Chapter 27

Quickly reaching the glass double doors that led to the court-yard, she stared at something standing there. It looked like an over-sized gargoyle person with fangs too large for it's greying mouth.

It's eyes seemed so dim they appeared soul-less. She hadn't a clue as to what was going on but knew this was no creature born of the light.

"Amberosia are you safe?"  She called out, making sure the apprentice hadn't been devoured by this creature.

"Yes, he's a client." She responded.

"What is he?" She asked.

"I'm a halfling-demon." He answered for her.

"A what?!"

"It's okay, special circumstances." Amberosia spat out.

"I'm Verisetti, miss." The halfling told her.

She opened the door slowly and stepped out to join them. Keeping her paranoya to herself, she looked to her magical helper.

"What are these circumstances?"

"He doesn't want to be evil anymore."  She explained slowly.

The empress glared at him, reading his intentions. The vision had been foggy but she could see he didn't intend to hurt them.

"So why is he here now?"

"I'd like help learning to be...good. Not cruel and vindictive." He confessed to them.

Taking ahold of his dark grey, scaley hand she looked him in the eyes.

"It won't be easy, fighting against your own nature." She told him.

"I figured that much, I really don't want to be evil." He admitted to her as a few neon green tears leaked from his eyes.

"We'll help you."  Ralvania told him.

"Thank you...both." He whispered.

"No problem. Now I want you to go out and help others. Tell them I sent you, and ask for nothing in return of your good deeds. " She instructed him.

"What'd you say?" He wasn't sure he'd heard right.

"I'm serious. come check in once a week. Let us know how it goes." She told him.

He let out a sigh that sounded like a snoring troll elf.

"I will try." He replied. Then left through the castle grounds and onto the forest.

"That was weird, we don't get dark beings often." The empress stated.

"Remember the pregnant demon?" She asked her mentor.

"Yeah why?"

"That was one of her cousins."  Amberosia told her.

"She sent him?"

"I think so."  Amberosia replied.

After seven minutes of silence the empress looked to her helper.

"Amberosia?"

"Yes?" She replied, awaiting instruction.

"Get us some coffee would you?" She asked.

"Always." She replied, flashing a smile then skipped off to make the pixie brew.
