Chapter 96
As the time ticked by, desperatley trying to stay confident but it was already past mid-afternoon. There were still a few hours before the vampire would be here, however the time to go inched closer as she began worry a little more.
Pacing back and forth around the office with her coffee mug, in a panic, thoughts swarmed her mind. This was her first rescue attempt-ever. What if she screwed this up? What if she made it worse? What if she got herself imprisoned in the dark realm.
She stopped, the pacing had made her dizzy, she filled the mug again. Focusing for a moment to breathe ad calm down. She had a guide, her wits and magic. So long as she didn't do anything notoriously stupid, things should be fine.
As long as the empress got home safe, it was worth anything she'd have to endure along the way. There was no choice she had to do this no matter how much it frightened her. Sipping at the brew she tried to focus on what needed to be done, not her fears of it. Going through her spellbook one more time, then tossed it into the magical bag. Unsure if she needed it or not, thought best to bring it anyway.
Having no idea what would happen on this adventure made her jumpy but excited. This would be the most interesting thing she'd ever done. Day dreaming and watching through the window as the sun began to get lower in the skies. She didn't know how the quest would go, but knew she'd find out soon enough.
