"Heya, brat," Sans greeted as he walked in the house. Frisk ignored him, trying not to show her face or let her voice out her. She wanted to hug him or something but decided against it. "Do you know when Frisk and Papyrus are coming back?"
"No," Frisk said hesitantly. She wanted to check if he was suspicious of her or not. Her voice was a lot sweeter and softer than Chara's but Frisk tried to sound like her.
"Really? She didn't tell you? Wasn't it supposed to be a hike? Why aren't they back?" He bombarded her with questions.
"I don't care," He got closer and she turned her head more as to not let him see her face.
"That voice," Frisk flenched at that. "You're. Not. Chara," Sans said, trying to look at Frisk more clearly to which she did not comply. "I'm not an idiot, hun," Sans said. "Show me your face, Frisk," Sans said.
"Don't tell,"
"The old switcheroo, eh?"
"I'm sorry,"
"Ah, you can pull it off with anyone else but do you really think I'm that dumb? From the moment I heard your voice, I knew it was you. You and her have different pitches and tones along with attitude. You couldn't be Chara because I didn't hate you when I heard your voice or saw you. It was the opposite. So, obviously, I thought it was you,"
"What if you did actually fall in love with Chara?"
"Then I'd run far away from here," He said. He sat down across from her at the dining table with his hand holding up his head. "Let me get this straight though," He paused for a moment. "My brother is alone with that spawn of Satan himself and they've been gone for days,"
"Well,"
"I need to call Papyrus right now then," Sans said, pulling out his phone before Frisk could explain the situation to him and started dialing.

Chara walked alongside Papyrus, the snow crunching beneath their feet. Every puzzle that they passed only reminding Chara of her other timelines. She knew by now that Papyrus didn't know about the other timelines, or at least didn't show that he knew, but that didn't stop her from glancing over to him, seeing if that gentle smile changed ever so slightly or if his body moved differently. She didn't regret what she had done but that wouldn't stop from making it slightly awkward if he were to remember.
"CHARA..." He finally said. She looked up at him in response, her lips in the shape of a small frown. "YOU HAVE BEEN AWFULLY QUIET. IS EVERYTHING OKAY? DO YOU NOT LIKE IT HERE?"
"No, it's great here. There's so many people here. It almost hasn't changed even if most of the went to the surface," One of the problems was because there were so many people here. It was getting hard to not grab her knife and slaughter them all to appease the tightening in her chest that she called 'bloodlust'.
"DO YOU NOT LIKE PEOPLE..?" Papyrus asked.
"Oh, no. I've got plenty of L.O.V.E for them," She said with a smirk on her face but she couldn't help but think that her sense of humor needed work. She wanted to get out of everyone's sight. She didn't know why, but she felt like she had made a promise to someone to not kill. Her first plan to get Flowey and leave was a flop. She rolled her eyes and almost pouted at that thought. Asriel was being difficult. Up ahead, she saw the old house of the brothers. Good, if she had to talk to another person, she would've hurt someone. "Papyrus,"
"YES?" He responded like an excited puppy who just answered their master's call.
"Can we-" Chara was about to ask but was interrupted by a loud ring. Papyrus dug his phone out from the backpack he was carrying and Chara saw his smile brighten, if that was even possible, and answer the phone.
"SANS! ITS GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU BROTHER!"
"Heya, Paps. Uh, is Chara with you?" Papyrus heard his brother say from the other line. He thought for a moment before answering. He thought this was a secret they were keeping well. Papyrus knew his brother was smart but he supposed he was even smarter since his girlfriend was the one cosplaying as Chara up on the surface.
"YES! THEY ARE HERE! DO YOU WISH TO SPEAK TO THEM?" Papyrus asked. Chara gave a disgusted look to him and Papyrus smiled gently at her. He found that quiet adorable. It was weird since that was an attitude most people stayed away from her for.
"No, I just wanted to know if you were safe of not,"
"I TRUST CHARA WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!! I DON'T THINK THEY'D EVER HURT ME," Papyrus said and that made both Chara and Sans' hearts sink as they thought of the other timelines. Papyrus saw Chara lower her eyes to the ground and look as if she was going to cry but there were no tears. Is she sad?
"Well, keep an eye out. I don't want that brat to get anywhere near you,"
"Don't worry, Sans," Chara suddenly spoke and Papyrus let her have the phone. "I really love your brother," Sans couldn't trust whether she meant love or L.O.V.E.
"You really are sick,"
"Oh, I just love the way you hurt me. Just like how you just love doing it," There was a silence before Sans spoke up again.
"Masochist,"
"Sadist," Chara replied. Papyrus laughed but Chara was fully convinced he didn't know what either of those names meant.
"Just please. Please don't take Papyrus away from me..."
"Like hell I'm going to do anything for you... But when he comes back alive, just know it wasn't for you," Sans felt relief wash over him as he heard her use the word 'When' instead of 'If'. That meant that he'd come back safe.
"What the hell are you two doing, anyways?" Sans asked. Chara felt like this whole conversation was him threatening and interrogating her.
"Oh, you know, what all humans and monsters do together. Having a jolly good time and I've kissed him a LOT," Chara teased and Papyrus took the phone away.
"I'M SORRY, BROTHER! SHE WAS ONLY TRYING TO GET A REACTION OUT OF YOU,"
"Do not let their filthy hands touch you,"
"OKAY! I CAN TOUCH THEM THOUGH, CAN'T I?"
"...That is your decision. It's a death wish, though,"
"ON THE CONTRARY, THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS AN UNAPPROACHABLE PERSON!"
"Come back safe, Paps. I love you, bro,"
"I LOVE YOU TOO!"
"I love you too, Sansy!" Chara said, laughing hard after as Papyrus hung up. He laughed with her and took a moment to watch Chara's face change to complete joy. He thought this was what her true beauty looked like. Of course, she was beautiful when she was grumpy too. They walked ahead and got to the part of Snowdin that's a lot foggier than the rest. Chara stopped suddenly and Papyrus looked back at her. She stared straight ahead, her mouth slightly open and eyebrows knitted in an emotion he's never seen on her. Her eyes looked terrified and he noticed her hand tightened on the knife before she raised it... But it wasn't pointed to him...
"CHARA, NO!!" Papyrus all but tackled her as she almost stabbed herself in the gut. He felt her shake and breath heavily as she put her full weight into him. "CHARA, WHAT WERE YOU DOING?!"
"..." She didn't answer him and he pulled away from her to look her I'm the eyes but all he saw was a soul devoid of emotion behind them. Is she broken? Can humans break?
"Chara..." Papyrus whispered as he gently tilted her head up to force her to look at him. "What's wrong?"
"I don't like it here. I don't want to think. I don't want to be here. I-I need to get out of here. Now." Her voice changed when she said that. He picked her up and ran, consciously keeping track of where her knife was but this time, not for his own safety. He didn't stop until Chara stopped shaking and he felt her body relax against him. He slowed down to a walk as he made his way into Waterfall. He didnt let her down though. "Papyrus,"
"Hm," He hummed in an answer and she pulled away from where her head was resting on his shoulder to give him one of the cutest glares he's ever seen.
"Put me down," She crossed her arms. She was stubborn and didn't want to be taken care of. I can handle myself, damnit! Papyrus chuckled as an orange blush came to his face.
"OKAY, MY WONDERFUL HUMAN!" Papyrus said and Chara huffed as a deeper blush found its way to her face than the one that was permanently there. She looked straight ahead to see a Shyren.
"There's too many freaks everywhere," Chara said as all she saw when she looked at the monster was an easy kill. She looked back at Papyrus and was pleased when she didn't see him as such.
"WHAT WAS THAT, CHARA?"
"Nothing. Just keep up,"
"YES MA'AM!" Papyrus said as he happily followed her.
A/N: Whew! Long time no see! Was inspired to update so here you go!!! Sorry if this was horrible, I'm a bit rusty.
