After a half hour Sage got up getting pen and paper,writing out a note to the hybrid and the vampire. Then he quickly gave it to Ludwig.

"I'll fly quickly. Stay in the castle until I return." Ludwig instructed.

He nodded then hugged the gargoyle and went directly into the castle. Without the empress here the castle was vulnerable. He would guard this place with his life. But he hoped it wouldn't come to that.

He paced the castle, worrying and fearing more for the empress than the castle. He adored the empress. He began to scurry around the castle, arranging trinkets abd dusting, doing windows. Anything to keep his spirits up and his thoughts off of the poor empress. He hoped wherever she was right now she was at least safe.  He kept on dusting and polishing the castle until Ludwig returned an hour later.
