Rules && Forms
𖦹 RULES !
𖦹 — BEHAVIOR
ㅤㅤI don't wanna see any sort of rude behavior, no making fun of other's ocs, the plot, or just being nasty in general. If I do see anything like this, it will result in a block from me, and of course, no chance of applying to this fic. Further from this, just because you see an oc who is mean or rude, does not mean the creator is the same!! So don't judge a person by their oc!! This also includes that if your oc gets accepted and you find that someone you don't like also did, keep things civil!!
𖦹 — APPLICATIONS
ㅤㅤI'm gonna start this off by saying google forms are allowed !! I always love seeing how pretty and creative they are, but of course, regular applications (commenting the name, then replying with the form) is accepted as well, for those of us (me) who don't have the creativity to make google forms. Also, faceclaims can be actors, models, etc etc, ONLY if they have a few gif resources and are unproblematic (not gonna be super strict on this unless it is someone who has done really awful stuff). If you need help finding a faceclaim or if they fit the criteria, just let me know!
𖦹 — DIVERSITY
ㅤㅤPlease keep all of your applications diverse !! This doesn't mean no blonde white females, it just means that that is usually the first place people go so check and make sure there haven't been five other applications like the one you are planning to do before that!! Make sure to apply with nonfemales, and also maybe try to vary in age since that is okay for this fic. Feel free to apply more than once, although I will only be accepting one character per person. Along with that, if you apply with a male, make the next oc female or nonbinary !!
𖦹 — DETAILS
ㅤㅤSo the plot is pretty straight forward. The story will follow the staff of a magazine empire and their drama/lives. There are so many different types of ocs you can make (i will be giving some examples below) so please be creative with it! The password is your favorite sitcom. Essentially, the majority of the scenes will take place in the office or on work trips our whatever. The goal is to be very sit-com esque so comedy romance drama tension etc etc. Now, some ideas: [all of these are just ideas, nothing is set in stone except for the four ocs in the first chapter]
The Editors/Writers: a cynical older guy who believes that old journalism is dead, angst poet who often writes about death, literary idealist who has big dreams and is often let down.
The Creative Team: perfectionist designer who needs everything to be on point, the chillax photographer who always brings the calm to a hectic photoshoot, the vintage stylist who incorporates retro fashions into everything.
The Office Support: the detail-obsessed fact checker who is the type to correct people's grammar mid-conversation, the chaotic assistant who has way too much on their plate but somehow gets everything done, the stoic archivist who somehow knows everything about every past issue.
The Social Media Crew: the trend-obsessed guru who is always up to date about the hottest dances and memes, the analytics enthusiast who is always running numbers about their online views, the reluctant influencer who is the face of the company online.
The Columnists: the food critic who has been to every restaurant on the east coast, the agony aunt/uncle who brings the truth to their readers eyes, the romance experimental who loves to perform experiments on people in the workplace, the cultural anthropologist who loves to pick up on the little things.
The Management: the founder who comes in once a month to see how things are going, the serial investor who has put way to much money in to back out, the HR director who is always getting everyone to go on retreats and do bonding activities.
Misc: the gossipy custodian who always has new pieces of drama to share, the snack cart salesperson who the staff buy from almost every day, the elusive travel writer who is around for a few weeks out of the year.
𖦹 — ACTIVITY !!
ㅤㅤIt is so so important that you remain active if your oc gets accepted (and i love to see others hanging around to interact with the story), like voting, commenting, GETTING YOUR OPINIONS DONE, so really just keep that in mind while applying, and if something important comes up, i completely understand, just let me know ! I know that a ton of people are loaded with school right now, me as well, so a lot of deadlines will end on the weekends as well as being flexible. If you go inactive without warning me, I will see to replace your oc.

Personality. Sabrina Lian Chen-Delacroix is the heart of Glow magazine's office, a vibrant and welcoming presence who remembers everyone's name (and their coffee order) from the very first introduction. She's quick to smile and has a way of putting people at ease, whether they're a nervous intern or a visiting VIP. Sabrina is effortlessly chatty, with an almost magical knack for making even the most reserved individuals open up, thanks to her genuine interest in their lives and stories. Every morning, she brightens the office by sharing little anecdotes about her day, her latest cooking experiments, or her newest fashion find.
Sabrina radiates positivity, her optimism contagious. She has an easy laugh and isn't afraid to laugh at herself, which makes her approachable and unpretentious. She's deeply empathetic and picks up on the smallest details, remembering birthdays, favorite colors, and even the quirks that make each of her colleagues unique. Known for her pep talks, Sabrina has a talent for lifting spirits, offering a listening ear or a few comforting words whenever needed. She's always willing to lend a hand, often volunteering to coordinate office events or plan surprise parties, and she genuinely enjoys making everyone feel valued.
Sometimes, Sabrina's eagerness to help can overwhelm her, leaving her juggling more than she can handle. Her bubbly nature means she sometimes struggles with setting boundaries, occasionally stretching herself too thin to keep everyone happy. And while she's naturally warm, she has a habit of over-apologizing or feeling personally responsible if things go wrong around her. Her optimism can occasionally come off as naive, but her genuine spirit keeps her grounded and approachable.
She's everyone's unofficial "work bestie," from the senior editors to the interns, and is adored for her kindness and sincerity. Sabrina has a close relationship with the HR and Events teams, who appreciate her creativity and enthusiasm for planning memorable gatherings. Even Rodger Langford, the often stoic CEO, appreciates Sabrina's energy and occasionally lets a smile slip when Sabrina pops by his office with her signature line: "Anything I can do to make your day better, Mr. Langford?"
Backstory. Sabrina Lian Chen-Delacroix was raised in the lively, multicultural heart of San Francisco. With her Chinese mother, a high school art teacher, and her French father, a pastry chef who owned a popular bakery, Sabrina grew up in a home that buzzed with creativity, warmth, and the smell of fresh pastries. Her parents fostered her love for people and instilled in her a curiosity about the world and its diverse cultures. Sabrina's mother taught her about the importance of listening, kindness, and making others feel seen, while her father encouraged her love for bright colors, bold flavors, and a little bit of whimsy.
Sabrina was naturally drawn to people from a young age. She was the kind of kid who knew the life stories of every teacher and janitor at her school, always taking time to stop and chat, make friends, and remember details about their lives. She participated in just about every school activity, from planning dances to organizing fundraisers, loving any opportunity to bring people together and make them smile.
After high school, Sabrina moved to New York City for college, majoring in Communications with a minor in Art History. Her degree felt like the perfect mix for her — a way to connect with people while channeling her creative side. During college, she worked part-time at a bustling coffee shop where she honed her multitasking skills and fell in love with the fast-paced energy of the city. Sabrina loved learning about each regular customer's "usual" order and took pride in remembering the little things, like which pastry they'd ask for when they had a rough day.
When she graduated, Sabrina's cheerful personality and knack for organization made her a perfect fit for the role of receptionist at Glow magazine. At first, she thought the position would be a temporary stop on her career journey, but she quickly realized how much she loved being the welcoming face of a company filled with creative, ambitious people. Every day, she brings her family's values into her work, combining her father's flair for creativity and her mother's empathy with her own natural love for people. For Sabrina, making everyone feel seen and appreciated is more than a job; it's her way of bringing a little bit of warmth to the world.
Family Members & Details. Mother, Lily Chen, 54, art teacher: their relationship is almost always unserious, the two laugh and paint together for hours on end when Sabrina visits home.
Father, Phillipe Delacroix, 55, bakery owner: Sabrina has always been closer to her father throughout the years, helping him open the bakery or going on late night walks after a long night. Sabrina goes to her father with her problems, always getting a spurt of nonsense as advice, but somehow it works out.
Brother, Lucas Chen-Delacroix, 19, environmental science student: the two are constantly bickering when they meet, and they have been for19 years. There is always some fight between them, but it never goes deeper than the surface.
