Chapter 3
Once she'd made it back to the comforts of home, the empress let out a sigh of relief. Glad to have rescued the poor banshee, but concerned there may be something to watch out for in her home land. Dismissing it as paranoia, the empress shrugged it off. She'd dealt with plenty of dark creatures in other lands close to her own.
It had been a few months since there had been any real dangers. She walked into the castle through the back entrance, nodding to some of her kitchen staff as she passed by them. Then Gina came from around the corner.
"Is everything okay miss?" She asked the lady of the house.
"Yes, someone was in trouble in the forest but I took care of it." She told the long time servant girl.
"Oh good to hear. Do you require anything miss?" Gina asked.
"Just another pot of pixie brew before I'm needed again." She replied.
"Where shall I bring it?" Gina asked her.
"Oh I'll grab it but thank you." She replied.
Gina nodded to the empress and went back to dusting the castle, again.
The empress grabbed her pot of brew and a mug before nodding to the staff and made a straight shot for the library. Opening the door with a grin across her delicate face. She loved it in here. Warm and inviting but not too cozy. Quickly settling in with her pixie brew and candles, the empress grabbed her current spell book.
The empress took a moment to just breathe before sipping on the hot liquid. After the first cup she flipped open the spell book slowly. Then began to write out the experience with the banshee, including her spell to release Jaymeme from that horrific spirit trap.
There had been a lot of interesting memories over the years but saving a banshee from a near death trap before late morning was high upon the list. Losing herself in the memories and downing a third cup she nearly leaped to the ceiling when there was a knock on her door ten minutes later.
