Chapter 32
After a long talk and three cups of pixie-brew, Amberosia hugged her goodbye; needing to get back to Magellan and the dragon, Phoebe.
Once her guest had exited the castle, the empress opened up her spell-book and wrote the new development down in a special section. Then she wondered if this would be the most fascinating development of the day. Things had become rather mundane and ordinary over the past few moons, but she feared to really complain about it. Fifteen minutes later Sage opened the door with a little too much force and his short little body nearly fell into the door.
"So sorry miss, but there's a client that needs you." He informed her with a sad look on his chubby little blue-green face.
"Oh, okay. Please bring them in." She said with empathy.
"She's important to me miss." He told her flatly.
"Did you get a girlfriend?' She asked winking at him.
"No she's my little cousin Rosemary." He said with a stern look.
"Oh do you know of her trouble?' She asked him.
"Somewhat.. nasty cold and cough, with vomiting and she's beyond pale."
"Bring her to me, I'll see if I can help." She offered.
"Oh and whatever you do, don't call her by her full name, she goes by Rose.' Sage warned her.
"Got it. Thanks for the tip." She said as he bowed to her and went to get his cousin.
A much shorter teenaged version of her servant walked into her office. She saw the same soft smile and the same big floppy ears, just like sage. Just like him she had big round eyes, the color of sand-stone.
"Come in dear, have a seat. Tell me what's troubling you.' She soothed the poor critter.
"Okay," She managed to cough out.
After a few minutes of wheezing and coughing, she looked at the empress with severe discomfort in her big beige eyes. "It's some kind of a virus, like a flu or cancer but with chest pains." She then began to cough again.
The empress nodded and turned around to the shelf and looked until she found one of the few books she had on hob-goblin history. Going through it quickly, she then turned to rose for a moment.
"I'm going to figure out what you have, then i'll be able to treat you." She explained.
The young hob-goblin simply nodded to her.
