The empress smiled, flying on the back of the dragon on their journey home. They flew along-side Kadrid until they made it to Salem's huge fortress.  The sky was gorgeous, barely any other creatures were flying through the air. 

  As the sky darkened, Soranto flew onward, seeing the occasional bat or gargoyle.  He did see a dragon far off in the distance but chose to ignore it. He was glad the journey went well and they were finally heading back home. The quest wasn't that difficult but it was nice to be going home again. 

He flew a little faster letting the empress sleep. All that obsessive worrying must have worn her out, he thought.  Flying on through the night faster than ever before. He knew if she were awake he would have had to stop at least twice now. He knew it was getting late or early depending how you look at it. 

The birds began chirping far off in the forest below them. It had to be at least five a.m, good it meant they may be home before mid morning. 

               The empress batted her eyes awake as they passed by several cloud banks. After a few minutes of conscious thought, she remembered they were on the way home. She sat up and looked at the ground below them. She could tell by the landscape that they were mere hours from the castle. 

  "Did you fly all night?" 

"Good morning did you sleep well?" He asked.

"Don't change the subject." She told him in a firm tone.

"Fine. Yes I flew all night. We'll be home in a couple of hours." He told her.
