Hear the song before reading the poem or play it in the background while reading and replace the words of the song with the poem's words(in the same tone). It's something new I've tried. I don't know from where I got this idea.. but I know so little about football, so I thought to make it a fun prompt. Hopefully you will enjoy the poem. I had much fun while writing it. xD

Football!

the

darling game of the West!

I am from east, the land of cricket's zeal

but football is also rising steadily to big deal.

A green field, with two goal posts.

Amazing maneuvers of feet are seen as the players carry the ball forward
and the crowd roars :

G  -  O  -  A  -  L

G - O - A - L

I t ' s    a   g o a l !

The scoring team celebrates

and the crowd goes wild,

with shouts and chants!

The three positions get ready : 

Forwards,

Midfielders and

Defenders.

Together with the goal keeper they defend their post

from the black and white attack by the

Other Side!

Football!
