~10 Years Later~
{Boruto's P.O.V.}
"Hurry up, you guys!" I shout.
"Wait up, Boruto. Is it really that bad?" Shikadai ran next to me.
"Yeah, it's bad. Really bad." I respond. "Aha! We did it!" I hop onto the train and sighed in relief. "We barely made it. The limited edition cheeseburger!"
"Why do I keep hanging out with you?" Shikadai sighs.
"I can't believe you talked us into this, brother." A girl with pink hair and blue eyes also sighs as she eats the burger. "I only agreed to hang out with you because you said it was something important." She gives me an emotionless stare, already annoyed with me.
"And I told you it was important. The limited edition cheeseburger!" I grin at her. Himiko Otsutsuki Uzumaki. She's my sister. Same age as I am, but born 10 minutes before me.
Only difference between us is that she doesn't have whiskers on her face. She's like mom. Shikadai and I take a bite of our burgers, and gag because it was so spicy.
"So spicy!" I complain.
"You don't want it? I can eat it." Himiko reaches her hand out.
"How can you eat this stuff without it burning your mouth?" Shikadai gives her a disgusted look.
"Becasue I like spicy food. Are you going to eat it or not?"
"Yeah, here." Shikadai hands her his burger. "Starting tomorrow we're going to be going to the Ninja Academy?"
"What!? That's tomorrow!?" I exclaim.
"Dad told us this before. You were right next to me when he told us this." Himiko reminds me.
"Don't do anything that will embarrass your dad, okay? Because it will make me look bad, too. You may not know this, but your sister wants me to look after you."
"Shikadai, that was suppose stay between you and I. I didn't want you to go and tell brother about it." Himiko says calmly and turns to me. "Please behave at the ceremony tomorrow." She stands up.
"Where are you going?" I ask her.
"I'm going home so I can play with our little sister. Don't be late coming home, okay?"
"Yeah, I got it."
"See you." Himiko smiles and waves goodbye as she hops off the train.
"The train is still moving! She could have just grabbed onto the light post or something!" Shikadai's jaw dropped.
"Don't worry about her. That's how Himiko always exits. Exiting in style. That's my sister for ya." I shrug.
{Akina's P.O.V.}
"Let me melt away~
In your embrace my Darling~
It's just me, don't you be afraid
Let me near, so I can have a taste
Just kiss me now!~"
I softly sing while holding my daughter in my lap.
"Sing it again, mom!" She cheers as she reached her hands up.
"Okay. One more time." I gently smile at her while closing my eyes. It's been 10 years since Naruto became Hokage. He finally made his dream come true. I'm so happy for him.
After getting married, I moved in with Naruto. I still go check on Kakashi and spend time with him. We still train together and sometimes hang out whenever we are not busy.
During those years, Naruto and I built a family and are raising 3 children. 2 girls and 1 boy. Boruto, Himiko, and Himawari. All of them have Naruto's eyes while Himiko has my hair color.
Boruto is a spunky young boy and is full of energy. But, he is a bit reckless. He reminds me of Naruto when he was a genin. However, he is a very skilled boy.
Himawari is so adorable. She is always full of cheer and helps around the house a lot. But I don't want her to work too hard. She cares deeply about everyone in the family and is always playing with the eldest sister. But her smile seems to brighten up everyone's day.
And last, but not least, Himiko. She is smart, clever, and takes after me. Because she is the eldest of the siblings, she is protective. She follows Naruto around and is protective of me, and looks up to both of us. Himiko is quiet sometimes, but loves being around the family.
I love our family, but unfortunately Naruto is always busy at the office, so he comes home late. However, Ritsu is kind enough to stop by and check on the children. They like him a lot and Boruto calls him Uncle Ritsu.
A lot has changed over the years. I no longer fear humans and I am respected by everyone in the village. The village has become more modern. It seems like everyone has children of their own. If only Obito could see how everything has changed.
"I'm home." The eldest child, Himiko, walks through the door.
"Welcome home, Himiko." I greet her with a smile.
"Himiko!" Himawari runs over to Himiko and jumps in her arms. Himiko smiles at her little sister and husg her back.
"Where is your brother?" I ask her.
"He's hanging out with Shikadai. We went out and tried out the limited edition cheeseburger. It was spicy."
"I hope he will be home in time for dinner. Anyway," I sit up from the couch and walk over to my two daughters. "Are you excited for tomorrow? It will be you and Boruto's first day at the academy."
"I can't wait." Himiko smiles. "I can finally be a ninja and be just like you and dad. That way, I can protect the family. Especially, Himawari." Himiko looks down at her sister and hugs her again, which causes Himawari to giggle and hug back.
"Your father will be home late again. I'm sorry."
"That's okay. I know dad is busy and doing his best to keep the village safe. Can I help you with dinner tonight?"
"Me too! I want to help mom cook too!" Himawari cheers.
"Alright." I smile at them and walk to the kitchen, and the two follow me. "What should we make today?"
"I wanna pick out the recipe this time!" Himawari raises her hand.
"Okay, okay." I giggle.
"Mom, why do you grow your hair out so long?" Himiko asks as she takes a strand of my hair, after untying the bow I had it in. "It's basically touching the floor."
"I cut last month, but it grows back faster than expected." I sigh. My hair has gotten longer and every time I cut it, it grows back longer than before.
"Maybe she should cut her hair to her shoulders. That way, it will take more than a month for it to grow back to it's original length." Ritsu walks in through the patio door.
"Uncle Ritsu!" Himiko and Himawari gasp happily, and Himawari runs over to him.
"Long time no see, Ritsu. What are you doing here? I thought you were helping Darling at the office."
"Shikamaru has it covered. Besides, your husband asked me to come check on you and your children." Ritsu replies while picking up Himawari and walks over to me.
"I already heard from Kakashi that he'll be working late again tonight."
"I know."
"Uncle Ritsu, when can I wield your katana?" Himiko casually asks.
"When you're ready, squirt." Ritsu ruffles her hair.
"You said that the last time you came to visit." Himiko pouts. She loves wielding weapons, and she's quite skilled with them. She is certainly like me. I use to wield a bunch of weapons back then.
"How about the next time I decide to train with your mother, you can wield my katana, okay?" Ritsu kneels down to her height while placing a hand on top of her head.
"You promise this time?" Himiko looks at him straight in the eyes.
"Pinky swear." Ritsu holds up his pinky finger. Himiko gives him a closed eye smile as she wraps her pinky finger aroud his.
"Do you want to stay for dinner, Ritsu?" I ask him.
"Please stay for dinner, Uncle Ritsu! Help make dinner with us!" Himawari pleaded with a big smile. Ritsu chuckles and answers,
"I don't see why not." He sets down Himawari. "So, what's for dinner?"
"Yay!" Himiko and Himawari cheers. Ritsu stayed and helped the girls and I make dinner. Ritsu became more like a big brother, but he is still my guardian.
"I didn't know you were such a good cook, Ritsu. And here I thought you ordered take out every now and then." I comment.
"You weren't paying attention after all the times we spent together? Man, your head sure was in the gutter back then." Ritsu sweat-drops.
"Yeah, yeah. Sorry." I giggle a bit.
"I'm proud of you, though."
"Huh?" I look at him.
"You accomplished a lot over the years. Look at you. You have a loving husband, beautiful children, and built yourself a great home. You're finally living a happy life, and I'm happy for you." Ritsu smiles.
"Thank you, Ritsu..." I lightly blush at his words. "So, when are you going to get married?"
"One of these days. But, for now, my focus is on you. It always has been." Ritsu looks at me.
"Is this the part where you're going to add 'and it always will be?'" I smirk at him.
"Get out of my head." Ritsu smirks back. "Anyway, dinner is served."
"Ta-da!" The girls cheer as they present the food the table. And righton time, Boruto walks through the door.
"I'm home!" He shouts out.
"Welcome home, Boruto." I greet him while walking to the front door.
"It's about time you came home. I was about to go looking for you." Himiko tells him with an emotionless stare.
"I'd rather if you didn't do that, sis." Boruto sweat-drops.
"I find it cute how your sister is protective over you." Ritsu steps in.
"Uncle Ritsu?! What is he doing here!?"
"He helped out with dinner." Himiko informed Boruto.
"And so did I!" Himawari hops on Boruto's back.
"Well, I'm going to get going. Tell Naruto I said hi."
"What? You're leaving? I thought you said you could stay for dinner." Himawari frowns at Ritsu as he's about to walk out the door.
"Sorry, kiddo. But, how else am I going to get you kids your surprise gifts?" Ritsu smirks.
"Surprise gifts!?" The kids exclaim.
"Yeah. See ya." Ritsu waves and is gone in a blink of an eye.
"Okay, everyone. Go wash your hands so we can eat, okay?" I clap my hands together twice.
"Okay!" They rush to the bathroom to wash their hands. After dinner, the kids went to bed, but Himiko stayed up to help me with the dishes.
"Himiko, you should really be going to bed. It's late, and you have to attend to the academy tomorrow." I remind her.
"It's okay, mom. I don't mind at all." She replies. "Mom... Why does Boruto dislike dad so much? I've noticed how his expression changes whenever I mention him. Is it because he's barely home?"
"So you've noticed. Sharp as ever." I smile at her and kneel down to her height. "Your brother doesn't understand the ways of an Hokage, and he's going to be learning that tomorrow at the academy."
"But he shouldn't be mad at dad. He does a lot to keep the village safe."
"I know. Himiko..." I place both hands on her shoulders and give her another smile. "But you know what to do if something bad were to Boruto or Himawari, don't you? Do you remember what I told you?"
"Yes." Himiko smiles back. "Protect them no matter what. Because that is my ninja way!"
"Good girl."
