Chapter 100
Walking another seventy miles Amberosia tried not to let her exhaustion slow hem down, but he could see the weary look on hr face.
"Do you need to stop again?" He asked with genuine concern for the young witch.
"Not yet, I'd like to get a few more miles in before we stop to rest."
"That would be fie with me, rest whenever you need." The vampire replied.
"Good, I'd like to get there and save her. She's not just my boss and friend." She confessed to him.
"Oh, really?" He said.
"Ralvania is the only family I ever knew...The closest thing to a mother I ever had." She poured her soul out to him.
"I can understand why you've been so anxious."
She nodded, then looked into his eyes for a second.
"Yes there's a lot to lose if I fail." She told him as they walked around a few huge rocks and boulders that she almost didn't see in the dark trail.
Magellan with the speed of light grabbed her by the waist and moved her out of the way.
"There you go, I didn't want you to fall." He said quickly and gently set her back on the ground as if she were a baby duckling or a two month old elf.
"Thank you." She said, feeling a strange closeness to him.
"Don't mention it my dear." He responded.
The two of them walked another twenty miles before she needed to take a break. Magellan had been more than understanding. He knew grown men that couldn't walk that far without stopping. He could see how strong willed and determined she was- he couldn't help but admire that about her.
