chapter 9

Ralvania turned, hearing the sound of someone coming. She could sense anger stewing from within their soul, as that someone got closer. Thirty seconds later standing there glaring at her was a witch, Veronica. She'd seen her this morning in the circle when the gargoyle had asked. Ludwig, that was his name.

"Veronica?" The empress questioned.

"Do I know you?" She spat back with a look of death.

"No. I'm Ralvania and this big guy here is Soranto."  She told the witch.

"I don't care. I'd like to know why you're on my land." She spoke through gritted teeth.

"We're only passing through, honest." The empress explained to her.

"How did you know my name?" She asked flatly.

"The gargoyle asked that I see that you are well." She answered her.

"Ludwig?" She asked with wide eyes.

"Yes. He had to go back to his dimension but had to risk it to see that you were safe." She answered the witch.

"Thank you. I miss him." Veronica replied.

"We'll be off of your land quickly." Soranto blurted out.

"I didn't mean to be that rude but there are spies all over these parts." Veronica explained as her dark rage softened quickly.

"It's not a problem. We really are just passing through here. Actually we should get moving again." Ralvania explained .

"Thank you." Veronica told her before heading back to her castle.

"Get on. Let's get out of here." Soranto told her.

She nodded, agreeing with him and climbed onto his back and waited for take off.

Twenty seconds later he bolted into the awaiting skies  wanting to get out of Galderia as fast as possible.  He wanted to get away from the strange witch and her land. He wanted to get back to where they were heading.

"You still ok?" The empress asked.

"I'm fine." He called back to her.

"Whenever you need to rest again, do it." She told him.

"Yes mother." He told her sarcastically.

"I'm serious. I don't want you passing out from over doing it."

"I'm okay, really." He explained.

After a long pause she spoke up once more.

"Are we getting close?" She asked him.

"Pretty close to it yes." He replied.

"Oh good to hear." She replied and looked to the miles of forest below them. It gave her a true sense of tranquility.
