Chapter 39
For the next couple of hours both dragons napped below a hill near where they had landed. The empress, hybrid warlock and sorceress walked just a few feet away and sat down near a large glittering silver palm tree, swaying in the gentle breeze across the land.
As the dragons snored , the empress shared her thermos and bag off baked goods and fruit with them. The three of them had a nice out-door brunch under the glittery tree. The view of the turquise blue mountains across the lavender hue of the never ending skies had been almost unreal.
After talking over coffee with Salem, she had felt a little better. He let her know the dark realm isn't half as bad as it seems. It's not a good place, but with assistance, they would be fine. His words were a comfort. It helped more than she had thought.
"Thank you."
"It's fine." He replied.
Soranto began to rise and nudged Kadrid gently.
She batted her eyelashes gently, rising from her sleeping position.
"Come on, let's get the others." He told her.
"Sure." She replied following him.
"Get on." Soranto instructed them.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be as rude as a half wit troll." He told them.
The empress climbed up her dragon and the other two onto Kadrid's back. The dragons turned, opened thier wings and flew up into the clear skies once again.
