Chapter 43
Over an hour had passed and the empress had leaned over about every ten to fifteen minutes to see how close they were.
"You keep that up and you'll slide right off, falling to your death." The dragon warned.
"How morbid of you."
"Anytime."
The empress just shook her head.
"Are we close?" She asked.
"Twenty minutes, maybe a little more." He hollered back to her.
"Oh." She said, then tried to think of how to occupy her thoughts for the next twenty plus minutes. Attempting meditation but her body refused to be still. She couldn't wait to get there. Opening her bag, found one of her books and read a few chapters until feeling the dragon's altitude drop dramatically. Looking up just in time to see him land. It was an exquisite, perfect landing, just in front of a beautifully decorated porcelain white fairy castle. There were pastel pink, lavender and white ribbons hung from the windows.
There were pink and lavender balloons tied to some of the trees around the castle. Then she saw something weird.
The pink glitter roses kept turning black with neon lights in the center of the flower. She climbed down off of the dragon bowing to him.
"Go have fun, uh.. birthday partying." He told her.
The empress giggled.
"Silly dragon."
"Tell the Queen I said hello." He told her.
"Always do." She told him walking up to the castle doors.
