You saw a human, the last human. They looked confused. They looked for help. But nobody came. Except for you. You told them you will help them get out of here alive. It's kill or be killed. Nobody is safe when they come down here and that is what happened to you. You fell and you died. At least you got them scared now. You got them to trust you.

"C'mon, I can help you, you can help me, just let me take control,"

And they let you. You felt alive. You felt power. You felt abandoned. And you felt rage. Of course you were logically powerless. You had to wait until Frisk gained enough L.O.V.E, of course. Frisk just needs persuasion. As they slashed monster after monster, you grew stronger and stronger. Eventually they found that they couldn't stop killing if they wanted to. Because you took control. They screamed inside your mind once they figured everything out. You didn't listen as they cried and begged. It was their fault after all. These monsters had it coming. Frisk had it coming. Mother had it coming. Mother. T O R I E L

Chara jolted in her bed as she cried. The things Frisk said and pleaded. The way she begged echoed in her mind and guilt burned in Chara's heart as she heard Sans and Frisk come into her room and ran quietly over to her and rubbed her back and even hugged Chara if she allowed it.

Chara had said some things but they barely understood a word, she was crying too much. Frisk did notice that Chara was crying back liquid and blood. Not tears. Even if she didn't know what that stuff was, she wiped it from Chara's face and Chara tucked herself into a ball as Frisk hugged her. Chara never had liked hugs but right now she needed it. Sans closed the door for privacy as he did what he could to help Chara. They stayed like that for what Chara thought was hours, even after she had calmed down. "Okay, you two, you can go back, I don't need anymore hugs or pats or whatever else," Chara said and Frisk shook her head as Sans smiled at Chara's tone of voice. "And what are you smiling at?" She asked and Sans laughed

"There she is, there's the Chara I know and love," Sans said as Chara scoffed and Frisk let out a little laugh.

"Whatever," Chara said as she attempted to kick him as he was at the foot of the bed but he dodged it and instead went beside Frisk and plopped himself on Chara's legs as he pretended to sleep. "Hey, fat bones! Hands off the merchandise!" Chara said and Sans hummed in thought

"I don't think I have my hands on Frisk at the moment," Sans said as Frisk blushed and laughed at him and Chara even let out a little laugh that she'd later like to pretend never happened. After all the joking and comforting, Sans and Frisk left. Chara liked to think she wasn't a little disappointed when they did.

As Chara woke up she heard Asriel's voice call her name, gently like he did when he usually woke her up. For a moment, she thought she was back in time. When she opened her eyes she didn't see his sparkling green eyes or his soft, sweet smile. Instead she was in her room alone. She felt her chest tighten and she clutched it to alleviate the bit of pain but was confused when it didn't help. She didn't think this was a heart attack, would've hurt more, plus she doesn't have any heart problems she's aware of. She sighed and got out of bed, not wanting to change but when she saw one of Asriel's old sweaters in the closet, hung up and not worn for years, something made her feet move to the closet and pick the old faded sweater out. It smelled faintly of Asriel and Chara felt a wetness on the corner of her eye only to rub at it in annoyance. She'd contemplate on that later if she really cared. She smiled a bit as she pulled her sleepwear off to put on the new shirt and her regular pants and exited to the living room. Nobody was out, which was strange because it was a little later than lunch time. She went in the kitchen to find a note on the refrigerator.

Frisk, Asgore and I have gone to the store for a few things, we will be back soon but help yourself to anything in the kitchen

Chara rolled her eyes as she opened the refrigerator to pull out some bread and put it in the toaster. She heard the door open and a voice she didn't register. She peeked from the kitchen doorway to see Papyrus standing there with a stupid grin on his face. Chara snuck up to him as he was turned to the hallway and began to head to Frisk's room before Chara pulled on his scarf. Papyrus looked down to her height and his eyes practically lit up. "HELLO, CHARA!"

"Greetings, Papyrus," Chara said as she headed to the kitchen and Papyrus followed

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE FRISK IS?" Papyrus asked and Chara stopped for a moment and looked at him. He was carrying a backpack so she guessed they were planning to hike or something.

"Frisk is at the store, didn't Sans or Frisk themselves tell you?"

"NO, I DO NOT BELIEVE SO," Papyrus said with a soft smile and Chara continued to walk and came to a drawer to pull out a knife to cut some butter to put on her toast but as she felt the weight of the blade, a small smile spread on her lips but then grew wider. Papyrus was talking behind her but she couldn't hear anything as a thought came to her mind and adrenaline pumped in her veins as the idea seemed to grow more and more appealing by the second. She looked at Papyrus and felt her red eyes glow a little brighter. Papyrus noticed this and she could sense the fear that radiated from him, it felt good once again, she felt truly alive. She smiled wickedly as she sliced through the air that was expected to be Papyrus but he dodged her and Chara glared at him as she did it again but Papyrus dodged and kicked her to the ground. The knife knocked out her hand and Papyrus kicked it under the refrigerator. "I AM TRULY SORRY, DEAR, BUT I CAN NOT LET YOU KILL ME," Papyrus said as Chara sat herself back up and her eyes widened. Papyrus had never dodged before. Is she really that weak? She heard the front door open and Papyrus helped her up and smoothed out her hair as he put a skeletal kiss to her forehead. He beckoned her to follow him to the entrance and Chara didn't fight him.

"Oh, greetings, Chara and... Papyrus?" Toriel said slowly and then ignored it as Frisk looked concerned

"Did Chara hurt you?" Frisk asked and Papyrus put on a show.

"NO, HUMAN, CHARA AND I ARE GREAT FRIENDS, SHE WOULDN'T HURT A FLY!" Papyrus said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and Chara glared at the contact.

"Okay, I'm just checking," Frisk said uncertainly as she helped Toriel with the groceries and Chara brushed off his arm and headed to the backyard but as she walked out the door she heard Asriel. She could've sworn she did. He was right beside her. That same feeling started in her heart again and she shook her head as she sat on the porch and looked at the clouds. Last time she looked at the clouds, she was in Asriel's body, their souls were combined. She looked at the grass and felt it under her fingers. Papyrus came out and sat beside her.

"Why'd you do that?" Chara asked as Papyrus looked at her confused to what she's asking. "Why'd you cover for me? Why'd you lie to them? I just tried to kill you," She said and Papyrus thought for a moment.

"WELL, I BELIEVE THAT YOU SHOULD BE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE, YOU HAD ONLY TRIED TO KILL ME ONCE!" Papyrus said and Chara scoffed. More than once, she wanted to say but decided against it.

"Can you ever turn down the volume of your voice?" Chara asked and Papyrus smiled.

"Is this better?" Papyrus said lowly and Chara looked surprised for a moment before looking straight ahead. She liked this voice a little better. "Anyway, Frisk and I are going for a hike, do you want to come?" Papyrus asked and Chara glared at nothing until looking at Papyrus to give her answer.

"There is no way I'm going on a hike with you two," Chara said and Papyrus smiled at her.

"Well, if you need anything just let me know and I'll be right over!" He said as he got up and went with Frisk to hike up Mt. Ebott. Chara took a deep breath and let it out. Stupid, stupid, they're all stupid! Chara cursed at herself more though. How could she let herself lose to Papyrus? Papyrus of all people! He was supposed to be the weakest next to Froggit, she never really checked his stats, she didn't really see how strong he actually was. But she did mark him off as weak. Toriel came out and put a hand on her daughter's shoulder and Chara looked at her. Toriel smiled and explained that she'd been out there for a while. Apparently 30 minutes to be exact. She must've been thinking longer than she thought. She stood wordlessly but felt she should at least give Toriel a fake smile. So she tried to give a smile in her direction but it didn't feel like anything. Chara made her way to the living room where she gave Asgore the same smile and went to her room. She could've sworn she heard her name as soon as she stepped foot into her room. It sounded like Asriel again. Asriel... Asriel... Suddenly Chara had a hard time breathing and made her way to her bed and just sat there until she could breathe normally. You have to save him. Stay determined. Asriel is still Flowey, isn't he? He's still in the underground, isn't he? She needs to find him. Without thinking, she gathered a backpack and put snacks, water, climbing gear, anything that could be of use and also grabbed her signature knife, who knows if she could need it? As she went through the front door, she saw Papyrus and Frisk standing there.

"You. Come with me," She said before she could register what exactly she commanded and Papyrus agreed as he waved to Frisk and followed Chara.

"Where are we going?" He asked

"To Mt. Ebott," she said and Papyrus have her a patient smile.

"But I just went there," he said and Chara rolled her eyes.

"We're going back in the underground, not all the way up the mountain," Chara said and Papyrus looked surprised but smiled anyway.

"Well, I guess I should tell Sans where I am," Before Chara could tell him no, Papyrus had Sans dialed and Chara could hear his voice on the other line.

"BROTHER! I AM GOING BACK INTO THE UNDERGROUND.... BECAUSE WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING... IM GOING WITH... FRISK! WE WILL BE BACK, DO NOT WORRY!" Papyrus said and hung up but Chara already had Frisk on the phone.

"Hey, Frisky, so skeletor clone over here said that he was going to Mt. Ebott with you. Could you cover for us until we get back? Just dress up and maybe act like me until we get back... No, you don't have to kill anyone... Alright, that's great, see you soon," Chara hung up and looked at the skeleton beside her who had a huge grin. "What are you smiling at?"

"WE'RE GOING TO HANG OUT TOGETHER!" Papyrus said as he grinned with a orange tint to his cheeks and Chara rolled her eyes

"Yeah, sure, whatever, but I need to find Flowey," Chara said and Papyrus smiled.

"Oh! Flowey was my friend in the underground! I wanted him to come with us, but he wouldn't," Papyrus said and Chara looked from him to the mountain they were approaching.

"Okay, so, I'm going to go down the hole again, I brought rope and-"

"Oh! I could just teleport us down there!" Papyrus said as they approached the hole Chara fell down and Chara looked at him in surprise.

"I thought Sans could only do that," Chara said slowly and Papyrus displayed a proud smile

"He taught me a few tricks!" Papyrus said excitedly as he grabbed hold of Chara and soon enough, they were where Chara had started all those years ago. She looked surprised and Papyrus looked proud of himself. He clapped and jumped up and down. "I haven't teleported that far before! This is really good!!!!!" He said excitedly and Chara shook her head at him and bit her tongue on a lecture of trying new things with her. She walked to the place where you usually meet Flowey and sure enough he was there but he looked surprised to see her.

"C-Chara?! What are you doing?! You're supposed to be dead! Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy to see you but what happened!?" He asked as Papyrus came in and he was even more surprised "Did you bring the whole gang?" He asked and Chara shook her head "Wow, thought I'd never see the day Chara actually likes Papyrus," Chara stiffened at that and nearly hit the weed before she remembered that was Asriel.

"I do not, and you're coming with us," Chara said as she brought out gardening equipment out of her backpack.

"No I'm not! You're gonna have to catch me first!" Flowey said as he disappeared and Chara muttered under her breathe

"I'm not in the mood for a game of tag, big bro," Chara said and Papyrus packed up her equipment for her as she brought out her knife. "Ugh, come on, carry the bag, I gotta find him," Chara said and went ahead with Papyrus trailing behind her but keeping a watchful eye when she held the knife.
