Prologue

The sun crawled through the open window of Yoongi's bedroom. Odd to say it was crawling, although that's exactly what he was doing. The god of Sunshine frequently visited the sleeping man just before the sun was highest in the sky.

Simply because he was a lot nicer in his sleep than awake these days. Hoseok was to blame in part. Then again all of the gods and the three fates alike.

Yoongi had a lot of responsibilities running an empire. His only escape was a dream. The recurring dream of his times in the meadow with Jinx.

There was a time when Hoseok could make Yoongi's smile show. Now it was a death glare that turned a sunny day into a rain shower. So there he stood at the edge of the sleeping man's bed wondering if he'd ever give up on the little white fox.

"Leave." Yoongi grumbled sleepily, yanking his blanket over his head.

"Yoongi, it's been six years." Hoseok started. Yoongi pushed back the blanket and sat up. Glaring at the ray of sunshine at the edge of his bed.

"I have grown you ungrateful gods an empire... Yet you still haven't given me the one thing that I want."

Hoseok frowned, he never asked for him to rule an empire. It was the fates and a greedy woman.

"That was the fates decision."

Yoongi tilted his head to the side, raising an eyebrow.

"Aren't you a god?"

He slid off the bed, grabbing his robe. Turning to look at the sulking god once more.

"Well?"

"Doesn't mean I can go against fate."

"You have no spine." Yoongi spat, walking out of his room. Hoseok stared at the door as it slammed shut.

It was nearly impossible to go against fate. If only he knew what they had in store for Jinx. He wouldn't beg for her each day.

Hoseok was told numerous times not to say anything. But everyday it got harder, everyday Yoongi grew a little colder and his subjects were starting to feel the ice cold fury radiating off the man.
——

He should probably go to the fates. Instead he found himself in a tiny chateau near the meadow. He could smell the wildflowers soft aroma drift through the small open window. This place was much more soothing than the palace.

"Oh, Hoseok." Jinx nearly dropped her vase of flowers when she saw her dear friend sitting at her table.

"Good Morning, Jinx." He smiled brightly. "How are you feeling today?"

Carefully she sat the vase on the table, arranging the flowers so they sat perfectly. When she was done she stood up straight, smiling sweetly at them.

"Tea?" She asked, not answering his question. Hoseok sighed, nodding.

She doesn't remember Yoongi. Which Hoseok feels it's his fault. It's been six years. What the gods put her through in them six years had worn her down. All because he brought her to the city to see him. Taehyung didn't punish Hoseok because he did try to get her away.

However, it was the fact she was there.

"Here you go."

"Thank you." He smiled up at her, losing his train of thought. Jinx went to sit by the window, looking out into the meadow. She always smiled when she saw the flowers dance in the morning breeze. How the sun seemed to kiss each and every petal. Giving them a beautiful splash of color.

"Jimin and little Jae stopped by yesterday." She began, slowly turning her head towards Hoseok. He nodded his head as he took a sip of tea.

"Jimin says they used to live here..."

This part was most cruel. They took Jimin and little Jae from her as well. They felt if she remembered what she had done all those years ago. All the memories would come flooding back. Hoseok feels the fates have made a mistake. Even the stars twinkle differently these days.

"Oh?"

"Yes, that his wife and son died here. Jimin's story is most sad. He spoke of a little white nine tail fox that saved him and little Jae."

Tears started to form in his eyes. She spoke so surprised about a nine tailed fox.

"Did you know nine tailed foxes existed?" She questioned him. He just smiled, quickly wiping away the troublesome tears.

"Oh, Hoseok... did I upset you?" Jinx rested her small hand on his shoulder.

"No sweet girl. I was just reminded of a memory."

Now that he thought about it. Hoseok was given a punishment he just didn't realize it until now. He had to endure her kindness when he was the last person who deserved it. He had to watch her live a life without love. Oblivious to the one man who has literally gone against the fates to get her back.

She hugged Hoseok gently, releasing him to walk back outside in her bare feet.

"The sun god is so kind this morning, Hobi." Jinx giggled, dancing in circles within the flowers of the meadow. All he could do was smile at her carefree compliment and the nickname she gave him. Even when he felt quite the opposite of kind.

Little Jae came running up through the trees calling Jinx's name cheerfully.

"Jinx!" She squealed, taking the hand of the pale girl with the silvery white hair. Jimin appeared sometime later carrying a basket of bread from the local market. He nodded to Hoseok who returned the gesture.

"Little Jae loves coming here to see Jinx." He smiled watching the girls laughing as they chased after a purple butterfly. Jinx was much like a child, maybe that was just the fox in her trying to get out.

"Jinx is always so kind to her."

Hoseok smiled, Jinx was always a kind hearted person. Even when the gods took her memories. It didn't change who she was inside.

"She has a kind heart."

"She does... do you think she would marry a widowed man?" Jimin asked curiously. Hoseok's heart sank, he didn't want to say she would. Because this moment she probably would say yes. However he knew deep down that her heart truly belonged to another.

Or did it.

Hoseok couldn't bear it anymore. He bid his goodbye before his mood could sour, bringing about a thunderstorm.

"See you again soon, Jinx!" He waved to her. She waved back happily, turning to run after Little Jae. Jimin laughed at the small girl's shriek.

"I can't watch this..." sighed Hoseok, vanishing into the rays of the sun.
