle before sprinting into battle. I watch him go, feeling proud at how far my godson has come. But my moment is short lived. I feel something grab me from behind and I instinctively burst into fire. FRIDAY makes my suit come off so I won't melt it and the monster that grabbed me disintegrates.

The legionaries around me scramble away from me, startled by the sudden act.

"Stay back or face the heat!" I warn everyone.

"Hey! It's that fireboy that ruined our lunch!" a Cyclops yells. "Get him!!!!"

Then she and two other Cyclopes charge at me with fury in their eyes. I shoot fire at them and they're dead before they even get close to me.

I order my suit to fight monsters and I put on my signature fire armor. I start to blast fire at monsters and fire travel every now and then to disorient them.

I take out some little "toys" I brought with me and throw them at the monsters. And soon, they all have glitter in their eyes or slime in their hair, making them easy pickings for the legionnaires.

I create a sword out of my fire and start to slash and stab at the monsters. Arrows bounce off my armor. Monsters disintegrate trying to touch me. Everything in a ten foot radius is a pile of ashes (except the legionnaires.)

In other words, I feel completely unstoppable.

         Until I get stabbed.

I was feeling too cocky, I got too carried away. I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings.

Then I feel a sharp pain in my gut as my fire armor melts away and I cry out in pain. I look down at my stomach and see the tip of a gold sword sticking out of it. I fall to my knees and gasp as the monster yanks it's sword out of my stomach. I crumble to the ground clutching my stomach, feeling my blood seep through my fingers.

The monster raises its sword for the final blow and I do nothing to stop it. I mean how can I? I can barely even breathe. I close my eyes and brace myself for certain doom, but it never comes.

I open them again but instead of the monster I see Percy standing right where the monster stood only seconds before, fury in his eyes. But that quickly disappears once his eyes meet mine.

"Oh gods, Tony," Percy says as he drops his sword and kneels at my side. He gently flips me on my back and winces once he sees the stab wound. "Stay here Tony, I'm going to get a healer ok? You're going to be alri-"

          "No," I croak, "I'm f-fine. I've b-been worse. Go kill t-that giant."

"There's no way I'm leaving you. You keep injured," he protests. "I can lose you. I just got you back." Tears are starting to well up in his eyes.

I smile weakly and stroke his cheek with my thumb. "You won't, I'll be fine. Now go save the world Minicanic."

He sniffles and says, "Ok, just don't die ok? You still owe me that water balloon fight."

"How could I forget?" I say weakly. "Now go."

And with that he nods, picks up Riptide and leaves. I watch him go fight Polybotes as I slowly die on the battlefield. But then I decide that if I'm going to die it might as well be at home.

I summon whatever strength I have left and slowly stand. Then I fire travel to the Tower, to the infirmary where it's more likely that someone might be there.

I stumble into the infirmary and make it to a bed where I manage to lie down. I start to lose consciousness and my vision starts to darken.

I hear FRIDAY say something and the team rushes in. The last thing I see before I pass out is Steve' worried face and he mouths, "Stay strong, son."
