Chapter Seven

Ravenessa finished up the castle tour, leading all of them into the library. Five minutes later Stergis joined them, bringing two pots of elven brew and several mugs on a large black tray.

"Thank you all for your help." Vamier told them.

"Make sure you sip this, it's potent. If you chug it, you'll vomit everywhere." Stergis warned them.

The little gremlin snickered at the thought.

Ravenessa went over, grabbing several books, then put the stack on the table. Then she gave them all a serious look.

"Everyone grab a book, see if you can find any mention of this silver mushroom curse."

They all nodded and agreed with her. They paired off into research teams, hoping to find what they needed a little faster. The logic seemed to have worked, as slowly they found bits and pieces about it. Richard found a mention of it in a book of dark curses. Then a half hour later the gremlin found mention of it in a dark history book. Over the next few hours they were able to learn more about it. It was a dark but enchanted plant that set off a toxin causing a death like illness. It can only affect those born of magickal essence. Over time it would drain all of it's victim's magick. They all let that thought sink in.

"Now that we know what we're up against, let's see if we can find a reversal spell or some way to kill it." Ravenessa said.

"I hope you can pull this off." The gremlin stated.

"We can and we will." The Empress said.

All of them got back to work, an hour and a half passed by when she found the spell to end the curse of the silver mushroom. The Empress looked it over twice before alerting the rest of them. Letting out a deep sigh, glad to have found it, finally.

"I have found a potion to kill it, but the ingredients are a little strange."

"Like what?" Daniel asked.

"Kreskin oil, dragon root and two ounces of willow sap."

"Between all of us, I'm sure we could find those." Zeta chimed in.

"Thank you."

Ravenessa went off to her own herb and potion closet, a few rooms away. Soon finding the items they needed for the potion, she quickly put them into a pouch and let the potions room, going right back to the library. Swiftly walking over to Ralvania she smiled.

"Here's everything you need for the potion."

"Thank you for all of your help. I'm going to take Vamier and get this quest started. I'll send word if I can't handle it."

Hugging Jim and Stergis as well as the others, said goodbye, taking the little gremlin with her. As they walked onward, the gremlin tapped her hand gently.

"Yes?'

"Why are we going into the village?"

"We're not. We're going to the other side of it into the forest to get my dragon."

"Oh, that makes more sense."

"Anymore questions?"

"No."

The walked quickly through the square and onto the other side of the village; into the forest. She wanted to get the quest moving along. She wanted to help the gremlin save his home, but she'd had a great time with her newest friends. Once they had gotten to Soranto, he gave her a dirty look.

"Who's this? He asked.

"Vamier... His home is being threatened by a curse."

"I suppose were going to help?"

"Of course."

"Only you would go out for a beer and come back with a quest." The dragon teased her.

"It's not a simple quest, people are dying out there."

"Yes, always.. Where are we going?"

"How did you get that far?"

"On foot."

"Aren't you tired?"

"Yes but it's a matter of life and death, I had no choice."

"Climb on both of you."

The gremlin climbed up first, then the Empress.
