Chapter 5
The next Monday October 16;
It was about a week later;
Dean's dream with Blare slowly became a regular thing. He started to enjoy them more and wish for them longer. His only release was in the shower or with his current girl friend Dalyla. He wasn't totally into her and was just dating to date at this point. He had already decided to break up with her this morning. Currently; he was waiting for her at his locker.
"Dalyla, hey~" Dean greeted.
"Ah, save it." Dalyla raised her hand. Dean fell silent. "Dean, I am breaking up with you." She informed. That was easier than expected... Dean thought with surprise. "I'm dating Neal now." Dalyla informed. She was dating the goalie now, when she had been dating the Captain.
"'Kay..." Dean awkwardly agreed. Dalyla dramatically held up a hand and sniffled.
"Don't cry for me, it's just how this must be." She informed and walked away.
"Alright, that went smoother than expected." Dean decided with a nod. "Now, if only I could get Minnie to date me, then that's every girl in school but Blare..." He mumbled contemplatingly. He had dated Ann in seventh grade. She was one of the girls who kicked off Dean's girl hop.
"What about Blare?" Ann asked slyly. She had found out they were working together and used it to tease them both all week of course, Blare reacted more than Dean did. She always screamed and yelled while Dean smirked about it.
"Ah!" Dean jumped. He elbowed the locker and kneed it. He grumbled and faced her. "What?" He huffed annoyedly.
"You were talking about Blare!" Ann teased.
"No, no I wasn't!" Dean swatted her away. He huffed and crossed his arms. "Have you seen Zeek? He wasn't on the bus."
"Neither was Blare~" Ann giggled. Dean rolled his eyes. "They both got up literally ten minutes ago because their dad left early. Zeek had to wake up Blare. They're literally running now." Ann explained. Dean laughed.
"Man, they're both so lame!" Dean laughed loudly.
"I-" Zeek panted from behind him. "Heard that!" He panted. Blare was laying on the floor panting. People were walking around them casually.
"This is so your fault." Blare gasped as she tried to breath.
"It is not!" Zeek yelled at her. "If you got up at a regular time it wouldn't be a problem!" He yelled.
"Me?!" Blare jumped up and pointed. "This is because of you!" She screamed. Ann and Dean exchanged a sigh and a look. "If you had told me Dad had work early I wouldn't have gotten up so late!" Blare yelled angirly. Zeek and Blare were in one another's face yelling. Brass pushed their faces apart.
"Why am I always the adult?" He sighed, holding back the yelling twins.
"Alright you five, get to class." A near by teacher chuckled amusedly.
"Yes ma'am." The kids called in unison. Zeek and Blare glared at one another as they walked off in two directions. Dean followed Zeek. Ann and Brass walked off in their own direction.
Blare inhaled heavily at the end of the period. She leaned on the wall carelessly. Christ... She complained. So tired... Her gaze trailed between the hallways. There was no one around, kids were carelessly strewn about in classrooms. Blare watched the black hardwood floor patterned with gray blocks. The walls were painted a light gray, the lockers a deep black that shined. The lights were barely shown around, they hung above everything, watching the world below. The security camera discreetly hidden within the ceiling, lights, and walls. The windows had black outlining. They waited to be pushed out impatiently. They were covered by marks, posters, and bugs.
Soft footsteps echoed from far away. Blare's eyes closed to the sound of them. They were a familiar pattern of soft steps that turned more harsh. The breathing was patterned harsh, not the way it normally flowed. They breaths were rigid as if they were pained. "That stupid Neal." Dean's frustrated voice softly mustered. "Made me bleed..." He sighed heavily. Blare listened, holding her breath. The footsteps drew closer and stopped. "Why are you standing out here all alone?" Dean asked, his voice was more soft but still laced with frustration. Somewhere in the mixture was slyness. Blare slowly looked up. Dean was smirking down at her, his lip was bleeding, though, dripping onto his lose gray shirt. His slightly tanned skin was glistening with sweat and being stained with the crimson of his blood. Blare had a hesitant feeling. "Cat got your tongue?" Dean snickered amusedly. Blare stood.
"What happened to your face?" Blare asked in an amused tone.
"Huh? This?" Dean motioned casually. "Neal clocked me." He shrugged. "I bit my cheek." He lied. The truth was, Neal punched him so hard he made his lip bleed and his cheek swell. He knocked Dean onto the floor too.
"Right..." Blare crossed her arms. She smirked amusedly. Dean watched her cautious movements. She slowly swayed back and forth. Her hair, well, her bangs moved as she moved her head. Her puffed bangs bounced carelessly as her bangs tangled. Her bangs always did that, tangled on their own. They were fun to play with, especially when Blare went with it and lazily rested her head. She used to do that with Dean, but not anymore. All she did now was yell and fight with him. She wasn't as fun to mess with now.
Blare's bangs were so short, a strange shade of a blondeish brown. The rest of her hair was fading back to her brown hair with red streaks that were too hard to see. Her hair was covered, though, by the same black beanie as always. Her tanned fading pale skin was stained with dried water, her soft faded blue eyes were puffed with red.
"You've been crying?" Dean pointed out.
"I-I have not!" Blared yelled defensively. Dean smirked, his black eyes glistening with slyness. His black hair lazily swung, his spiked bangs moved with his head. His tanned skin faded to the red of his bloody lips. "You're still bleeding." Blare pointed out. Dean wiped at his lips.
"It's nothing." The blood stained the back of his right-large hand. He looked over it an sent Blare a sly smile. "See? All-" The blood started pouring again. He sighed annoyedly. "...Better." He wiped his face again.
"You know, putting pressure on it would help?" Blare pointed out. Dean shrugged. Blare's eyes rolled. "You're always so careless." She complained, pressing the bottom of her hand to the injured part of his face. Her left had held the back of his head. Dean smirked.
"And you're always like this." He pointed out. He shifted Blare closer. Blare's eyes widened with panic. She pushed him away and crossed her arms. She glared away. "So shy~" Dean hummed amusedly.
"Go to the health room you jerk." Blare hissed. She faced away. She stormed towards the bathroom.
"Aww, come on, Blare. Weren't we like- bonding or something?" Dean called with laughter. He followed quickly. He cheeks puffed when the door was closed in his face. "Fine, be that way." He huffed. He stormed off.
Blare washed her hands quickly after making sure Dean was gone. God, why did I help him? He's such a jerk! She sighed frustratedly and washed her hands over and over until the blood was washed off. She dried her hands quickly and threw the paper towel into the trash roughly. "God!" She yelled. She sighed heavily and leaned on the wall. She curled and hid her face again. Why does he always show up? I just want him to go away...
"It's really nothing." Dean laughed to the nurse.
"Dean..." The nurse sighed. She was carefully cleaning off his face. "Stop moving." She ordered. Dean stood still. She cleaned off his face. Dean washed off his hands. "Your shirt is a mess..." The nurse complained softly.
"It's washable." Dean shrugged. "Look, it's really nothing. I had it coming." Dean shrugged casually. "Thank you, again." He casually waved. The nurse sighed.
"Alright, Dean... Please stop getting into so many fights..." She begged.
"You know me, always being careless." Dean casually waved. He grinned sweetly. "I'll try and stop getting in so many fights, thank you~" he hummed and walked out. He softly sighed as he walked towards his classroom. Towards Blare's classroom... He slowly trailed his gaze to the window. Blare was seated, leaning on her hand in the seat right by the window facing the school. Her gaze trailed, she made eye contact with Dean. He smirked and waved. Blare looked away quickly. Dean watched a few kids giggle. He walked off, smirking.
