Is it really you?

I've been in Japan for about a week, finally making my way home. I've hopped from hotel to hotel using the money I got from a few street jobs. Thank God or I would be scavenging the streets and probably smell like a wet dog. Maybe I do. I mean, I have been wearing the same clothes for a week.

I look at the large clock in the center of town to see that it's 3:33 pm. That means school just got out three minutes ago. If my memories are correct my brother and cousin are in a club called the host club in music room 3. At least from what I've heard.

Before we went on the mission, he told me that he was invited to be in the club the next year when the boy who invited him gets to high school. He told me he planned to accept it in order to be his true self. I'm happy that boy came and helped my little brother become what he's supposed to.

I squeeze my bunny, Kou, as I head towards the high school. The people I pass all look at me with worry, seeing as I'm walking by myself since I'm so small. I do look like a child, I mean who wouldn't look at me like that. I would too if I saw someone my size and carrying a bunny. It could be that or the fact that I have a small white Capuchin monkey on my shoulder.

"You okay, Ace?" I ask my little monkey.

"Oo oo!" he answers.

"Glad you're having fun."

"Are you lost, little girl?" a woman asks, stopping me.

She gasps when I turn to her, obviously frightened from my appearance. More precisely my face.

"No. I'm heading to Ouran Academy. That's where I go to school," I lie. "I may be short and cute, but I'm 17!"

"Oh, I'm sorry then," she says with uncertainty, looking at Ace and I. "Be careful."

"I'm a martial arts master. I can handle myself," I scoff and walk off.

What? Just because I would do the same thing to someone my size doesn't mean I don't get annoyed when people do it to me.

"Hey kid!" a deep creepy voice calls out.

I turn to look at the man and his eyes slightly widen but still doesn't put him off. Behind him are two other strong, muscular men. They look like street thugs. Great.

"What do you want?" I scoff.

"Just wanna know if you're alone."

"You're disgusting to human kind. Get the fuck away from me, creep," I spit.

"Why you little!?" he yells and tries to grab me.

Ace jumps from my shoulder to not get involved, mainly because he knows I like doing it without help. I obviously dodge the man and knee him in the face. "Bastard."

He stumbles backwards and clutches his nose. "Damn brat! What the hell are you just standing there for?! Grab her?!" the man yells to his two lackeys while holding his broken, bleeding nose.

The other two thugs come at me, and I swiftly dodge each attempt of them grabbing me.

"This has been fun, but I need to be somewhere, so could we hurry this up? I'm getting bored," I complain to make them even more pissed off and it worked. They growl and lunge at me all at once. I throw my bunny into the air then knock them out with one roundhouse kick to the face and laugh. "How pathetic." The crowd that was passing, look shocked with their mouths agape. "If you keep your mouths open like that you're going to catch flies."

They immediately shut them, and I catch my bunny when it comes back down without even looking. I wave my hand goodbye and walk to my destination. Ace races and climbs up me to my shoulder.

When I enter the school gates, I get some strange looks from the students who remain. I quickly cover my left eye with my hair.

"Is that Honey-senpai's bunny?"
"Yeah, why does she have it?"
"Who's that?"
"Is that a real monkey?"

I walk up to them and they immediately shut up. "Hey, do you know where music room 3 is? I have Mitsukuni's bunny, and I'd like to give it to him," I lie.

They tell me the directions, I thank them, and leave following their directions. This school is big; it's just as I remember. Climbing up the final step on the staircase, I make my way to the music room. Once I'm standing right in front of the door with my hand on the handle, the words of the Haninozuka rule flash through my mind. To make sure that you always stay alert you have to engage in battle whenever two family members come face to face. I smirk. This should be fun. I wonder if he'll recognize me? I place Kou beside the door, so he won't recognize me by my bunny, then I open the door.

Immediately, I'm confronted by someone or should I say someones. Twins. Highly attractive ones at that. Isn't that the best? Twin boys who are highly attractive? You not only get one, you get two! Okay, I'll stop...

"Are you lost?" they ask in sync. "Is that a monkey?"

"No, I'm looking for someone. Yes."

"Who?"

"Mitsukuni Haninozuka."

"Honey-senpai?" they question.

"Yeah?" my brother's voice calls out, and he comes bouncing over.

I make a kick towards him, and he barely dodges.

"Whoa!" the twins shout and all attention is drawn towards my brother and I.

"Somebody stop her!" a brown-haired... girl says?

I wait till my brother recovers and takes stance. Ace jumps down and hangs out on the back of a couch, earning odd looks from everybody. I smirk and rush at my brother going in for a punch, he dodges each punch then turns it back towards me. Obviously, I dodge just as fast, if not faster. We leap into the air and begin to throw punches and kicks at each other. Then we take it up a notch and go faster. We leap off the walls and pillars while continuously beating each other. I manage to get in a punch, and he flies back. I catch the oncoming shurikens he threw, that were supposed to pin me to the floor, before he crumbled on the ground. I throw them back and pin him on the ground, so he can't sit up.

That's when Takashi decides to join in and tries to catch me off guard by kicking me in the back, but I grab his leg and fling him across the room. I pin his jacket to the ground with the last shuriken I was holding on to till he decided to intervene. Everyone gasps.

"Who are you and what do you want?" the boy with glasses calmly asks. "If you don't comply, I will call my private police force of 100 men to engage in an attack to capture and arrest you for assault on school grounds."

I smirk and change the tone of my voice so my brother and cousin won't recognize it. "I just took down the two strongest people in Japan, do you really think I couldn't take on your police force?"

"We can find out."

I roll my eyes as I walk over to my brother and crouch down so he can see me from his position. Ace runs up to my shoulder.

"Where did you learn to fight?" he asks.

"The same place you did."

"I've never seen you before. Who hired you to attack me?" he asks.

I chuckle. "Nobody hired me. The tradition in the Haninozuka family is to engage in battle whenever two family members come face to face."

"Except you're not a Haninozuka," he growls.

"I'm hurt that you don't even recognize me!" I return my voice to normal.

He takes a good hard look at me then his face turns soft and his eyes water. "You... N-n-neesan? B-b-but..." he whispers with little whimpers. "N-no! You may look like her but you aren't! I watched her d-die right in front of me!" Honey shouts.

Gasps go around the room.

"Mitsukuni," Takashi says from across the room. "You don't have to do this."

"It's too late now, Takashi," Mitsukuni says. "Everyone heard me already." He turns to me. "You must be one of the people we fought that day when she died."

"But I didn't die," I say. "I'm looking right at you." I unpin him from the ground and he sits up. "I'm the only person that can pin you down."

"Prove it. Prove to me that you're her," Honey says.

"Fine," I huff. "Ace, go get my bunny." He leaves the room, grabs Kou, and returns to my shoulder, dropping Kou in my arms. "Look it's my bunny."

"You could've just gotten that from the rubble of the remaining battlefield," Honey claims.

"Then how do I prove it to you?" I ask, tears dripping down my face.

"What's the name of the bunny?"

"Kou. He and Usa-chan were made by our grandmother."

Tears begin running down his cheeks. "What's her least favorite fruit a-and vegetable? What was the last thing we talked about b-before the mission?"

"Honeydew and brussel sprouts. We talked about you joining this club and be who you truly are."

His mouth goes agape. "I-it... r-really is y-y-you..." he cries and tackles me in hug. "I-I can't b-believe this! Y-you're alive! Not a day went b-bye without m-me thinking of you!"

"I'm lost," the twins say.

"W-what's going on?" the tall blond asks.

"I missed you so much!" I cry.

Takashi comes over and pulls us into a hug. He's crying too. We must look ridiculous sitting on the floor like this, crying all over each other.

"Mori-senpai's even crying!" the girls around the room shout.

"Would anyone care to explain what's going on?" the brown haired host asks.

"I would, but I have no clue either," glasses says.

"Wow, even Kyoya-senpai doesn't know some things," the twins say.

After a while, we finish crying. Now realizing that all the girls have left the room.

"Wh-where did they all go?" I ask, rubbing the tears from my eyes.

"We sent them home until we figure out what this is," the tall blond says, gesturing to us.

"Are they finally finished?" the twins ask. "That took like 20 minutes."

"Well, I'm sorry that I haven't seen my little brother for 2 years because I was in a coma from being blown up by a bomb!" I shout.

Everyone gasps.

"You were in a coma?" brother asks.

"Otherwise, I would've come home earlier," I lie.

"Whoa, wait, did you just say little brother?" brown hair asks.

"You're older than him?" blondy asks.

"By 18 minutes!" I say.

"Then that means–"

"–you're twins–"

"–like us?!" the twins exclaim together.

"That's right!" brother and I say.

All their mouths are agape, even glasses.

"I'm Akisuko Haninozuka–"

"–and I'm Mitsukuni Haninozuka–"

"–and we're the Haninozuka twins!"

"That's our thing!" the twins complain.

"We were born first," I say and stick out my tongue.

"So, when did you get a monkey?" brother asks.

"This is my pet monkey, Ace. I met him in the forest where the mission took place after I woke up from my coma. I stayed a couple months to regain my strength before coming back to Japan," I sorta tell the truth.

"Why didn't you contact us?!" brother complains.

"I tried, but it seemed like you all changed your numbers. That, and I was in the middle of a giant forest where no society is. The hospital wasn't even a hospital per say. It was really just a small log cabin run by a few people, who helped me recover after finding me severely hurt in the middle of the forest," I sorta explain the truth. "They saved my life."

"Do you have scars?" the twins asked.

"Of course, do you think this is a birthmark?" I question, pointing to my face. "My eye even changed color." I move my hair out of my face.

"I didn't notice that," brother admits and cups my face, rubbing his thumb back and forth across it. "Is this it?"

"No." I sigh. "I have many more physical scars, but many mental too."

"So, tell us about what happened in the forest!" the twins squeal.

"That's a story for another day, and I don't like to talk about it," I say and groan. "Some things are better left unsaid."

"Yeah," Takashi says.

"Mom and dad will be so happy to see you!" Mitsukuni says happily. "They've been very depressed since you, well died."

"I guess we should go home then," I say.

"Is that okay, Tama-chan?" Honey asks.

"Reuniting with your family is more important than this club. Go reunite with your family," Tamaki says.

"Thank you, Tama-chan," Honey says and we leave to go home.

~~~
"Chika-chan, mother, father!" Honey yells.
Maids from previous years gasp as the new ones are confused.
"What do you want?!" Chika yells, coming in from the dojo. His eyes widen upon seeing me. "Akisuko?!" He runs and tackles me in a hug. "Aki... I missed you..." He sniffles between each word. I give him a kiss on the cheek.
"I missed you too, otouto," I reply.
"Did you just say Akisuko?" father asks, walking in. He gasps and tears begin streaming down his face. "Akisuko... Y-you're alive..."
Mother comes in next and goes through the same process as father. "Oh my sweet little Akisuko... You're a-alive my precious baby!"
My parents engulf me a hug, squishing Chika in the process. Tears stream down all our faces as they smother me with kisses. After a couple minutes they release me.
"We must have a family get together to celebrate your return," father says. He rushes off into the dojo. "My daughter is back from the dead! She didn't die!"
Mother chuckles and looks at me. "Oh my... Your face is terribly different. Is this the result of the bomb that we thought killed you?"
"Yes, I was found by some people who saved my life," I say.
"And who's this little guy?" mother asks, looking at the monkey on my shoulder.
"This is my pet monkey, Ace."
Ace salutes with a monkey sound.
"Aww, isn't he precious!" mother says, petting his head. "He looks well trained."
"He definitely is. I taught him martial arts too."
"Really well trained then." She gives me one last hug. "I've missed you so much." She releases me and leaves to do whatever she was doing before, wiping away tears along the way.
"Aki-san," Chika says. "You're different."
"Well, two years in the middle of nowhere would probably change a person," I chuckle. "My physical appearance is quite different too."
"Your eyes are different colors now."
"I think it's kinda cool, don't you?"
"It's a pretty color," Chika says.
I grab my brothers and hug them again. "I missed my little brothers so much."
"We missed you too," they say.
"We have to make up wasted time. What has been happening the past years?"
"Well, your death hit us hard," Honey says. "You know how hard it was burying a casket without a corpse?"
Chika begins to sob. "I-I blamed Mitsukuni on your d-death, so we aren't on f-friendly terms."
"Chika! You should know better than to blame others for someone else's fault! I'm disappointed in you," I scold.
"No, it's okay, nee-san, I blamed myself for not being able to rescue you in time," Honey says.
"Stop. Nobody should blame anybody on my death. It's my fault I didn't move quick enough. Everything's okay now because I'm back, and I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon," I say.
