AN: okay I ship this so hard that I'm already crying and I haven't even started. This is an AU in which Washington is the same age as the rest of the squad so we can avoid that creepy professor/student thing.

George Washington looked up from a packet of requests made by fellow students. Most of them were ludicrous, but a few caught his eye with their achievability, and he intended to look into them with the principal.

That was him: George Washington, student body president.

So when he saw little Lafayette in the doorway, he shouldn't have been as intimidated as he was.

"Hello, Lafayette, how can I help you?"

"Uh, hi, George, Ms. Parham (OC) sent me to check on you. She says you should go home, you've done enough work," Lafayette shifted his weight uncomfortably.

George shook his head. "Thanks, but no thanks. I've got quite a few things to do. Tell her I'll be done in half an hour, I know she doesn't leave til six anyway."

Lafayette nodded and turned, before thinking better of it and deciding to take the leap of faith. "Hey, George,"

"Yeah?"

"So, this is weird, but I like you. As more than a friend. I figured I might as well say it. I'll give Ms. Parham your message,"

"Wait, Lafayette,"

Lafayette winced, expecting some kind of rebuke. "Yes?"

"I-I like you too,"

Lafayette lit up. "Do you want to go out? I mean, yeah, I think?" Lafayette's thoughts were quickly becoming jumbled.

George nodded. "Does tomorrow work? I can walk you home from school and we can go to a park or something," George wasn't thinking very well either.

Lafayette grinned. "Yeah,"

George smiled in return. "Alright, I'll see you then. But before you go, could you help me with something?"

Lafayette approached his end of the table and took a seat next to him, looking at the papers spread before him.

"I have a peer who has said that foreign language classes are not comprehensible with just the adult teachers provided. I was thinking we could do a program that allows seniors who are at least conversational in the language to aid the class,"

Lafayette's eyes sparkled. "That sounds like something I would do. You should definitely try for it,"

George had almost forgotten that Lafayette was French. "I suppose you'll be the first to sign up?" He chuckled.

Lafayette nodded eagerly. "It would be fun, what period will I be skipping?"

"Oh, there's the secondary motive I was looking for," George winked at the smaller man and Lafayette blushed. "I'm not sure. The principal will rearrange schedules, not me,"

"Okay, George, that sounds like a great pitch. You should do it too, don't you speak French? Spanish, maybe?"

George thought, then said slowly, "I guess I'm conversational in a few languages. I'll do it if you do,"

"Our first thing as a couple," Lafayette nudged him as he stood. "I'm in, and I'll meet you tomorrow by the gate,"

George nodded and turned a faint pink.

When Lafayette left he put his face in his hands and started to make a note in his notebook.

Freaking Lafayette. All pretty and French. I swear I wasn't even gay before I met that asshole. I mean lovely person. No, I think I meant asshole.

He paused momentarily to gather his scattered work and begin his trek to the principal's office. When he arrived, Mr. Rodney (OC) looked up and grinned a bit suspiciously.

"Ahh, Mr. Washington. What's your proposition?"

George quickly explained his position and that Lafayette already promised he would participate, and that George planned to sign up himself if it was instigated. Rodney nodded slowly and rubbed his chin.

"I like it. If we can get a few more seniors to sign up it will be a complete success. Good work, son," (hon hon baguette the tables have turned)

George gathered his materials back to himself and turned to leave before Rodney called,

"Oh, and have fun on your date,"

George turned bright red and left immediately.
