Chapter 6
After an hour of deep conversation and the rest of the pot of brew Daniel looked over to her for a moment.
"Would you like to head out to see her?"
"Yes, I hope she'll feel better, or that I'll figure out what will help." She said as they left the castle.
When they stepped out of the castle it seemed the sunlight had brightened the day for them. The forest seemed to glow as beams of light shone through the branches of all the trees; glistening with life. The two of them walked quickly down the path.
"The castle isn't far, I found a short-cut a few years ago." He informed her.
"Oh good, she replied to him.
"How's Trinity been lately?' He asked, to pass the time.
"Not bad. She visits often. A few times she's gone with me to visit the fairy queen."
"Oh good I'm glad she's adjusting well." He responded.
"Yes everyone's doing well. So far so good." She told him as they walked further into the forest.
Looking around the forest with a soft grin. It was similar to her own homeland with small differences. The rocks were a different size and shape, with a darker shade of cobblestone and graphite. Some of the glittering blue ferns were larger but scattered in a pattern much like the forests of goblin's hollow.
She looked to the left, seeing a small dwarf collecting berries and firewood. Then a little further down the path there were elf children playing hunt and find with their friends. She remembered playing it when she was a small girl, many years ago. She felt at peace seeing so much life radiating through the forest.
"Another quarter mile and we'll be there," He announced.
"Excellent. Do you think Stergis will be there, too?"
"I'd think so." He responded.
She simply nodded as they walked the curved end of the path that led to the castle gate.
