Chapter 56
Two and a half hours later the empress had paced every inch of the castle as well as the ajoined courtyard. Amberosia's paranoid fear had gotten to her. She paced back and forth in her office before pouring a cup of steaming pixie brew. Sitting in her beloved chair she waited for it to cool.
Taking that long awaited first sip, she let out a sigh of relief.
"Ahh, that's better." She spoke to the empty walls around her. She took another long gulp when there was a knock on her office door. Gulping down another sip quickly before answering.
"Enter!" She barked at the door sounding more like a hell-hound than the empress of sorcery.
Amberosia opened the door at the speed of a constipated snail, half afraid to enter the room.
"What is it?" She snapped, worrying over the dragon had affected her temperment.
Ambrosia took a deep breath, looking up to her mentor.
"The dragon has returned. He's waiting for you in the front of the castle."
"Oh good, that's a relief." The empress told her. Standing up she looked at Amberosia a minute.
"I'm sorry if I snapped at you." The empress told her.
"It's fine miss. You deal with a lot more than most." She answered.
The empress gave her a soft smile, then poured the remaining pot of coffee into a sliver and black thermos. Telling Amberosia goodbye, she grabbed her magic bag and then headed out the door.
Sprinting out of the castle, the empress quickly made it to Soranto, short of breath.
"Good to see you empress."
"Where in the known realms were you?" She demanded.
:Hey, I'm not fifteen anymore, you know." He scolded her.
"We were worried for you, that's all."
"I was with Kadrid. We had to talk." He informed her.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"I don't know if I should tell you." He tortured her.
"Come on, what is it?" She begged him.
He said nothing for the next seven minutes as she stared at him without blinking.
"Kadrid is pregnant with my egg." He told her.
