Chapter 40
Vamier and Ralvania sat there starting on the second pot when he asked if she wanted more from it.
"Oh, yes please." She replied, setting her cup forward.
"Will you be staying with us long?" He asked, filling her cup as well as his own.
"No, I'll have to get Soranto soon. I'd love to stay and visit but there are others who need me." She politely explained, taking a sip of the warm brew in front of her.
"I understand other responsibilities, but I wish you could stay. I'm having a great time just having coffee with you." He told her.
"I am too. I'll have one more cup with you before I have to get the dragon."
"That would be nice." The gremlin prince replied. Then he rang for a servant who showed quickly. After the prince spoke to him, the servant hurried through the hall to run the errand.
The empress and prince engaged themselves in conversation over coffee when the servant returned with a large bag and handed it to her. It was full of baked goods, fruit and even a bag of coffee for her.
"Wow that's so sweet of you." The empress exclaimed.
"I thought you and Soranto could use something on the way back home. Just a thank you for saving us all." Vamier told her.
"It will really help. If you're ever near Goblins Hollow, look us up okay?" She told him.
"Absolutely." He responded.
After slowly finishing the contents of the green mug , she hugged Vamier goodbye and wished him good luck before swiftly heading out the door and through the city. When she reached the forest she sped up a bit not stopping until meeting up with her dragon.
"Good you're up." She greeted him.
"Yes is everything okay with the gremlin?" He asked.
"Yes I helped take care of the illness and the wretched curse."
"Oh good I like that little fellow." Soranto told her.
"Well that little fellow is their crown prince." She told him, knowing the dragons love of gossip.
"Ooh you're kidding!" He exclaimed. "What kind of an adventure did you have?" He added, eyes wide, his ears perked up.
"I'll tell you everything on the way. Let's go home." She told the dragon.
"Climb on." He told her and flew them through the air on the long journey back to Goblin's Hollow.
