Chapter 51
The warlock slowly rose his head and glanced around the room, remembering where he was. Then the empress. He quickly rang for Sage. He hoped the empress was better or at least not worse. Fifteen minutes later the hob-goblin shuffled in with a pot of the brew/
"How is she?" Daniel asked him.
"The empress seems the same, nothing has gotten worse." Sage reported.
"Good, that may buy us some time." He responded, pouring a cup.
"A little, yes."
Daniel took a sip of the hot delicious brew. He loved the stuff. He nodded to the hob-goblin.
"Have you figured out how to cure he empress yet, sir?" Sage asked him.
"No I haven't and I don't know who to ask for help." Daniel admitted to him, taking another sip.
"What is it she has?" He asked the warlock.
"A hybrid genetic infection." Daniel explained to him.
After a few minutes his big eyes lit up on his chubby little face.
"I got it." He exclaimed.
"What? I'll try about anything."
"I think i know who you need." He said.
"It's a hybrid sickness. Isn't mister Salem half warlock?"
"Sage you'd make a great sorcerer as brilliant as you seem to be." Daniel told him with pride.
"Was it a good idea sir?"
"Yes. I don't know how soon I'd have thought of that. You saved us a lot of time that we cannot waste. " He paused for a minute taking a sip of the brew, then added; "I'll send him a message right away, thanks man."
The hob-goblin nodded and shuffled back out of the room.
Daniel sipped at the brew for a long moment, then sent for Ludwig. This at least gave him a ray of hope and he needed it right now. Maybe Salem would know more about this than he did. Even if he didn't maybe he'd know where to go from this point on. He didn't care who had the answer, he needed to find it. He refused to just sit back and watch her die, too. He couldn't physically handle another death. Ralvania meant too much to every creature near and far.
Just then there was a tap on the window, he turned quickly to see Ludwig waiting for him. He jumped up and dashed to the window with intense speed. Opening the window he nodded to the gargoyle.
"Thanks for getting here, it's important." He greeted the creature.
"Will it help my empress?"
"Yes. Sage thinks we should call another hybrid."
"Good thinking. What hybrid shall I fetch for you?"
"Salem." He replied.
"Right away sir. I'm glad you're here," He said then flew off to do his part to save her.
