Chapter 2

Inside his head, Error couldn't hear Dream anymore. All he heard was laughing. The kind of laughing that made you feel small, like you were nothing but a bug underneath someone's shoe, about to be squished.
Dream barely knows us, and he figured it out in minutes! That's hilarious!
You idiot. You really should've figured it out the minute you found out that your rival heard voices too.
You told him? Good work. Now he's going to tell Blue that you had a mental breakdown!

"570p..." Error moaned, shutting his eyesockets and putting his hands over where his ears would be if he was a human.
Why? After all, isn't the truth better than ignorance? Not that you'd know.
Do you actually think Dream believes you? You worked with his brother, of all people! He probably thinks your trying to get him to abandon the Star Sanses.
This is why the Destroyer doesn't make a 'truce' with the Creator, you weak idiot!

Murderer
Weakling
Destroyer

Those last three words echoed through his head, making it ring, and blocking out everything else the voices-no, the Creators-were saying. "57-57-570p 17-17! 1'M n0T-" Error felt someone hug him. He jumped, and the voices disappeared. "ERROR! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Said a loud, familiar voice that definitely wasn't in his head. "DREAM CALLED AND SAID HE FOUND YOU GLITCHING OUT HERE BY YOURSELF AND-" Error cut off Blue and hugged him back. He squinted, hoping his vision would clear soon. "...7h-7h-7H4nK y0u," he said shakily, both to Blue, for coming to bring him back from that awful place, and to Dream, for getting Blue and not telling the little cinnamon roll the whole truth.

Dream stood next to Blue, feeling useless. He had been trying to help Error, and instead made it worse. He really hoped Error wasn't mad at him, although he wasn't entirely sure why. He assumed it was because he was nervous that if the 'Creators' started to torment Error again, the glitching skele wouldn't accept his help. Blue looked at Dream and 'mouthed' "COULD YOU GET SOME CHOCOLATE PLEASE?"Dream nodded, glad to feel useful, and ran to the nearest shop. He bought several packages, and came back with his arm laden with the stuff. He wasn't gone very long, but when he got back Error's eyelights had cleared up enough to see what was in Dream's arms. "H0ly-7h47s 4l07 0f ch0c0l473," he said, a hint of envy in his voice. Blue grinned. "PERFECT! THAT WAS QUICK!" He met Dream halfway and took some of his delicious burden from him. "THIS SHOULD MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER!" Error looked like his elementary school class had just started singing 'Happy Birthday' to him, and his embarrassment was enough to make Dream chuckle. "Blu3, y0u d1dn'7 h4v3 70-" Error started to say, but when Blue put his load of chocolate in front of him, he immediately grabbed one and opened it. "MWEH HEH HEH! THE MAGNIFICENT BLUEBERRY WILL ALWAYS FIND SOME CHOCOLATE FOR HIS FRIENDS IN THEIR TIME OF NEED!" Blue said, striking a heroic pose. Dream smiled, and set his chocolate down next to Blue's, which was already mostly gone. He could tell that Error was feeling much better, and was thinking about leaving when Error said, "...H3y Dr34m?"
"What is it?"
"7h4nk5."
Dream blinked. "O-oh. It was no trouble!"
"OH, UH, DREAM," Blue said, "IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING, WHY WERE YOU OUT HERE? YOU LEFT IN SUCH A HURRY, I WAS KINDA WORRIED, BUT INK SAID YOU FELT THAT SOMEONE WAS REALLY UPSET?" Dream mentally slapped himself, and he felt Error become tense. Of course Blue would ask what he was doing in Outertale, especially since he found Error here. "Oh! Right. Well, I couldn't seem to find which AU it was coming from, so I started AU hopping," Dream said, trying not to glance at Error. "When I got to Outertale, I saw Error and called you." Blue nodded, and Error relaxed. The shorter skeleton went back to hugging Error, who was almost done with the chocolate.

"Well, this is certainly interesting," said a familiar voice. Dream turned and saw, to his heartache and horror, Nightmare had come to see what was going on. Behind him, wrapped in his goopy tentacles and looking kinda pissed, stood Outertale!Sans. "Can I go now? I don't want to be in the middle of a fight between you four..," grumbled the ruffled skeleton. "Mmm... no, I think you'll stay right where you are," Nightmare sneered. "As for you three..." he laughed, making Blue flinched and Error stand in front of him protectively. "Who would've thought I'd find my brother trying to help a traitorous glitch like you!" he wiped away a non-existent tear. "Then again, you never really knew the difference between your friends and your enemies, did you, Dream?" Dream clenched his fists and Dust, Horror, and Killer appeared next to Nightmare. Ohhh we are in trouble. Maybe I should call Ink... "Dream! Where-oh. I found you." Speak of the artist! "Why are you..," He started, looking suspiciously at Error. "...you know what? I'm not even going to ask." Ink stood next to Dream with his brush ready, and Dream summoned his bow. "GUYS, I KNOW THIS ISN'T THE BEST TIME TO POINT THIS OUT," Blue said anxiously, "BUT WE'RE OUT OF CHOCOLATE." Error snickered, "4ww, Blu3, 17'5 5w3370f y0u 70 p01n7 7h47 0u7."
"OH MY ASGORE!" Blue yelled.
"4ww, c0m3 0n. C4ndy y0u 74k3 4 j0k3?"
"THATS IT! NO MORE CHOCOLATE FOR YOU!"
"¡N000 A5g0r0!"
Dream was doubled over from laughing, and some of the 'villains' were snickering. Even Ink was trying not to laugh. Nightmare, however, was unamused. "Enough!" he snapped, and his minions immediately silenced themselves. "We didn't come here to listen to you annoy each other," he snarled. "You could've fooled me," Ink said nonchalantly. "Also, Outertale Frisk is right behind you. I think they're about to reset." The Bad Sanses spun around, only to find nothing behind them except stars and asteroids. While they were distracted, Ink made a portal and pushed Dream, Blue, and Error into it before jumping in after them.

"That was close," Ink sighed as he stepped on the grass of UnderSwap's surface. After making sure they were alone on the hillside, he looked at his companions. Blue looked a little ticked from the puns, and Dream was still shaking with silent laughter. Error looked... very confused, but that was to be expected. After all, didn't Ink just HELP him? "INK, WHY ARE WE IN MY UNIVERSE?" Blue asked him, looking a bit anxious. "Your the only one of us who HAS a universe, and I'm sure as hell not bringing HIM back to our hideout," Ink said calmly, pointing at Error. He thought it was quite reasonable; even though they had made a truce, that didn't mean they had to be friends. Plus, even though Error left their group, there was no guarantee he wouldn't tell the villain mob where they were. Error seemed to agree, too, albeit grudgingly. But Blue seemed to think that was still unfair, so he just crossed his arms and looked at his feet. "WHILE WE'RE HERE, I THINK I'M GOING TO VISIT MY BROTHER. IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE SEEN HIM," he told them, and walked off before anyone could say anything. Ink watched him leave, and then turned to study Dream and Error. The former looked to be little nervous about standing between the two, and concerned about something. 'He's probably worried about Outer,' Ink thought dismissively. Error looked like he wanted Blue to come back, but he just stood awkwardly where he was. Ink decided that if Error was going to try anything funny, he would've done it by now. "I'm going to go find an art store or something," he told them. He glared daggers at Error, knowing the glitch would get his message. Said glitch rolled his eye lights and put his hands up, like "Dud3, pl3453." "1 r34lly d0n'7 f33l l1k3 p1551n9 y0u 0ff r19h7 n0w," he muttered under his breath. Ink was tempted to call Error a chicken for not wanting to make him mad, but thought that it might be best if he just left. "Ri-ight. I'll see you later, Dream," Ink called over his shoulder as he left.

When he got to the edge of town, Ink pulled his scarf up so it acted like a hood. Even though monsters were free (at least, in this timeline), that didn't mean he could still go around without worrying about unwanted attention. His bones were noticeable enough, but his eye lights were definitely memorable. He then made Broomie, his beloved giant paint brush, shrink into a normal-sized brush. As he wandered the streets of the city, he spotted Cross, his old friend, sneaking up behind Blue. Ink chuckled as Blue jumped, and turned around to give a laughing Cross a good scolding. Although Cross wasn't always the Star Sanses's ally, him being in UnderSwap wasn't unusual. As expected, once he was done lecturing Cross Blue handed him a bag that was no doubt full of tacos. Cross thanked him and ran off, presumably to eat his favorite treat. Ink continued on his way. When he found the shop he was looking for, his entrance was greeted by the tinkle of a hand-made bell. This was Ink's favorite store. Everything in it, from the shelves to the cash register, was made by the store's owner and cashier, who hung her best works on the wall behind her. They had everything an artist could ever dream of: canvases, brushes, different types of paint, special pencils, sculpting tools, clay working martierials, picture frames, glass blowing molds; you name it, they have it.

Ink had visited the store long before the resets, so the shopkeeper knew him well. "Hello, Ink! Long time no see!" The owner waved to him. She was a dark skinned woman with red highlights in her dark brown hair. "Hey, Morgan! How's business?" Morgan grinned and showed him her latest work of art. "What do you think?" If he had eyes, Ink was sure they would've shot out of their sockets, and he had to try really hard not to puke ink on Morgan's clean floor. It was a beautiful mosaic made of little glittering glass tiles that Ink was sure were of high quality. It depicted Waterfall in great detail, so accurate that it looked almost like a photograph. Morgan laughed at his reaction. "Another skeleton named Sans came in and said you told him about my store. Said he could see how you'd like it here," Morgan chuckled at the memory. "He was really enthusiastic, and when he saw my paintings he offered to describe a place for me to paint. I told him that I was planning on doing a mosaic next, but he just got more excited a said he knew the perfect place, and it looks like he was right." Ink nodded, still trying to take in its beauty. "Sans is supposed to come by later today to see it," She mused. "Soon, as a matter of fact. If he's a friend of yours, why don't you stick around?"

"Sure! I need more pencils, anyway," Ink chirped, snapping out of the trance he was in.

Meanwhile, back on the hill, Dream and Error were being really awkward. For a solid 5 minutes, they just stood there wondering why the other hadn't left. Finally, Error interrupted the silence. "500... y0ur 571ll h3r3."
"Yes. And so are you."
"Why 4rn'7 y0u, 1 d0n'7 kn0w, l00k1ng f0r 4n 4mus3m3n7 p4rk 0r 50m37h1n9?"
Dream gasped. "Oh my gosh that's a GREAT IDEA! Do you want to come with me?"
Error's glitching got worse. "W417 WH47?!"
