To Sever a Bond

"It is said that when a nine- tailed fox shifts into its human form and gets stuck that way. It's because they have found their soulmates."

"This cannot be changed unless the bond between the two souls is somehow severed. Things that would cause the bond to be severed can be a betrayal, death, or somehow a fox loses their memory and a new suitor steps in."

"This is the desire of the fates. For Jinx to sever the bond between herself and Yoongi. Everything is going well so far in that aspect. Had it not been for a little slip up of a god that often goes unnoticed these days."

"It has been decided that if this form of fate isn't sealed her death would be imminent. Simply because Seulgi despises love and personally goes out of her way to destroy it. Especially if a god so much as shows any extra favoritism towards a human or mythical creature."

"There is also a written rule in the stars that says gods are not allowed to fall in love or be in a relationship with a human or mythical creature. Although there is a fine line for said creatures."

"Wait..." Yoongi looked around the room for Hoseok. He was sitting in the corner reading out loud from a book. Hoseok raised his brow when peeking up at the King.

"What?"

"That book actually says that?"

Hoseok shook his head, closing the book. He stood up walking slowly towards the balcony.

"Then why say those things?" Yoongi snapped at the god who stared blankly into the starry night sky.

"To lessen the pain when your bond breaks."

Yoongi slumped down into a chair. Hoseok was always so chipper around him, aside from when Yoongi was overly bitter.

"I still have time! Kira knows how to get to the meadow. I have time." He sounded almost desperate.

Hoseok sighed, turning to face the young man he adored.

"I could make it easier on you..." he took a step toward Yoongi.

"Make what easier?"

"I could take the memories of her away. You'll never feel the heartbreak of the severed bond."

"No..."

Yoongi glared at the approaching god. Hoseok frowned, but he understood. He just stood there watching as a storm raged behind Yoongi's dark eyes. He just gave that man more munition to take out the fates without realizing.

"I'm not a god. Neither is Jinx... we don't fall under Seulgi's vindictive motives to destroy a gods love of a human or mythical creature."

Hoseok scratched his head. He wasn't wrong, however that made a different matter quite troublesome.

"Uh—I just realized something. I have to go." Before Yoongi could interject he was gone in the candlelight.

In the silence that fell upon the king, he found peace. It was weird to say that's what he felt. But it was true. As if the silence let him know that the storm he held at bay was soon to be triumphant against his enemies.

One in particular. Seulgi.

——

Hoseok hated going down into the underworld, just about as much as he hated shadows. There was no light down here and the feeling of hopelessness was almost paralyzing for him. However, this was important.

He may even have to consult the Great Creator. They are the pure embodiment of love and he knew that. Hoseok felt that everyday as he shone bright in the sky. Bringing about a beautiful day.

This place was the opposite, filled with writhing creepy crawly things. The type of creatures that could rival any child's worst nightmare. If it wasn't for his inner light, he wouldn't dare come down here.

"Well if it isn't the favorite." Sneered an unfriendly voice in the shadows.

The god of the Underworld stepped out of the shadows. His form is that of the King, Hobi's most adored human. Although his eyes were white and his hair that of an oil slick grey.

"Hades..."

"Aw... you don't want to call me your pet's name?" He pouted, coming to a stop right in front of Hoseok.

"I didn't come here to fight with you."

Hades chuckled, his demeanor dangerous, yet playful.

"I can't help you with your little toys. I only get them once they are discarded."

Hoseok grimaced at the way Hades just belittled the humans so easily. Each one was created in the Great Creators image. How could he talk so poorly about them?

"I just have a question."

Hades canted his head sideways.

"I might be able to answer."

"Where is the god of the Seas?" He looked into Hades eyes as he asked the question. His hope was that inside his eyes he would see the soul he was searching for. If the legend was true he would have died after his transgressions. However, it didn't appear to be so.

"That was a Jungkook move, Hoseok." Hades complained.

"So he didn't die, why did you lie?" Hoseok questioned as waves of endless possibilities ran through his mind.

"Sometimes even the sun gets left in the dark." Smiled Hades.

Taehyung appeared behind Hoseok, lightly tapping him
on his shoulder.

"We need to talk."

Hoseok spun around, his eyes searching Taehyung's. Then he looked behind him to see if Jungkook was with him.

"Where's the trickster?"

"Off playing tricks in the village." Shrugged Taehyung, swiftly walking from the room. Hades grumbled something under his breath as the two walked away.

"What do you want to talk about?"
Hobi asked once they were near the meadow. Taehyung pointed towards the tiny chateau. Hoseok followed his finger to see what he was pointing at. There in the window sat Jinx looking out towards the wild flowers and wheat grass. Her silvery blond hair blowing in the evening breeze. Jinx' eyes glistened with tears the longer she looked out into the meadow. Until finally she got up and went to lay down on her bed.

"She is lost." Taehyung murmured.

"What do you mean?"

Soon as Taehyung went to speak, Jimin appeared from the tree line with little Jae. Once again Taehyung pointed towards the Chateau.

"That can't happen." He stated firmly. Hoseok looked at him baffled.

"What can't happen?"

"You know what."

"But it's in the fates."

Taehyung rolled his, firmly grasping Hoseok shoulders.

"If Jinx says yes an evil will be unleashed from hell and the only thing that will keep that from happening...." he trailed off, staring hard at the door.

"We may be too late... the little girl is overly excited."

"I've got to get Yoongi!" Shouted Hoseok.

"What for?" A lazy drawl came from behind him. Hoseok spun around so fast he made himself dizzy.

"Yoongi!!!"
