Chapter 50
The empress refused to open her eyes until her body had stopped moving. It had only been a few minutes when she did stop moving, landing flat on her butt. Slowly she opened on eye, then the other. Standing up, she looked around.
For the first time in her life the empress didn't know where she had ended up. It reminded her of her own world, but more dull. The colors weren't as bright and didn't sparkle, no glowing plants or fairies. Not a dragon in sight. It wasn't her own realm by far. It didn't look like the fairie realm, the sun shine was far too bright to be the underworld.
Was it a sub-division of the spirit realm? It's possible. She didn't see anything but sand and short trees with spikes on them. Maybe they were pickle trees? She had no idea but the spikes looked really sharp. They looked like dull green tree stumps put together.
She needed to find one of the locals and ask where she ended up this time.
Thank the gods I grabbed the magick bag, she thought. Unsure where any of the people might be, she headed west. It was beyond miserably hot, she wondered if this could be a compartment of the underworld? Even though she hadn't sensed darkness.
Come to think of it, she hadn't sensed anything since she was dumped here, wherever here might be.
