5 | but Who Could've Prepared Me?
CLAUDIA AND T'CHALLA, along with Nakia and Okoye, are in Busan, South Korea.
While humans can be in a car, Claudia can not, so she had to lie on the roof even though it was uncomfortable. But they are at least here.
The white wolf jumps down, landing silently beside the Wakanda while Nakia uses them to follow her. They walk to a stall where a mid-aged Korean woman stands and puts things in her shop. "Hello, Sophia, good to see you," Nakia says in Korean or at least something Claudia thinks is Korean. she ruffles her fur a bit, making her see bigger. T'Challa ses her and pats her shoulder.
The wolf look over at him, seeing his smile but doesn't smile back, this place reeks of black markets traders, she hisses in his mind, not wanting any evil ears listening.
But T'Challa smiles at her "dont worry; if there are indeed evil ears here, we will take care of them," the wolf sighs, turning her attention back to the woman and Nakia. The elderly woman's brown eyes look into Claudia's purple ones, and she gasps. "who or what is that?!" she asks Nakia in Korean. The Kenya woman looks at Claudia, who meets her eyes with a calm, questioning look.
"Oh, uh, that's our guard, White Wolf. But do not worry; she is kind as a lamb," Naikia says, trying to assure the woman that Claudia is safe. The woman sighs and nods, smiling; then, a tough Korean-looking man comes out from an alley and motions for the Wakandans and Claudia to follow him.
Nakia smiles at the woman thanking her. Then they all follow the man who leads them to a small dark room with a black door with two guards who watch the new guests but shrink back a bit at the White Wolf's eyes but let her inside anyway.
A buzzing, high-class casino stretched in front of them, and Claudia wrinkled her snout at all the perfumes mingling together but keeping shut. "Spread out. The buyer is likely already here." T'Challa says, and while the two women head for the balcony vantage point, T'Challa and Claudia walk side by side down the stairs to the first floor.
Many eyes are on the wolf, but she ignores them, keeping as close to the king as she can. The two dont talks much, and T'Challa heads over to the betting pit while Claudia sits down against a pillar, her sharp eyes scanning for Klaue. That's until Nakia speaks over the com. "Eyes up. Americans. I count...three." Claudia looks at the scent of different men and sees three CIA agents on the first floor, spread out under the balcony.
Her snout ripples as she holds herself from growling and baring her teeth. Then Okoye's voice comes over, clearly disgusted at the War Dog's lack of eyesight. "Five. How could you miss "Greased Lightning" there behind you."
The wolf looks up seeing Okoye standing over the balcony, and she smells two more agents with clear greasy hair. An elegant waitress carries a tray of drinks to the table where T'Challa and Claudia are. she gasps a bit at the sight of the white wolf but keeps otherwise quiet and gives a glass to the table before heading over. T'challa follows as he spots a familiar face.
"Six. I just spotted an old friend who works for the CIA. It just got a little more complicated." he says, and Claudia can't help the growl that escaped her throat as she follows behind him.
The king steps up to another crowded ccraps table next to Everett Ross, the sixth CIA agent he spotted. "Agent Ross." he greets. The agent nods back with slightly wide eyes as he sees the big wolf behind his accointecnce. "Your highness." he says calmly, playing it cool before he whispers to T'Challa, who leans in "you know you have a giant wolf following you, right?" he says, and T'Challa glance at his friend, who has sat down at his side nuzzling his shoulder.
"Oh, her? this is White Wolf, a guard of mine," he says, and Everett's eyes widen slightly "y-you have a wolf to guard dog?" he asks, clearly confused and surprised. The wolf rumbles, nice to meet a fellow friend for justice, she says in his mind, and Ross starts looking around. T'Challa sees this and tilts his head "something wrong, agent Ross?" at the sound of his name, the agent signs looking back to the king, "no, I thought I heard something."
Claudia sported and lay down, her eyes still scanning the place around her.
It was swarming with colonizers as she'd heard T'Challa's people call the ones with different skin color than theirs. And while Claudia didnt care what they were called, she knew most were just ordinary people here doing trading. Or something. She shook her head as she felt the tense aura of Ross grow stronger the more he talked with her king.
She stands up, her tail curling around T'Challa's leg as a sign that it is time to leave soon. Ross notices her and gulps when her intense purple gaze finds him, and she tilts her head. Her voice soon enters his mind again; you will give us the murder; it is simple but demanding. There can be no room for argument, but Ross doesn't read the signs in the wolf's gaze and gives her a narrowed eye look while T'Challa teachers behind him and pats the big wolf's head before turning to Ross.
"Klaue is leaving out that door with me. You've been warned," he says, leaving Claudia behind him.
What a boy, Claudia scoffs, a laughing tone in her voice. T'Challa looks at his guardian smiling that she finds Everett so funny while he finds him more annoying than anything. "he will not give us what we want now, you know that," he says to her as the two strolls over to antoerh craps table.
Claudia snorts and sits down, her tail going around his feet, I want to see him try to hold anything from us and her purpløe gaze hard when Ross comes over, his voice just above a whisper, "Alright, vibranium from the attack on Sokovia links back to a person that I'm not saying I'm here to make a deal with, but that deal will not be called off. When the dust settles, you and I can work something out."
"I am not here to make a deal." T'Challa answers and Claudia gives Everett a titled head loo. Do you take us for money traders, little man? I am a wolf of nature; I will not have money on my paws. And she stands up, grabbing both Men's attention. her eyes dart about her snout twitching. "what is she doing?" Ross asks T'Challa, who shrugs, "I do not know."
Then when her snout suddenly stops twitching, her ears swirl up to the front but twitch here and there as she walks away from T'Challa and over to the stairs that lead up to the balcony. Many ivory traders look at her with wide eyes but do not draw their weapons, for they are not allowed to have weapons here.
They can only look on.
Soon Claudia finds herself at the door where Okoye stands and striders over to her "what do you smell?" she asks, and Claudia momentarily looks up at her. Newcomers are prepared, she says in the captain of the guard's mind, and she tells T'Challa and Nakia about the news.
But before the door opens again, the Whtie Wolfg hides in the shadows again. Deposit her white fur, she blends in pretty well, and hasn't it been for the pulsing purple marks on her body; she would've been entirely inviable.
Soon out of the door comes no one other than the one they're looking for: Klaue.
And the ruckus begins.
