Memories
Hoseok dragged Jinx out of the city all the way back to the meadow. He was neither angry nor happy. In truth every inch of his immortal being was worried for the girl.
He should have never agreed to take her to see him. How could he have been so stupid? Now that he thought about it. Perhaps gods just had a death wish of their own that just never got fulfilled. Instead others had to pay for their transgressions and Hoseok found that to be most cruel.
Jinx wouldn't look at him, her eyes stayed trained on the patches or pink roses that lined the forest edge.
I'm sorry...

I couldn't bring myself to look up at the sunshine god. He had done me a favor and once again I stood in the meadow waiting. For what?
Another punishment from the god of punishment himself, Kim Taehyung. I'm not mad... I'm just upset. How could the fates be so cruel. Yoongi was stripped of all happiness for years. Then when he gets it back and finds someone to love. They take that away and force him to be their king.
I heard him cry out my name when Hoseok yanked me into the shadows. I felt the pain of longing. I still feel it.
So I stare at the pink roses void of every emotion except for the one Yoongi knew better than anyone. I felt no fear for the new punishment. There was no reason to be angry at Hoseok. I had every reason to be angry at the fates. But I wasn't.
My heart was laden with sadness, drenched in a reality of sorrows that only a few in the Mystic Forest would understand. Hwasa especially.
"Jinx..."
I looked up to see my master Namjoon standing a few feet in front of me, to his left, Taehyung. My lips pulled into a tight line. It would seem even Taehyung wasn't thrilled about being here.
"You worked so hard, little one..." Namjoon sighed, my eyes fell to my bare feet. I did work hard Joonie. I worked so hard so I could go back to helping you. But my heart... my heart, Joonie.
It is said once a nine tailed fox falls in love, like really falls in love. They never go back to their fox form. It's impossible, even the gods know that. The great creator made us that way.
So why do they allow the fates to be so cruel?
When I allowed myself to look at my master once more, I had tears streaming down my face. I couldn't stop them, nor did I want to.
Namjoon's eyes glistened with the start of them as well. Hoseok wandered off until he vanished into the setting sun, whispering, "I'm sorry."
I sighed, wrapping my arms around myself. I heard Taehyung let out a breath before his deep voice met my ears.
"Jinx, you have once again attempted to change the ways of the fates... for this you are to be punished."
I nodded, Namjoon moved over to wrap an arm around my shoulders. Squeezing them gently to try to ease my anxiety.
"It will be okay..." he whispered. I allowed myself to gaze up at his beautifully sculpted face. His brown eyes reflected my sadness in them.
"I'm starting to hate being in charge of punishments." Complained Taehyung.
"We could always trade." A happy voice cooed from behind him. Taehyung stiffened, turning to see Jungkook, the trickster god.
"No." He said flatly, turning to face me once more. I watched as Jungkook pouted behind Taehyung. Without looking back at the boy he asked Jungkook why he was here in the first place.
"The fates have decided her punishment for you. You know, like they always do. Because you su—"
"Be quiet!" Yelled Taehyung, Jungkook snarled his nose in frustration, holding out a piece of purple parchment with silver cursive handwriting on it.
Taehyung took it, reading the contents. His face crestfallen with every single word. What could it possibly be?
"Jungkook leave."
The god of Mischief pouted, disappearing in a cloud of purple smoke.
Jinx rubbed her arms from the cool breeze that ran through the meadow. All eyes were back on her now. Namjoon had tears streaming down his face and Taehyung, well he looked like he wanted to be sick.
"I can take it..." I mustered as much confidence as I could in those four little words. Even though I felt anything but.
Namjoon gave me a weak smile, where Taehyung sighed heavily, placing his firm hands on my small shoulders.
I watched as dark clouds rolled into his usually soft brown eyes. Lightning striking within them. Something turned in the pit of my stomach and I knew right away that this was not like my last punishment.
This. This was much worse.
—
She stood there so bravely, looking into the storm raging within. My eyes taking in every part of her beautiful mind. She didn't seem to have an ill thought of anyone she encountered.
This punishment was tearing my heart apart. I couldn't stand it. I have never given a punishment this cruel since Jin. The irony of it all is the reversal. Instead of it being Jin's brother who received it. It was on the one person Yoongi loved most.
I watched as the memories faded away. Storing them deep within my own. In hope that one day they could return to Jinx.
"Is it done?" Namjoon's voice called out to me. His voice was strained from crying.
I nodded meekly. Wanting nothing more than to disappear into the darkest corner of hell and wallow in self pity. Alas, I promised Namjoon to help restore the chateau that Jinx' friend used to live in. So that she may have a place.
We worked well into the night while Jinx slept among the lavender and daisies. It was a perfect little place for her. Although she deserved so much more.
"Why must the fates be so cruel." Sighed Namjoon, lifting the sleeping girl from the flowers. He carried her into the chateau, placing her gently on the small bed with light blue bedding.
"Good bye for now." Namjoon kissed her forehead, vanishing into thin air. Taehyung soon after.
